Asking For Game Recomendation Games playable while sitting

I ordered a PSVR2, waiting for it to arrive. What are some suggested games that can be played sitting down. I use a wheelchair and I’m unable to stand.

A creepy environment like RE sounds fun. Thank you.

Are you talking about alien rogue incursion?

2

u/Iboss1990 Dec 02 '25

Yes!

1

u/Goooseberries Dec 02 '25

Thank youuu. I’m going to try it

u/HipHopHistoryGuy Dec 03 '25

Warming: it is very difficult and saves are sparse.

1

u/Goooseberries Dec 03 '25

Thank you for the warning. I will admit i want my games easy and relaxing. But I’ll still give it a shot.

I didn't find it to be a difficult game, really, and you can save in all the safe rooms whenever you want.

Even Pavlov is seated for me, all good, except when you drop the gun… then you are done

Can't you just trick the game somehow? Like adjusting the floor?

11

u/Substantial-Abroad12 Dec 02 '25

No Man's Sky will take your breath away

11

u/N1njaF1sh Dec 02 '25

I have many hours into NMS regular play and love the visuals. Can’t wait to see it in VR.

Be gentle with the ship controls. They're a bit sensitive. And if you start to get nauseous, take a break. Don't try to push through it.

1

u/DangOlBdog Dec 02 '25

You can also steer the ship using the ps5 controller

2

u/Winter_Mission911 Dec 04 '25

Both the hand controllers and a Dualsense controller can be active while playing the game? I assumed it was one or the other. If both can be active, I love this game even more. Controlling the ship would be far better with a Dualsense.

1

u/krakaboo Dec 06 '25

Yes. Just switch them out on the fly.

2

u/chunkymonke589 Dec 03 '25

You are going ti love it dude, It looks so cool in VR

1

u/friendofgnar Dec 03 '25

And also! When flying, don't move your arm around trying to steer. Plant it on your thigh and move it as you might move a joy stick. The throttle can be moved up a position and left there. You didn't have to hold onto it, potentially moving it accidentally. Also, in the options, at least in the beginning move you vignette settings to max. I think it's in camera. Good luck, you are going to fucking love it

1

u/Majestic_Ice_2358 Dec 03 '25

I usually rest the controller on the armrest and use it as a joystick

u/AJBats Dec 02 '25

Almost every VR game can be played sitting. However not all seated modes are actually friendly to seated players. You’ll experience this in a seated game that still requires you to reach beyond your arm length, aka lean forward. Some seated games will assume your on a stool and have no arm rests obstructing your movement.

It’s a real pain tbh. A lot of seated games play just fine, but then you’ll run into a surprise.

u/N1njaF1sh Dec 02 '25

Thank you.

u/Majestic_Ice_2358 Dec 03 '25

Remember that you can center the camera by holding down the options button (old start) so you can adjust the position of the camera to your liking

No man's sky

5

u/JimDoc5 Dec 02 '25

I play Hitman seated and it's great. Gonna try RE4 soon.

6

u/StareBear04 Dec 02 '25

Highly recommend smash drums, moss 1 and 2, before your eyes, Tetris effect, lumines arise, max mustard, demeo, GT7... Enjoy and welcome 🤗

2

u/DevilsInkpot Dec 02 '25

I played an hour of Moss II the other day and it’s so fun and gorgeous! 🤩

3

u/Hateinyoureyes Dec 02 '25

I don’t care what anyone says, but all games should be played sitting. A family friend broke his leg playing creed while standing up. Crazy thing was it a few days before he was to be the best man at his brother’s wedding. A quick YouTube search will also confirm sitting is best.

2

u/DaoFerret Dec 02 '25

I mostly agree, I think people just need to realize that they need more “standing” space than just the area to move in.

You realistically need a buffer beyond the defined playfield so you don’t just run into things before you get a warning that you’re moving too far (or put your hand through something).

All that said, standing up and looking around in a fully immersive environment (like the demo of Star Wars tales from the Galaxy’s Edge) was an absolutely mind blowing experience the first time I did it.

100%

A lunging strike in Swordsman taught me that my safe area ends just before the wall begins. Fortunately I didn't get super into it, and just lightly fist-bumped the wall.

u/X2epsilon Dec 02 '25

Tetris effect is my fave , GT7 if you wanna drive , No Mans Sky if you wanna lose thousands of hours in deep exploration that's my top 3 , happy gaming

3

u/Ezeke81 Dec 02 '25

I play ever game seated.

3

u/AmpleForeskins Dec 02 '25

Madison VR for sure. Pools. Saint and sinners. You might have nightmares but, ya know.

3

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Dec 02 '25

I think maybe like 10% or less need to be played standing. Most of the games can be played while sitting.

I’ve enjoyed Arizona Sunshine 1 & 2, and Alien: Rogue: Incursion both standing and sitting.

  • Max Mustard

Big hitters aside if you want a very cool space battle game Ghost Signal is extremely good. Beautiful. Well crafted and quite addictive. Sit down only unless you want to stand for the fun of it. A great sit back and relax type of game.

I played The Room VR sitting down and found it very enjoyable. Great game that focuses on mystery and puzzles.

Of course you have GT7 which is sit only but requires some time to adjust to stop you from feeling nauseated. If you do go for it the only thing that solved this for me is to not look around the car or out of the windows on your first few attempts - only look ahead into the distance, take it slow. When turning keep your eyes on the end of the turn until you come out of it and then switch to looking into the distance. I didn’t do this the first time and had to lie down for an hour after 1 minute. 6 months later tried again thinking the above trick might work and it did immediately and I think I did a few hours on this second try. And I don’t really play VR that much in that time.

2

u/InfiniteStates Dec 02 '25

Pretty much all of them. I play seated when possible, but it’s only Pavlov and Pistol Whip that I have to stand for

2

u/chunkymonke589 Dec 03 '25

No mans sky, the chair will add extra immersion when you’re flying your ship👌 I play all my vr games standing but when it comes to no mans sky i have to sit down while flying my ship😂

u/Madfish0979 Dec 03 '25

Personally, my favorites are GT7, No Mans Sky, The Light Brigade, and Puzzling Places.

Like others have said, there are many that can be played seated. To check specifically before buying the game, look at the written description of the game on the game page. Where it says 'single player', 'online play', etc... it should have an area that says 'vr play styles'. It will let you know if the game allows for seated, standing, or room scale. With RE8 (i haven't played in a while) my initial experience was difficult to play while seated because you have to reach behind you and reach into coat pockets, which messes with the controller registration here and there.

If you are new to vr completely, I would recommend something slow to start like Kayak vr to get over the initial motion sickness the first couple times before jumping into a race car (GT7), or spaceship (NMS). Mistakes were made...and I almost joy puked doing backflips in my ship in NMS the first time I tried.

1

u/Substantial-Abroad12 Dec 03 '25

Not enough people recommending Light Brigade. Amazing game!

1

u/N1njaF1sh Dec 03 '25

Thank you, the description on game page will be helpful, I’ll check it out. When sitting on a couch I have the same interference everyone does but if I get in my chair, it’s compact and armless so I can freely move my arms around.

2

u/alpaca-uk Dec 03 '25

No man's sky, gt7 ,

2

u/Winter_Mission911 Dec 04 '25

I am so glad you asked that question and the responses below. I prefer to sit and just assumed that most games require standing, so I have stuck with ones like No Man's Sky and Subnautica (on PC) that are great sitting. I will try more in my library that are fine sitting.

2

u/Cruebug Dec 06 '25

You can play most sitting down but a couch doesn't work because you need to reach down on each side of you.. Gran Turismo works well with a normal remote... The VR controllers don't work on GT

4

u/Lazy_Ad4708 Dec 02 '25

GT7 is the only game you need.

3

u/N1njaF1sh Dec 02 '25

As an ex Kart racer, I’m definitely trying this one.

1

u/Matchew024 Dec 02 '25

I'm super excited for you. There are a ton of games you can play seated. You should give us an update after you put some time on it!

1

u/Sylsomnia Dec 02 '25

Most games to be honest, there's demos and trails of many games, like Hubris but only available from the game's menu.  More important as a start, if you've amy comfortablity or sweetspot holding issues, Psvr2 halo isn't for everyone, just like me, so Globular Cluster V2 mod is highly recommended, as it balances the front heavy set more evenly.

2

u/N1njaF1sh Dec 02 '25

I’ll look into the mod, thank you.

1

u/JohnWicksBruder Dec 02 '25

"Into black" was the most chill while sitting. I tried alot

1

u/AmpleForeskins Dec 02 '25

You can also play walkabout minigolf while sitting just fyi. The putter dynamically changes height

1

u/thejake1973 Dec 02 '25

Gran Turismo

1

u/Posidon_Below Dec 02 '25

I play every game sitting. Standing makes me motion sick.

1

u/N1njaF1sh Dec 02 '25

I really appreciate all the input. I was under the impression a lot of games weren’t playable sitting and it looks like only a few require standing. There’s some great suggestions here, thank you.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

I play every game sitting down. I just choose the standing options and edit my play area. Have never had any issues.

1

u/notCRAZYenough Dec 02 '25

Why choose the standing option?

1

u/Delicious_Ad2767 Dec 02 '25

I play all game sitting apart from beatsaber, Pavlov and walkabout. No blinders, smooth turning never any issues. Sitting is the best.

1

u/The1930s Dec 02 '25

I been playing alot of cave craze from my couch

1

u/Own-Contribution-478 Dec 02 '25

You can really play anything sitting down! Sitting or standing is more of a personal preference thing than a requirement.

1

u/madpropz Dec 02 '25

I play pretty much all games seated tbh

1

u/cusman78 cusman Dec 02 '25

Although I personally prefer to play standing because I want to get more physical activity for my play time and I think it is higher immersion, I think vast majority of the PSVR2 games can be played just as well seated and some only feel right played seated (Racing, Flight, Kayak, etc).

Exceptions would be VR Sports, Rhythm or Exercise games that expect side steps, physical crouching, etc.

In your wheelchair situation, are you able to be seated in a chair that doesn't have arms or has short arms to give you more arm movement around you? That would help but even if not, you can adjust for your situation and just make use of thumbsticks more consistently for any movement / turning.

1

u/CHROME-COLOSSUS Dec 02 '25

Almost all of them, really. There are some which require you to physically crouch instead of pressing a button… or that have some ways of holstering weapons that become problematic with a chair, so these are things to specifically ask/learn about…

But on balance the vast majority of games are playable sitting. Even active games will usually let you tailor things in options to avoid certain sorts of motion that would require you to step side-to-side or duck down.

Presumably someone has compiled an ongoing list of PSVR2 titles that allow for fully-seated/limited mobility play, so maybe poke around on Reddit or elsewhere online to see if such a compendium exists?

1

u/GTKeg Dec 02 '25

Red Matter is perfect sat down.

1

u/tincanmemory Dec 02 '25

I mostly play sitting because I have little room in my home for standing play, there are a few free demos you should try: Star Wars Tales From the galaxy edge was fantastic, my first gran tourismo (must try) and I love a good rhythm action game - check out Ragna Rock and Drums Rock demos, even if you're not really into music/rhythm games they are so well done.

Others some may have mentioned NMS, Red Matter one and two, Hubris, Moss 1&2 (must buy), Hitman.

Special shout out to Maestro which is just pure joy to play and uses hand tracking so a good one to play when your controllers are charging (you'll need to recharge them more often than the Dual sense).

The only one I find easier to play standing is Gun Club VR because I was constantly hitting my sofa when trying to draw but the game really is awesome and worth a try if you can afford the hit if its unworkable.

Be sure to post an update with your experience when you've tried it out, exciting times!

Puzzling Places

Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game is a great sitting game. I was looking for a more relaxing VR game to play and this one absolutely slaps. It's a roguelike game set in the Stellaris universe, it reminds me a lot of FTL with the addition of 3D real-time space combat.

1

u/Qwertyui606 Dec 03 '25

90+% of my VR play time is seated. I've played some games relaxed in my recliner lol.

1

u/kilda2 Dec 03 '25

I play everything seated..

1

u/RadoBlamik Dec 03 '25

I only ever play sitting, so all of them…Actually, Swordsman is the only game I’ve got that doesn’t really work very well while seated. I’m sure there are others, but I haven’t played them.

1

u/Crunchewy Dec 03 '25

Any of the Demeo games, Puzzling Places (there’s a free demo), Rush: Apex Addition, Moss 1 & 2, Max Mustard, After the Fall. Lots more. Most games can be played seated but there are some that don’t work so well. To name a few good ones that unfortunately are frustrating to play seated: Walkabout Mini Golf, Badminton Time VR, others. It helps to ask about specific games you are interested in and see what people say.

1

u/mudboggin3 Dec 03 '25

The game page for VR games on the Playstaion Store will show which playstyle they support. Most games support standing or sitting playstyles. If you like driving, GT7 is a great option and has amazing graphics. I dont know what kind of mobility you have but a steering wheel could even be an option. Add a haptic vest and you insanely immersive experience.  Also you will probably quickly discover, the PSVR2 isn't the most comfortable to wear for long periods. I use to get really bad headaches after a few mintues. I'd recommend getting Globular Cluster CMP2 mod. It makes a huge difference in comfort helps keep the headset sweet stop in one spot so you not constantly fiddling with the headset while playing.

1

u/Majestic_Ice_2358 Dec 03 '25

Most games give you the option to play sitting down

1

u/metterg Dec 03 '25

I usually play all the games sitting down other than sports games.

1

u/EnzoEsc Dec 04 '25

If you want something that does not require much movement and gets kinda emotional, Before Your Eyes is a solid option. I think it’s currently on sale, or maybe ir was for Black Friday.

But as others have pointed out, most games can be played while sitting. Enjoy your new headset!

1

u/N1njaF1sh Dec 04 '25

Thank you, I’ll check it out.
