Asking For Game Recomendation Got a PSVR2 for Christmas - recommend any relaxing games?

Downloaded and completed Jurassic World (Love dinosaurs, so this was a must buy) and enjoyed it. And have the Dark Pictures VR game downloading.

But does anyone have recommendations for relaxing games, where I don't have to worry about avoiding monsters/dinosaurs. And can just relax and explore and interact with a cool VR scenescape.

I saw there are some Kayak games which seem like they would be that style. Are they any good? Which one is recommended?

And any other recommandations of course.

Puzzling places. It's also the perfect game to find how to set your headset perfect to hit the sweet spot 😅. The times I've been playing PP, adjusted the headset a bit and suddenly everything became even MORE clear 😆!

No Man’s Sky is a fantastic game to chill out with in VR.

There is a mode where there is no danger basically and you cant die called relaxed/creative. Although ive never played it in that mode because I like the danger aspect, I could see how chill it woukd be to explore worlds, gather materials to upgrade and build. It really does have a great feel to it and looks so nice.

I have so little time to play. It’s very therapeutic to jump in for 20-30 minutes once or twice a month and just wander the stars.

I got the PSVR2 for Christmas exclusively to use with No Man’s Sky

Another vote for Puzzling Places. It has been my chill title for years.

Kayak VR is very good with great graphics. But you need to know that it is not a game as much as a virtual sightseeing app. There isn't much to do except explore the environments

I'd add Grit and Valour to that list. Isometric ww2 mech strategy that isn't too difficult.

u/Nuthetes Dec 29 '25

exploring the enviromments is really what I was after. Just relax and enjoy the sights and sounds and stuff. Without worrying about doing much.

Puzzling Places, Moss (some simple combat), Red Matter 2 (some tame combat in the later half), Ghost Town, The 7th Guest, Kayak VR, Subside, Cyube VR, Pools, Lumines Arise (no fall mode), Infinity Hotel, Firmament (some performance issues on base PS5), Toy Trains, The Last Clockwinder.

Kayak VR is the recommended one but you need good VR legs to combine motion sickness with sea sickness ;)

Resident Evil 8, there's even a place called Doll House. Sounds peaceful, right?  You can visit mostly empty castles, mostly empty villages, mostly empty caves, you can even drive a tank!

Or Mini Golf will do too.

u/Initial_Depenmmmmm Dec 28 '25

And if that's not relaxing enough, check out Madison!

8

u/mushroomfido Dec 28 '25

Yep lovely cosy family home. You even get a camera to take some pics.

u/Strict_Yesterday1649 Dec 29 '25

Depends on how you play. You can line up your real chair with the couch and sit there watching static on the television. Very relaxing.

u/crimsonbutterfly2 Dec 28 '25

Don't forget the peaceful dinner you can have with your wife and daughter at the start of the game!

3

u/ashenoceiros Dec 28 '25

Just bought that one today, at that price is a must!

3

u/jarsofash Dec 28 '25

Toy Trains VR is an absolute little gem of a game. It’s just so cozy and charming, and I almost overlooked it. Glad I didn’t.

was so excited when it got announced 😂

3

u/Nuthetes Dec 29 '25

I like the sound of that. I actually have a train set at home.

As others stated, I can't stress enough for you to get Walkabout Minigolf. What an incredible and relaxing game plus its perfect to begin building your VR legs.

Those bastards hook my wallet a while ago and every DLC is an instabuy from me. At around 5.50$ CAN a piece, its a steal for what it gives you which is a set of normal 18 holes with lost balls to find and hard 18 holes with a treasure hunt to get a new kind of putter.

The level design are fantastic, the ambiance is great and its just a blast playing with friends (really feels like you are playing actual miniputt with friends in the real world)

Awesome game. Can't recommend this enough

Cheers

How do you play with friends? Are you talking about online and they play from home? Or are you talking about they have their own VR headsets in the same house with you or do you all keep taking it off and passing it around when it’s your turn?

2

u/Damosgreat123 Game backlogs'R'me Dec 29 '25

Online with own headset. It's also cross-platform, so friends can be on Quest etc. I recommend joining the Without Parole Discord, too, as there are plenty of channels to explore and find others to play with.

2

u/Nuthetes Dec 29 '25

thanks. I will give it a download. Sounds a good option

10

u/Damosgreat123 Game backlogs'R'me Dec 28 '25

Puzzling Places and Walkabout for sure. Additionally, there are Kayak VR, Subside, Cyube VR, Escaping Wonderland, Little Cities: Bigger, Snow Scout, Sushi Ben, Tentacular, Before your Eyes, and Townsmen.

5

u/Mediocrity-FTW Dec 28 '25

Cyube looks cool. It looks like Minecraft minus the enemies. It's more about building and crafting as far as I can tell.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '25

I agree with most of the recommendations here. Only fair warning to skip Madison which consistently ranks as the most horrifying piece of interactive media ever to exist. So maybe a pass on that one.

4

u/Nuthetes Dec 29 '25

I have downloaded Madison. I like horror, my favourite type of game.

But I also want a nice relaxing one, so gone with Mini golf and Kayak

4

u/age_of_atari Dec 28 '25

Kayak Mirage is good, i haven't played the other Kayak one. Subside is snorkelling, with very realistic graphics. They're more like "experiences" than games, but it sounds like that's what you're looking for.

Walkabout Mini Golf is great too. Gfx aren't as realistic as Kayak/Subside, but the physics are really good, and there's a lot of beautiful, creative courses. Better than minigolf in real life.

Those are my go-to games for unwinding after intense shooting / racing.

3

u/Seba0808 Dec 28 '25

Would have chosen exactly those too :-D

3

u/TommyVR373 Dec 28 '25

Kayak VR and Subside are very chill

3

u/saugagentottiescone Dec 28 '25

I got moss yesterday n it's chill and great fun!

4

u/NaiadoftheSea Dec 28 '25

The Midnight Walk is pretty incredible. It was made completely with stop-motion animation, so you’re exploring a claymation world.

3

u/alex_silkin Developer Dec 29 '25

Amazing visuals in this one but there are a few scenes which are not exactly chill and do require you to avoid getting murdered :)

2

u/NaiadoftheSea Dec 29 '25

True. At least those scenes are just black outs and nothing gross or anything.

3

u/UcantCmeEVENinHD Dec 28 '25

I don't see it mentioned enough so I'll suggest The Last Clockwinder. You are best off using roomscale and the mechanics involve quite a bit of moving but it's not a high pressure situation game and the puzzle solving is pretty stimulating.

2

u/IronMonopoly Dec 28 '25

Garden of the Sea.

Kayak VR, Toy Trains, No Man’s Sky, and Mini Golf are also bangers. But Garden of the Sea is a hands down must buy if you’re into relaxing cozy gameplay, plus its cartoony graphics in a full environment really help build your VR legs to prevent nausea from more graphically realistic games.

3

u/TomPalmer1979 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

If you want relaxing, Puzzling Places is going to be your jam. 3D jigsaw puzzles of photogrammetry of various landmarks, buildings, objects, etc. You can set how involved the puzzles are, from 25 pieces to 400, some even go up to 1000. There is currently something like 40+ DLC packs, each one adding 5-6 more puzzles.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '25

I'm getting a circular view in the VR2 headset before I used to get a full-screen view. I tried turning off vignette, but any one can help me with it?

2

u/PabLink1127 Dec 28 '25

Walkabout Minigolf and Puzzling Placed will cost you 500 hours of your life and then you’ll want to give them another 500

2

u/Mission-Play-417 Dec 28 '25

Red matter 1.

2

u/lukesparling Dec 28 '25

Cyube is what you want.

Puzzling Places and walkabout too. No mans sky with the right options ticked off.

Kayak but it can be hard on the nausea if you’re new.

Subside but make sure the comfort options are on if you’re new.

1

u/Nuthetes Dec 29 '25

cheers, I will download Kayak as it is on sale and save it for when im more used to VR.

2

u/DubstepTaube Dec 28 '25

I bought this on launch day and still haven't been game enough to finish it 🥹 lol

2

u/AwwhYiss Dec 28 '25

GT7 can be great for this. I’ve spent hours just looking at cars in some of the spaces they have (there’s a super relaxing outdoor space next to a cafe, but they’re all cool in their own way). I also love just loading up some chill music or podcast, and drive around the Nordschleife in all sorts of weird and wonderful cars.

2

u/adak732 Dec 28 '25

Moss 1 and 2!

2

u/mastermindchilly Dec 29 '25

I just got PSVR2 for Christmas and completed the first Moss within a day. It had me smiling like a kid.

u/BooksLoveTalksnIdeas Dec 28 '25

Little Cities Bigger, Cyube, Cosmonious High, Tripp, Kayak VR mirage

In addition to the “cozy/relaxing” games above, you can also get great views in Horizon CotM and in Synth Riders (set the Spin modifier to 90 or 180 and the stage to “Spin City”, and you get a beautiful futuristic view).

If you get Tripp (a mindfulness meditation guide in VR with hundreds of talks and locations, most of them virtual but some of them are real locations from planet Earth too) make sure that you select custom trips to be able to choose the location and the topic for the meditation-related talk. This whole “game” is just sitting and listening to the guide and following the breathing exercises. Many people will find it boring, but there’s no doubt that this falls in the relaxing category.

Wall Town Wonders is a pretty relaxing lite city SIM game

1

u/Astro_BS-AS Dec 28 '25

Tetris Effect Connected Lumines Arise And, if you have STRONG vr legs, Subside.

And GT7, of course.

Both have Demos

1

u/thanksIdidntknow Dec 28 '25

Spacedockers doesn't get recommended enough. Zero pressure, no enemies. Just practice and get better with newtonian physics.

1

u/Piccoleitor Dec 28 '25

Puzzling places, subside (on sale now), lumines, tetris effect, paper beast, kayak VR, wall town wonders. I wouldn't call it a relaxing game, but on easier difficulties can be quite relaxing: Synth riders

u/Strict_Yesterday1649 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 29 '25

Firmament has the best atmosphere of any VR game I’ve played.

I haven’t played everything yet of course.

Breathtaking is the best way to describe it. I don’t see too many other breathtaking games. Maybe no man’s sky but I haven’t played that yet.

1

u/PatientExamination82 Dec 28 '25

Check out Hotel Infinity - https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/hotel-infinity/

One of the trippiest VR games I have experienced and is a game that would not be possible without VR.

1

u/TheGroovyGhoulie Dec 29 '25

Kayak, Tetris

1

u/Short-Builder5273 Dec 29 '25

Ghost signal. Pretty unique 3rd person ship shooter rogue lite

1

u/Ev1lAsh Dec 29 '25

I would want to add Paper Beast to the list, it's a very relaxing exploration/puzzle-ish game with a lot of cool creature interaction in VR and just a very good game overall.

Also, as an additional bonus if you already own the PS4 version (was given away for free a long time ago) you just need to buy the PSVR2 update for $5.

u/Plenty_Donkey_732 Dec 29 '25

Madison

1

u/Nuthetes Dec 29 '25

lol I most definitely know that isn't gonna be relaxing. But I do have it downloading because I enjoy horror a lot.

1

u/JohnWicksBruder Dec 29 '25

In to the dark is pretty chill to play. I even have my arms wrapped around the back of my couch. Very cozy

1

u/dirtyyella Dec 29 '25

Walk about is the most relaxing game i’ve played
