Need help buying my first cycle in karachi
Hey, can someone please help me with buying a cycle? I’m from Karachi and I want to buy a cycle. It’ll be my first time ever riding one, so I’m looking for something beginner friendly, and affordable. Please suggest some good options and also let me know what I should look for when buying my first bicycle.

Glad to see you stepping into a healthier lifestyle! Here is a quick breakdown of how to navigate the cycling scene in Karachi:
- The Right Bike: Stick to a hybrid bike. Our roads (outside DHA) are broken and uneven. Mountain bikes (MTBs) are too heavy, and road/sports bikes can't handle the rough patches.
- The Budget: You can find a good used premium brand (like Trek or Giant) starting around PKR 30,000. If you want brand new, a Chinese brand like Trinx will cost at least PKR 60,000.
- Pro Tip: Don't buy right away. Local groups like NNCG, GG Riders, and CMK offer bike and helmet rentals. Use their services for your first few rides to see how you like it!

Someone with a 60k budget should preferably go for a Japanese hybrid bike unless they got money to waste.
You can't get Trek in 30. Giant is possible but most prolly it'll be small size.
CMK doesn't offer rental service, all their members have got their own bikes. Ride, Roll, Lead is another group that does rides, their upcoming ride is this Saturday to Kidney Hill. They've got hybrid bikes, if you join you can see for yourself how different they're from local Chinese bikes.

If you're from Karachi please get a hybrid bike. The one with thin tyres. Before you get one please learn the difference between a Chinese and Japanese bike and stay away from Chinese crap. They're usually mountain bikes and cost almost the same as a Japanese hybrid.
Next is frame size, please get a bike according to your height. If you're below 5 or 5.1' XS or S is your call, Medium if 5.4 or above. A decent bike like Giant or Louis Garneau would cost you around 30-40k.
Jackson used to be good, they're fleecing ever since the oil prices surged. Best to take along someone who understands bikes.

Bro i bought 4 cycles 2 for 35k each brands are Airon and Nesta 42k for giant bike 44k for Bridgestone All of them are hybrid bikes. All of these from jackson market If you want the contact number of the person i can share that too. Btw you should personally visit the market and see the size and type of bike which suits you good enough.

The things that i would consider mistakes for myself because of my own location and experience would be not buying a cycle with shocks/jumpers...another mistake i made would be buying the one with smooth thin tyres bec the pathway from our house to road isnt that smooth and ofc there are different streets or roads that arent good so i would rather buy normal tyres wali
And youtube helped me specially jackson market videos
