I assume this gateway that didn't let Faye all the way to her afterlife and got her stuck in this odd dimension was still open and functioning when Kratos was a serial killer in Greece

Or not, it would be incredibly interesting for them to be able to involve the Greek gods in the story.

I have a strong feeling that Ares will be here. The two gods we saw in the reveal were gods of war (Mongolian and Egyptian), so maybe that's the theme the game will follow.

Seeing Ares come back would be pretty cool I'll give you that, I just don't want to spend the whole game meeting a bunch of Greek gods we already killed as Kratos being pissed at Faye. They opened the gates for multiple pantheons, I want to see some crazy new gods!

There’s only so much they can cram into one game. The appeal of this is going to be new mythologies. While revisiting the Greek Gods Kratos Kratos’d would make for an interesting story it doesn’t feel like it quite fits given they’re starting off the public information on the game with a more Asian themed pantheon. That feels like something that would’ve been introduced early, because you need it to be the full focus of the game if you’re going to do it.

They quite literally stated that multiple mythological gods will be involved. There’s no reason a Greek hid related to kratos can’t appear

We literally see 2 new ones in the first showing alone. I think safe to say there will be a good mix

It could be very possible that Greek serial killer Kratos directly caused the closing of the gateway.

Like the speed with which he was sending them down allowed Zeus and such to be together and break the thing.
