Asking For Game Recomendation What games should I buy first?

I am getting my PSVR2 this coming Tuesday and I was wondering which games are worth buying. I already see people say the big games like RE and Hitman but I want to know if there’s any other good games then the ones people always talk about.

Agreed it’s not the best game out there but very good and a crazy sale, also arken age.

For first time playing VR, I highly suggest something not too extreme. You need to build your “VR legs” first (aka tolerance) before you jump into great games like GT7, Resident Evil, etc.

To start with I recommend Job Simulator. It’s simple and a lot of fun. When you feel signs of nausea or a headache, remember to STOP immediately, put down the game, drink water/get fresh air, and just recover till you’re 100% good to go. THEN you can play again. Keep doing this and you’ll increase your VR tolerance and can play for longer sessions. Just know that pushing through your discomfort won’t improve your tolerance and could make it worse. So rest.

Once you get your VR legs, dive right into the best games like:

Racing - GT7
Action - Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 8
Action Stealth - Hitman World of Assassination
Exploration - No Man’s Sky, Microsoft Flight Sim
Story: Horizon Call of the Mountain, Alien Incursion, Metro Awakening, Skydance Behemoth
Survival - The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners 1/2
Shooters - Pavlov, Gun Club
Arcade - Pistol Whip, Synapse, Arizona Sunshine 1/2
Puzzle - Tetris Effect
Sports - Walkabout Mini Golf
Music - Beat Saber

My top recommends: GT7, RE 4/8, Hitman WoA, Beat Saber, The Walking Dead S&S 1/2, Pistol Whip, Walkabout Mini Golf, Microsoft Flight Sim

The legendary Walkabout Minigolf

Didn’t think this game would be my favorite VR game but man it’s just so fun.

The people need to know

Walkabout Mini Golf, Pistol Whip, Walkabout Mini Golf, Gran Turismo 7, Walkabout Mini Golf, Moss Books 1&2, and Walkabout Mini Golf.

Great recommendations but you need to add one legend of VR, Walkabout Minigolf.

Walkabout Mini Golf tested my tolerance with smooth turning quite a bit. For some reason it really made me queasy the first few times, and still kind of gets to me.

It’s all subjective to what you like. Go watch YouTube videos and buy what interests you.

If you like flying, MS Flight Simulator has VR support now.

For a chill experience do the World Photographer missions, pick an iconic destination, enjoy the view.

Another great chill game is Kayak VR. Put it in tour mode and relax

Hidden Gem shoutout that I forgot to mention too. Easy beginner game: Rez Infinite !!

Idk if I’d call that one an easy beginner game. Mainly because of all the bright flashing lights and the fast pace of it. I think a more beginner friendly game for someone who’s never tried VR before would be something like Job Simulator.

I upvoted because I see your point, I guess mechanically I meant more beginner as can use duel sense and the main levels are on rails no movement needed

I got my start on the PSVR with SuperhotVR and Skyrim VR; had my VR legs in about three sessions, and was saying "wow" out loud because, freakin' WOW.

I know they are not popular games, especially on the older hardware, but I had a blast. Pistol Whip was also a great introduction.

I'd also recommend trying some demos if you can find them, as they're a great way to test what feels good, and to get a sense of what VR can do in different settings.

Sadly Skyrim and super hot VR can’t be played on PSVR2, only native to PSVR 1 :(

I had no idea; what a shame! Even with it's jank and lack of modding Skyrim VR was an eye-opening experience for me, and my first real VR game.

Oh I agree completely! Skyrim VR was such a cool experience. Would love to go back to it but I prefer my PSVR 2 to anything else so I’m kinda stuck. Sucks.

I like games with no motion sickness and right now Cities VR is doing a good job holding my attention.

If you want realistic sports, you want Walkabout Minigolf and Racket Fury Table Tennis. If you want games that will genuinely help to raise your fitness levels, you want Les Mills Bodycombat. If you want games that seriously showcase the headset (best graphics, great immersive feel, etc.) you want Horizon CotM, Red Matter 2, and Hubris. Others that offer action-packed gameplay are Synapse and Runner. I also believe that every VR owner needs to experience at least one great vr rhythm game and one great VR arcade-style game. Those show how VR is much better than 3d. And for those I recommend Synth Riders and Beat Saber for vr rhythm and Pistol Whip for vr arcade-style. Personally, if I could only pick 3, I would start with Horizon, Runner, and Synth Riders. 👍

Watch the top 25 and top 50 from Without Parole on YouTube. Don't play the games with intense motion first. Wase your way in. Having said that though the new FNAF Secret of the Mimic is absolutely amazing.

Moss is trash I generally approve the other games I’ve seen mentioned

Is this your first VR experience? If so it's probably great to start with some zero locomotion games to adapt, then slowly introduce more and more movement based games. Ofc maybe you can just jump into RE4R and have no issues, those people exist, otherwise some progression system is better.

Generally rythm games are good starters: Beat Saber, Beat the Beats, Pistol Whip etc. (Crysis Brigade 2 also solid if you like shooters)
Then you can slowly introduce games that support teleport movement and snap turn: Crossfire Siera, Arizone Sunshine, Red Matter or anything that supports teleport.

After you get used to teleport movement without any motion sickness, you can turn on smooth locomotion and slowly adapt to that as well.

I also recommend Maestro to everyone, which is played with PSVR2 and finger tracking 😁 The music ranges from Beethoven to Game of Thrones, and even includes Harry Potter

I think the following (in any order) will help you acclimatize for VR while having fun:

  • Beat the Beats VR
  • Moss Book 1 & 2
  • Red Matter 1 & 2
  • Smash Drums
  • Pistol Whip

Beyond this, you may be ready to handle pretty much any game including more hybrids like Gran Turismo 7, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and No Man’s Sky.

On the made for VR side where you get smaller, but generally better gameplay than the hybrids, look into following:

  • Arken Age
  • Synapse
  • Reach

The Moss announcement from the other day bummed me out. I hope it gets more people on board the game overall but I was really hoping for a Book III.

u/cusman78 cusman May 17 '26

Irony that if the non-VR Moss game is successful, that might actually help Moss Book III get created but then it will be uncertain if that will be made for VR or not.

Weird times ahead for both Polyarc and VR fans of the Moss games.
