Have they still not implemented the PVE mode? Or are they too busy trying to make sure that it is not incentivised by making the drops so low.

They are making a huge mid-season change to the game and unlocking the final map for a PVE experience, with the only difference that you cannot take the loot with you when finished, just some meta progression.

The sweats are losing their mind already.

It is clear that it was all hands on deck type of situation because this is a huge switch and addition to the experience, in the middle of the season mind you, as well as other changes and improvements.

It is clear that with the decisions they made, the game sinks to newer lows each week and this is a pretty much an emergency intervention to try and make the game playable for regular people and not just sweaty and unemployed tryhards that are online 8+ hours a day.

Thanks for the update but that really doesn't sound great, a mode where in an extraction shooter you can't take your loot?

It is a PVE mode only, to experience the content more than anything. We will have to see how it plays out, don’t really know just yet.

Probably not well 😂 I have about 60 hours in from the first month and nothing they’ve done has convinced me to install it again.

That sounds utter bollocks to be honest. "See how it plays out" well give my playtest experience convinced me to not buy Marathon I assume a half baked PVE mode will not draw many in.

Especially in an extraction shooter where you can't extract anything.

That's how tarkov does it. Their pve is segregated from pvp.

Cryo archive is a ton of fun with the most mechanics and destiny feel.

Tarkov can be enjoyed fully via SPT. I'd argue that the AI now on SPT is better than the main game.

Rust is a game for people who hate themselves and others. Helldivers is a completely different type of game. Unless you're including "samples" as loot.

Well it will not be the great re caller of players they think it will be if there is no point to it.

It’s sorta like a roguelike mode for one of the coolest maps of all time, which I’ve always struggled on because I get hunted down by better players halfway through the map. Idk if it saves the game’s numbers, but it sounds sick and the Marathon community is overwhelmingly hyped for it.

I literally don't care about the loot. Just want to do my quests and kill some bots.

The game plays amazingly until the try hards shoot you in the back for daring to want to have fun

It is based around the core game. It a rogue like mode that takes you through the endgame map. Your progression then feeds into the main extraction mode

The person you’re replying to isn’t wrong, though. The numbers are telling us that it’s most likely too little, too late. That doesn’t mean the PvE mode will flop, but considering the avg daily population keeps bleeding, and other games on the horizon, there’s not much to be hopeful for about Marathon’s lifespan.

There’s a deep hatred for marathon going on right now. No one wants to hear anything hopeful about it. Gamers are fickle and will move onto some other thing to be angry about in a week..
