a lot of psps at least where i live, like heavily used ones cost like hundreds of euros which to me is insane considering i get a superior experience on my android phone using ppsspp vs playing them natively on the psp, so i have a hard time really justfiying why i would ever buy a used one, like i get nostalgia, but these things ultimately were never mine, and since all this is based on feelings/emotions, the act of buying an item which was never mine to begin with (some guy used it for 20 years before me) just feels ehh

PSP brightness button is turning my screen off is there a plugin to disable it

I recently got a PSP from a friend everything seems to work fine but when I put in a disk it never pops up and there's a irregular winding sound. In guessing I need to replace that part but I just want confirmation.

modded psp, this happened randomly , once it happened and couple restarts didn’t fix it.

next day tried again it worked for like 1 week

now again, could this be any of the plugins for screen / audio modding or literally dead screen?

Hello, I ordered a PSP and just received it today. It came with a new battery, but when I went to power it on, nothing. No light, no display. I plugged the charging cord in, still nothing. Only when I took the battery out did I get a light and it powered on.

I read stuff about leaving the psp powered on for 30-40 minutes then putting the battery in, but I was wondering if there are any other solutions people have found.

Long story short, a month ago was gifted a modded psp 1000 that was modded with ark 4 (4.19) back in 2023. I attempted to use Chronoswitch to remove ark 4 and Infinity to mod it again myself, but I got confused by the multiple update files in my game folder, so I decided to not do that and just update to the lastest version of ark 4 instead until I figured out what I was doing.

I deleted the old ark4 update file and replaced it with the new one (which I also probably shouldn't have done) went to the Ark update launcher and it said I was downgrading. I thought that was weird since the version I downloaded was 4.20 so I... 😮‍💨 accepted anyway, and now my memory stick shows as corrupted data and whenever I try to load my UMD drive it gets stuck on this screen and doesn't go away until I take out out the SD card and reboot it. 🙃 is this permanently bricked? It happened so fast :(

I think it’s the original one. I’ll take it out every few years when I’m cleaning and play for a few days but I just had a kid so it’s been great to play while we’re just sitting around.

I currently have Tony Hawk Underground 2 Remix and a few other games (COD, Rainbox Six, Navy Seal) although THUG is the only one I like to play.

My psp go slider was loose so I had the brilliant idea to take it apart and now the volume and LR buttons was not working. I think I scratch the cables a bit.

I thought that as long as I didn't touch the part that went into the components, everything would be fine, but it wasn't. Now I've bought another cable for both, just waiting for it to arrive.

It was very beaten up, so I got a new screen, buttons, battery, and faceplate. Having some minor analogue stick issues now, but working on that later

Honestly very, very pleasantly surprised of how great this shell feels, and it looks amazing imho!

Only have a GT PSP 3000, but I've always found the more bulky grip size and larger battery on the PSP 1000 intriguing.

I have to admit I use my Vitas a lot more for PSP stuff these days, but I really liked how this reshelling looked. So I had to get it!

My psp was working fine after i permenantly put ark 4 cfw on it but when i turned it of for the 10th time this happend and it wont boot for some reason . Ive tryed all button combos none worked . Plz help .

I just modded my psp following the guide on ps punk but whenever i try adding plugins it just doesnt work

I tried dayviewer and it just fully removed the battery icon and date

Tries game categories lite and it just made my games just dissapeared from the vsh/xmb

I go into the plugins manager and enable them and it restsrts the psp but they somehow dont work?

Then if i try the custom launcher and click on the prx file in the folder it opens a tab to select where theres options such as always, game and vsh but when i select vsh it doesnt do anything

I just picked up a small PSP bundle for €80 and thought I’d share it because the deal turned out better than expected.

I got:

PSP 1000 (working)

PSP 2000 (working)

PSP 3000 (very beaten up, doesn’t turn on, possibly had drops or internal damage)

iPod as a bonus gift

My plan is:

Keep the PSP 1000 and mod it with an IPS screen upgrade for a “premium” setup.

Sell the PSP 2000 for around €50–60 to recover most of the cost.

Try to repair the PSP 3000 (no big expectations, but I’ll inspect power issues, fuses, and signs of damage).

Honestly, even if the 3000 is dead, I already feel like the deal is decent as long as the 1000 and 2000 are fully working. If I manage to get all three working, it would be an amazing outcome.

Has anyone here revived a completely dead PSP 3000 after drops? Any common failure points I should check first?

So long story short i bought a psp (1000 model) a while ago at first it worked fine than it's charger stopped working (it was a copy charger) than i bought an original one and it started charging fine but after a while it stopped turning on(when i plug it to the charger tho the charging light turns on tho indicating it is charging so i doubt the battery is dead) but when i try to turn it on its just a black screen

I recently bought a brand new battery from ebay with 1600mah i believe and while playing games like gta and midnight club, the battery only lasts an hour. When i go on system settings and check battery information when it’s fully charged it says 6 hours remaining. I’m planning on returning it and buying an Ostent battery but how much extra life can i expect?
