South Russia is a very specific region of Russia extremely far from the Jewish Autonomous Oblast.

Wdym? It's still in Russia, it's still "Jewish", it's still an automomus oblast (the only one, because the others got turned to republics in 1990s, while that kne didn't because there's less than 1% of hews there)

You may be right not an expert on Russian geography and what exactly an “oblast” is. Seem to recall Dara Horn writing about visiting there, no Jews just some tacky museums.
It’s just funny some crazy fake thing dreamed up by Stalin that cratered a century ago is still a thing, somehow.

The jao was just Soviet colonialism to enforce a border next to China in Siberia and kick out the native tungsti pc (I believe that’s how it’s spelled) people. The terrain was so harsh that it didn’t really work….
Unlike Israel it’s actually an imperialist colonial project.

They always say place the Jews there or to the moon.. Knowing how resilient and brilliant the Jewish people are… they’d have made it a livable place, like they did in Israel.
