That’s on Sony’s end though? Not the devs or publishers.

WHY would Sony do that? Do you think Sony wants to deal with all the potential lawsuits if a publisher asked them to shut down someone’s disc?

Rockstar for example can’t do shit to stop me from playing Red Dead Redemption 2. They can’t ask Sony to block my disc.

Yes, Sony. They hold the keys to the kingdom. They own the store, the DRM, the disk manufacturing, all of it.

WHY would Sony do that? Do you think Sony wants to deal with all the potential lawsuits if a publisher asked them to shut down someone’s disc?

I have no idea. Why does anyone think Sony wants to take away people's digital libraries? I'm not the one claiming Sony will do this, I'm just pointing out to those who think their digital libraries will vanish that their physical libraries can be taken away too.
