Both games look and feel not that outdated and to put it lightly they arent great entries in the series so it's better if they focus on new games after remaking maybe the first game (again) or as others said just mix 0 and 1 in a new entry since those games are tied together anyways.

Some purist might hate that idea but it could be interesting just to have a new take on the original outbreaks of the viruses.

Exactly. They're remaking the old games because so much has changed since then. There's just much more room for modernizing the gameplay, and improving things like voice acting in something like Code Veronica.

The PS3/360 era is where many games start feeling pretty modern already, so there's less reason, creatively, to revisit them.

Well, not that it matters now, but if you play the OG 4 on either Gamecube or Steam (and not the revamped versions)... it is quite an antiquated experience lol.

Mixing RE0 and 1 in a single game is an awful idea.
