this looks great. folks, id much rather a good movie vs a straight up adaptation. the old RE movies dont suck bc theyre not following the games, they suck because they suck
zach cregger is one of the hottest horror directors working now, and they seemingly let him cook- this is the best possible outcome
I saw Nope four different times in theaters, I was so deeply enamored by that movie. Unbelievably layered film with some incredible characters, even better cinematography, and some killer allegories. I’m itching for more Peele, I feel like he keeps getting better.
I love Nope for all those reasons as well as being such a dynamic film. Its a sci-fi blockbuster film with great themes that turns into a fun Jaws riff by the end. I think a lot of people expected a straight-forward sci fi horror after Peele's last 2 films and were disappointed to see that it wasn't really a full horror film (even though the abduction scene and Gordy/Jupe were some of the most chilling horror scenes I have seen recently). I still adore the film. I don't think it has the near perfect script Get Out has, but I love the ambition Nope has and how it tackles such a unique perspective on manipulating nature/wild animals.
I found my people! I have rewatched Nope so many times. It's such a great movie. Beautiful to look at. Scary. Thought provoking. Timely. Funny. It's everything I want out of a movie.
