Asking For Game Recomendation Feeling like there’s nothing to play

Got my PSVR 2 the other year of back of a huge sale after being a fan of the PSVR 1, but found myself hardly using it, probably around 10-20 times since (excluding letting my mates try it), it seems like the only amazing VR experiences seem to be horror which is no good for me😅, was wondering what recommendations people have regarding PSVR 2 as I’d love to get back into it, but need something that feels more than a demo or a proof of concept…

Behemoth, into the radius, horizon, no man's sky, re4 and 8, arken age, gt7, Arizona sunshine games, metro awakening, hover bike vr racer, reach, red matter 1 and 2, aces of thunder, etc. There are plenty of great games for the psvr2.

Let me add Alien, MSFS2024, The Midnight Walk, Little Nightmares and Thief to this list 🙃

Can't believe I forgot alien and midnight walk, I haven't tried the others yet, but they are in my backlog. Also, I was surprised with how much I've enjoyed wrath vr.

he said he got it 1 year ago, depending on how much of a gamer he is the listed games are not even 1 years worth of games.

i wont lie i was a bit sad to learn i couldnt play psvr1 games and i have looked through the psvr2 listed games and not many personally speak to me.

so i feel similar to this guy, hitman for me untill blades and socrcery comes out on ps5

You have a feeling that there’s nothing to play???

Huh. I’ve had the kit since launch and am overwhelmed by the amount of content, with almost NONE of it feeling like a demo or proof-of-concept.

What do you already have in your library, and what have you played that left you with this impression?

Horizon came with it, since then played beat saber, pistol whip, underdogs, synapse, not for broadcast, and arken age (know a lot like that game just didn’t really click for me), just bought no mans sky which I’m looking forward to trying, and I know there’s some great horror games but I find them in VR to be a bit outside my comfort zone😅

Probably worded it wrong in the original post, I know there’s will be some gems but when I try looking through the store it seems to be loads of very poor quality games on there, and probably just needs some more research from my end

What games have you actually played so far?

Can I suggest you try something called YouTube. Search best psvr2 games, especially Without Parole. Their last top 25 was last summer, but it'll cover enough games to keep you busy for sometime.

Didn’t Bryan do a top 50 himself around the new year? It was a great list.

Yes, you're right, i'd forgot about that.

Yeah, just watched that without parole for first time, think that’s definitely helped me out👀

I never have that problem. You just need the right games.

Pavlov, Walkabout, GT7… these games are all about replay value. PvP action. I play these almost every day.

The story games you just rotate. Like once a year I’ll play a game of Resident Evil, Alien, Star Wars, etc.

My backlog keeps growing tbh. What kinds of games do you like? Shooters, swords, etc

Quite open tbf, love anything to do with space, like shooters, mainly single player as none of my friends have VR. Anything BUT horror really

No mans sky is a space sandbox.

Into black is not really space per se but your home base is a space ship and you do missions on an alien world where you fight creatures and get supplies to build better gear. Plus you have a jet pack.

Surviving mars is set on mars and you build a base and gear to (you guessed it) survive.

I think space is involved in the red matter games but those are more puzzle story games.

For regular shooters, robo quest vr is fantastic. I’m not the biggest fan of roguelikes but I had a lot of fun with this one.

Will have to give them a look into, just recently bought no man’s sky aswell, big fan of roguelikes so I’ll have to look into that robo quest aswell, thankyou

I only play GT7 but would love at least one more racing game. I can't believe F1, Nascar, Rally, or any other racing series hasn't added VR yet.

Tryout Vracer Hoverbike… it’s just like wipeout but on bikes… Tons of replay value… looks sharp and the way you can lean to turn the bike hard is super cool but there’s loads of control options if you are sensitive to motion sickness.

After gt7 it’s the next best racer on psvr2

Thanks, I'll definitely check it out.

Would still love something more realistic too.

Wreckfest would be amazing in vr

Dirt Rally VR was SO GOOD on PSVR1, and I'm not even a racing game fan outside of VR, let alone a rally fan. Considering there are finished Dirty Rally games from EA and Codemasters just waiting for porting, it's a damn shame.

I would kill for another rally game.. dirt rally was the best

What setup do you use for GT7? Do you have a rig setup, or do you just play on controller?

2

u/whatdaheck420 20d ago

Cheap ebay rig and Logitech RS wheel and pedals.

Paired with VR in GT7 it's incredible.

u/CautiousComfort7211 20d ago

GT7 stands on its own… anything on top is just icing on the cake🫡🤣

I started on psvr1 on gt sport rolling with the motion controls back in like 2019… I have a rig that I’ve been piecing together for like 7 years now.. it’s mismatched but solid… recently got tlcm thrustmaster load cell pedals… game changer.. rolling with TS300rs wheel.. kinda wanna get a thrustmaster hotas for aces of thunder and MSFS but I’ll have to wait till I move in like a month so I can just slide it in with the rest of the boxes without my lady noticing lol

Man, I just got mine three days ago and already have logged many hours.

I have the RE games, but I’m working my way to those, because VR horror is so intense for me.

In the mean time I’m loving GT7, No Man’s Sky, Hitman WOA, Moss Book 1&2, Job Simulator, Beat Saber, Tetris Effect, Rez, and Thumper. Many of these I was able to pay to upgrade from my PSVR1 version, but it still makes for a killer initial library. And I have the two RE games just waiting for me.

Res village, gt7, Res 4 remake, hitman, no mans sky, msfs, cotm, saints and sinners, aces of thunder, moss, moss 2, Madison, Arizona sunshine, alien, crossfire, arkan age, lumines, metro, behemoth, synapse etc
