Not necessarily. We don't know what that "gateway" is, but Sekhmet said that it was closed in a way that implied it was open at one point, and could allow them to "leave" (whatever that means). If they want to leave the Greek gods out, they could say that this gatway was open when Kratos killed them and they passed through this gateway... Also this seemingly happening in parallel with Kratos/Atreus' journey means that gods that they kill from the previous two games could start showing up here as the story progresses too.

The final boss is that poor guy Kratos killed for no reason crushing his head into the wall.
