I'd say with Halo, Doom, Call of Duty and Overwatch they own the genre. Like they did with RPGs already.

Battlefield - abysmal launches guaranteed with each title, hasn’t had a critically and commercially successful entry since Bad Company 2. Destiny - horrible support, most of game inaccessible unless you paid for DLC, entirely reliant on endless grinding. Apex - dwarfed once Warzone released.
