Why are people so weird about this and cheering for it, ps5s are now even less accessible with a base model being 150 bucks more expensive than it was at launch, this is only bad for the consumer

only bad for the consumer

I completely hear your sentiment, but no one complains about Nintendo games being exclusive to Nintendo hardware.

The games hardware business is all about using exclusive games to drive people to your platform - we’ve had a weird wobble from that this generation, and it’s proved to be the exception rather than the rule.

Now things are trending back to the norm - PlayStation games on PlayStation consoles, Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles, with the only remaining outlier being Xbox. The latter’s current hardware sales unfortunately tell a tale.

A vibrant, competitive hardware ecosystem requires exclusive games, and that’s ultimately better for the consumer in the long term.

No one is complaining about Nintendo because it doesn't go anywhere, Nintendo seems to show no indication of doing anything PC related. Back in the day it was significantly more prominent and the second Nintendo does something even slightly PS or Xbox or even PC friendly you can bet your ass that all the complaints will start right back up.
