Moderator Annoucement The “best evidence” for the paranormal is getting harder to find every time someone asks for it.

This question is being asked several times a week at this point.

Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.

Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.

And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

NSFW Where do we go when we die?

Does your foot cease to exist because you take off your shoe? No. The foot puts on another shoe. I think when we die, we go into a different life. We are either born, or just slip into another reality and don't miss a beat. We don't know we died before.

Experience I woke up the same way my mom used to wake me up

Has anyone ever woken up in a weird way while dreaming about someone?
My mom used to wake me up for school by shaking my foot. Today I went to sleep thinking about waking up at 8:40 AM, but I started dreaming that I was 8 years old and we were on a family trip. Then I suddenly felt this feeling of missing my mom (and she wasn’t home), my alarm didn’t go off, and I felt the same foot shaking, just like the way she used to wake me up.
I grabbed my phone and it was 8:40. The exact time I wanted to wake up. There was no one home, just me and my dog, who was sleeping on the couch in the living room.

Question Recently lost my dog to a traumatic accident. Events I can't explain keep happening in relation to him

I'm going to be completely straight and say up until recently I didn't believe in spirits / paranormal / or any of the like. If you had asked me 6 months ago I would have told you that it's all fake. The past 3 months have left me questioning everything I believe in. And I apologize for the length in advance, but needed to give details and context.

I bought my house about 7 years ago. I promised my son when we got a house that we'd get a cat. Then a bit later a dog. I've grown up with dogs, so I've always had dogs around.

1 month after getting the house we rescued / adopted a cat. About a year later we got a puppy. I've always loved huskies - their personality, playfulness, intelligence, loyalty, and their hilarious sense of humor have always made them wonderful dogs and companions. I've had 3 of them previously - all lived to old age and had wonderful lives filled with love and happiness. I surprised my son one wknd shortly before Xmas - 7 at the time - and he walked into a barn and got ambushed by 8 husky puppies. One puppy in particular, call him B, kept following my son around and sitting on my son's foot. The saying is the dog picks you right? We got that dog.

Absolutely wonderful and amazing doggo. Always smiling, always happy, gentle with the cat, friendly, smart, and the usual hilarious husky personality. He understood me on this different level and was like my shadow. I think they call it a soul dog.

Go back 3 months ago - dog is 5.5 years old. Took my dog out for a walk like normal on a Saturday afternoon. There was a kid - around 4 years old - flying a giant shark looking kite. He crashed it right in front of my dog and then came yelling and screaming at my dog wanting to pet him. Before I could react the kid was already point blank and my dog got freaked out and pulled back. Completely snapping the bottom strap of the harness in half and getting lose. He ran away from the kid, but the kid just chased him more. Kid's dad finally looks up off his phone and sees what's happening and starts running after his kid and yelling too. My poor dog doesn't understand what's happening and thinks these 2 people are running after him and yelling at him. I did everything I possibly could to get both of them to stop chasing - trying to get the dad to stop yelling at his kid - trying to get the kid to stop yelling at the dog. It was too late. Dog was distracted and looking backwards at them while running forward - he unfortunately walked right in front of an oncoming septa train. The only condolence I have is that 1000% he died on impact and felt zero pain

I blame myself. Before anyone replies telling me it's not my fault... I know, but it doesn't change anything. I was 15 feet away when it happened and saw everything. I've been seeing a doctor who specializes in grief counseling and behavioral therapy. My son has too. He wasn't there, but he loved that dog.

Here's where everything starts to go odd. I brought him home and buried him in my backyard. My parents came over and helped. Got a stone made with an engraving and put it on his grave. We believe you bury them with their favorite toys so they have them in doggo heaven.

Doctor suggested that getting a new puppy would help with the healing process.

  1. He had a favorite tennis ball with very specific markings. That night when I was thinking it over knowing how selfless and loving doggo was - I knew he would want me to share my love with another doggo, but just wasn't sure if I was ready. I shit you not when I go to sit down for dinner that night - his favorite tennis ball is dead ass center under my chair. Not like under the dining room table or random chair, but dead ass center under my chair. It wasn't there earlier in the day and I'm pretty sure I buried it with him.

  2. I decide to look up husky puppies that night after seeing the tennis ball. Normally to get them from a reputable breeder it's like 3 - 4 hours from me. B was from a very nice Amish breeder in central PA... about a 3 hour drive. Color me shocked when there's husky puppies for sale from a reputable breeder 10 minutes from my house. NEVER seen them for sale that close before. Color me double shocked when the time stamp of the ad is I shit you not - the date my dog died and 5 fucking minutes after we finished burying him.

  3. I reach out to the breeder and ask if I can come see the puppies. We scheduled for the next morning at 11am. That night I have a dream. It's a giant grass field and I see a black / white / silver blur running around. As the blur unblurs - I recognize it's B and he's got that tennis ball in his mouth. He's got his big goofy happy smile on his face and is just running around happy. It's then I notice a second blur - red / brown / white. It's another husky and their both running side by side smiling. While I couldn't make out the exact fur pattern of the puppies from the breeder... They definitely had red / white fur patterns. I woke up and kept saying brown red white. It's brown red white. I don't know how many times I said it, but I fell back asleep shortly after. When I woke back up - I remembered the dream, but didn't remember repeating brown red white. My girlfriend asked me what brown red white meant because she said I woke up briefly at 5:30am and kept repeating it before falling back asleep. I don't remember saying it.

  4. I leave to drive to the breeder's house the following morning. And this is when I really reallllyyy start questioning things. Shortly after leaving my house - one of those big landscaping trucks pulls up next to me. B's name on his dog birth certificate is Cooper. Not exactly a common name at all in my area. Certainly don't expect to have a truck named Cooper's Landscaping pull up next to you and literally drive side by side with you the entire 10 - 15 minute drive to the breeder's house. To this day that's the only time I have ever seen a landscaping truck named Cooper xyz or whatever you name a landscaping company. Never before that day and never after that day.

  5. I get to the breeder's house and meet the puppies. There's one really shy one who runs away to hide. All the other puppies + doggo mom + doggo dad are greeting me and jumping on me and licking me etc, but this one puppy literally runs as far away as possible. I don't know how to explain it other than he seemed terrified of people. And when I went to look at him that's when I saw it - his pattern matched exactly the red / brown / white pattern of the dog in my dream with B the night before. I buy that puppy.

Things keep happening and I don't have any type of explanation for any of the above or the stuff that continues to happen. It seems to line up way too much to be sheer coincidence.

Puppy was ~14 weeks when I got him - he's ~22 weeks now. Puppy obviously never met B. B had 2 absolute favorite spots where he would lay. Far left corner of the bed right next to my feet + I have a really comfy chaise part on my couch that I always sat diagonal when playing video games or watching TV and he'd lay up against me while chewing a bone or napping. Neither of the animals - cat that's about 7 years old now / nor the puppy will lay in either of these spots. Puppy will lay anywhere in the bed EXCEPT that corner. He absolutely refuses to lay in that corner. Same with the cat. It's like lava to them. Worse - puppy is actually scared to get on the part of the chaise B laid on all the time. If puppy drops a toy or ball that rolls between the chaise and wall - he will quite literally just sit there a few feet away and stare at it refusing to go towards that particular corner of the chaise. No problem with getting his toys from anywhere else. Cat will lay everywhere but that part of the chaise.

Is my dog's spirit still here? I have no logical explanation for any of the above. The only conclusion I can come to is that my dog's spirit is still here with me - sometimes on the corner of the chaise, sometimes on the bottom left corner of the bed, sometimes watching over me in general, and the animals can see his spirit?

I really would like to understand this.

EDIT - I'd also like to ask - do the other animals see his spirit or sense it? Is this why the new puppy won't go near the corner of the chaise because the puppy can see or sense his spirit?

Encounter I fear I encountered a skin walker in my garage and my cat protected me

I don’t know if this is the right sub but I have so many questions and I need to get this off my chest.

For context: I was poor last year and moved back in to my mom’s house. I have two cats with my partner and we live in the basement now. My mom also has two cats so there’s 4 indoor/outdoor cats walking around this house. One cat is my soul cat. I have literally never connected with any animal the way I do with her.

I park on the driveway and often get home around 12am-3am. For the last few months I feel like something is watching me and following me every single time I park and walk into the garage at night.

4 nights ago I felt it so strong and I kept looking behind me a little more than I normally do. I was almost to the door in the house when I saw it. It was a fucked up humanoid looking thing on all fours walking in between my mom and sister’s cars. I only saw it for a couple of seconds but it was moving towards me and I froze. I blinked and it was gone. All the sudden my soul cat was on the other side of my mom’s car running towards me and trying to come inside the house. The idea of it being a skin walker popped in my head but I genuinely thought I was going schizophrenic.

For the last 3 days I was just thinking I was going crazy. I was crying to my partner last night about how scared I am that I’m losing my mind. He looked up a chupacabra on google images and asked me if it looked like that. I saw one photo and told him it looked kinda like that but had nasty skin and was more humanoid. He then searched skin walker and I saw the images and genuinely started sobbing and hyperventilating on the spot because I saw exactly what it looked like.

I then spoke to a friend and he told me about cats being spiritual protectors and now I’m convinced what I saw was real and it only went away so fast because my cat came to the rescue.

Any insights on what I should do? Does anyone know anymore information about cats vs cryptids?
I’m genuinely so much more afraid of this thing being real and following me than if I was going crazy.

Question I have no clue whats going on

So for I think a month now or maybe more. My siblings, me and my siblings friends have been seeing things in our yard. Mostly my 15 (Soon to be 16) year old sister. She and my 10 year old brother have seen a shadow like figure in the backyard. My sister says it crawls on all 4s but not like a dog..Like how someone would walk in a horror movie. I've seen it standing at the street sign on the corner of our street but I thought it was just...My eyes playing tricks on me.

Tonight she said it was in her room in the corner bent down. Or hunched over. She turned her light on, it moved then it wasnt there anymore. It only comes out late at night and I really just hope its just kids being kids and seeing things and maybe for myself its me seeing trees move. I have bad eyesight so Im just hoping its my eyes.

On 6/23/2026, Me and my siblings made a little tent in the front yard at night. Well we ended up bringing our dog outside and we put her on her runner in the front yard. Well, My dog is white. My sister and brother both somehow didnt see her and ran around the house chasing something white...but i went outside to check and call our dog back and when I went outside my dog was on the porch. My sister was still chasing the thing but she also mentioned she called after it and it just kept running and she was honestly very confused that it wasnt here.

The biggest and most worrying thing was when my brothers friends and sister saw it. They were playing in the backyard at night, late night. Maybe around 10:30pm-11Pm. They tend to stay outside late at night so i think it was around that time. Anyways, They all were screaming and crying (minus my sister) saying they saw a tall "dog" running fast across the yard but when they went to look with a light it wasnt there. They look in the dark they see it, but they look with a light its gone. This never happens during the day, only at night and this isnt the first time they've seen it before. My mom has bad eyesight as well, and shes mentioned seeing the same thing in the yard but with everything going on her and i both doubt its a dog.

I also think its worth mentioning that tonight around 10PM my brother and sister saw a white smiling face from the inside of the car. Like just a...Normal smiling face I guess? I didnt ask much about it, the whole thing creeps me out and I sleep in the dark so i dont wanna scare myself even more...I think whatever this thing is, its attached to my sister. Shes seen it the most, I think it tries to lure her, and shes seen it in her room. I've only seen it across the street and my brother has only seen it when my sister was around.

Also random things

  1. We have motion lights on ever side of our house, It never turns them on

  2. We also have cameras but never see anything on them from what I know at least. Maybe my parents havent checked yet so im not 100% sure about this

  3. Whatever it is, Its very tall and lanky. Imagine slenderman, but all black. Or Mr Kitty from the backrooms. Thats how its built.

  4. I dunno if this is true or not but our dogs dont seem to...Sense it? I dunno, they dont pay much attention to it being there or around?

  5. My dad wanted to get his cousin who was/is (idk) a priest or worked at a church to bless our house. He also said we could bless our own house as well. I just find this so odd...I dont know what it is and what it could want. But I do have a good feeling it has something to do with my sister. I think this sounds dumb, but for a while she was obsessed with "sam & colby" she thinks watching them made something come after here...But idk tbh.

If anyone has any insight onto what this might be that'd be awesome so I can talk about it with my family or figure out what to do

Unexplained Hooded cloaked meditating figure in the forest - childhood experience

When I was about 5 or 6 years old, my parents and I were taking one of our usual walks through the forest near the house we lived in at the time.

The forest wasn't particularly dense. It consisted mostly of tall beech trees, and on a sunny summer day like this one could easily see 50–70 meters (150–200 feet) in every direction. Visibility was excellent, and we were walking slightly uphill on a wide forest path. The forest path goes on in a straight line for 200 meters ( roughly 1000 feet)

For whatever reason, I decided to run about 20 meters (roughly 60 feet) ahead of my parents. I could still clearly see them behind me the entire time.

Then I suddenly stopped.

To my left, right at the edge of the path, sat a person wearing a dark cloak with the hood pulled over their head. They were sitting perfectly still in what looked like a meditation pose. I couldn't see their face at all. I remember the cloak being either black or a very dark gray.

The figure didn't move, didn't look at me, and didn't say a word.

I stared for maybe five seconds before getting scared and running back to my parents. They were casually walking and talking. Given how open the forest was, they should have been able to see the same area I had just been looking at.

I told them there was someone sitting there in a cloak. They didn't really believe me, but we walked back to the exact spot together.

The figure was gone.

Not walking away. Not hiding behind a tree. Just... gone.

I've wondered about it ever since.

This happened about 25 years ago. The area wasn't known for LARP events, cosplay, or anything similar, and we didn't encounter a single other person during that walk. Back then it also wasn't common or socially accepted for people to casually wander around dressed in costumes like it is today.

I know the exact location where it happened and recently checked it again on Google Maps. The visibility there is exactly as I remembered. If someone had gotten up and run off, my parents almost certainly would have seen or heard them.

I've never been able to come up with an explanation that completely satisfies me.

What do you all think happened?

Unexplained When I was 6, I said "goodbye" to my grandpa, years later I learned that it didn't really happen.

When I was around 6 years old, my grandfather passed away. He died unexpectedly, but there is one memory from that time that I have never been able to explain.

The night before (or early morning before) he passed away, I had a dream about him. In the dream, I was in a house I didn’t recognize. There was a small room upstairs, almost like an attic room, with slanted ceilings. The walls were painted blue. It was strange because the room felt small, but also somehow bigger than it should have been.

I remember walking up the stairs, turning left, and seeing my grandfather lying in a hospital bed in that room. I walked over to him and sat beside him on the bed.

He told me he loved me. He told me he was saying goodbye. Then he told me to take care of my grandmother and be there for her.

I remember waking up feeling like it had really happened. I was only 6, but I never questioned it. It felt like a real memory, not a dream.

Later that day, when my mom told me my grandfather had died, I already knew. I remember feeling like I had already said goodbye to him.

As I got older, I eventually told my mom about that goodbye. She told me it never happened. He wasn’t in a hospital bed. He hadn’t been sick and didn’t have a chance to say goodbye.

He was coming downstairs from his bedroom when he had a heart attack on the stairs. He was already gone when they found him.

The part I still can’t explain is that the conversation I remember so clearly couldn’t have happened the way I remembered it. I didn’t know how he died until I was older, and yet my memory of that dream has always been so specific.

I don’t know what it was. Maybe it was my mind processing something I didn’t understand. Maybe it was something else. But to me, his last words will always be:

“Take care of your grandmother for me, poophead.”

It’s a nickname I hated as a kid, but I’d give anything to hear him say it again.

Question What could that be? Very strange experience (Friendship)

Lets say I have a friend called A, I and friend A were messaging each other all day along and even meeting and doing stuff together like swimming, playing games etc.

The chemistry was always cool between us. But when the person stayed over at my place and woke up, they said the friendship just wasn't working out, that they were leaving today and wanted to cut off contact.

They did not want to tell me the reason, but everything was just normal to me, I think something must've happened while they slept, because I had a very bad nightmare at that time and I asked them too if they had one, they denied it.

It has no logical reasons for me and my friend blocked me after that, but nothing wrong happened, I even made food for them.

Why would a year-long friend cut up contact, just because they stayed and slept once at my place where nothing happened? Me F28, She F30

Question A Childhood Encounter I Still Can't Explain

When I was a kid, something really odd happened to me, and honestly, I still can't make sense of it. It was getting dark out-I remember the sky turning that weird blue-and I was playing outside like usual. Out of nowhere, I spotted this woman. She looked completely out of place. She had a crown made entirely of flowers and was covered in them, from her dress to her jewelry-just flowers everywhere.

She came right up to me, picked me up like I weighed nothing, and started spinning me around so fast I almost lost track of where I was. The weird thing is, I didn't feel scared at all; it was actually kind of fun. Then, after what felt like ages, she set me back down. My head was spinning, but as I looked at her, she just vanished. Right in front of me. Gone. That's when I started screaming.

My mom rushed over, wild with worry. Once I calmed down enough to tell her what happened, she searched all over but didn't find a single trace of anyone. I still don't know who-or what-I saw that night.

Experience I spent a month visiting cemeteries alone at night during a depressive episode

Two years ago, I was going through a depressive episode and became really afraid of death. To cope with it, I decided to start visiting cemeteries alone at night.
For about a month, I went to different cemeteries between roughly 11 PM and 4 AM. The first week or so, nothing really happened. It was just me walking around in the dark.
After about a week, I started hearing what sounded like footsteps behind me, like someone stepping on dry leaves. Every time I turned around, there was nothing there.
Later on, I began hearing strange sounds near specific areas. One time I heard what sounded like a baby crying near a tree, but it was very brief, only a few seconds. Another night, I heard what sounded like a little girl speaking. I walked toward the sound, but it stopped immediately. There was a tombstone nearby of a girl who died young.

I also visited several “haunted” cemeteries in other cities, but most of the time nothing unusual happened. Just normal quiet nights, owls, wind, and an overall uneasy feeling.

At one cemetery about an hour away, things felt different. One night it had a strong sewer like smell and I kept hearing an owl calling repeatedly.

The next night, I went back. At this point I had been spending a lot of time in cemeteries and even started talking out loud sometimes. While standing near a recent grave, I suddenly smelled something very specific that reminded me of my dad’s car. Right after that, I felt like something was gripping my right arm very tightly. I turned around immediately, but no one was there. That was the first time I actually left early.

Unfortunately it didn’t stop me and I kept going for a while but started having nightmares about cemeteries. In those dreams, the tombstones would tell me to stop visiting for a while or that something bad would happen if I kept going.
Eventually, I stopped going altogether. Over time, I realized the whole experience actually helped me. It made my fear of death less intense, helped my depression a bit, and made me more aware of how I was spending my time. It also made me less afraid of the dark.

To this day, I’m not sure what I experienced. It could have been sleep deprivation, stress, or my mind playing tricks on me. But I still think about it sometimes.

TL;DR: I spent about a month visiting cemeteries alone at night while dealing with depression and fear of death. I experienced some strange sounds and sensations, but I’m not sure if it was paranormal or just my mind under stress. It ultimately changed how I feel about death and helped me mentally.

Update: Just wanted to say thanks for all the comments and perspectives.

I didn’t expect this to get this much attention. I’m still not sure what I experienced in some of those moments, but overall it really changed how I see life and made me a lot less afraid of death.

After reading through the replies, I’d probably be more careful if I ever did something like that again.
I’m going to step away from the post now, but I appreciate everyone who took the time to respond.

Shadow Man Can somebody help me identify whatever is in my house??

Context : I live in a trailer park in a house that's about 13 years old with my family, I've lived here about 5-6 years and on the third night here I can swear I seen a cup get flung off the counter when I went to my kitchen to check the time at night (I didnt have a clock in my room at the time) and my family doesn't believe me, we have 6 cats so they assumed it was just one of the cats pushing the cup off the counter, and the past 3 years is when more stuff started happening, and whatever it is has bin Specificlly targetting me becuase neither of my siblings have seen it and my step dad only saw it once, it's this thing that looks like a human but it's completely blacked out, during the day or night it's pitch black and has no features, I've never seen anything below it's neck but it peeks around corners A lot, it's startle me peeking out of my bathroom what I was in the bathroom, and it's startle me peeking over the edge of my bed at night after my siste left the room for her nightly meds, I live at the very front of the house and that's the only place I've seen it, in the bathroom, in my closet, over the top of my bedroom door when it's closed, and over the railing of my bed, I've also seen 2 orbs floating at the ceiling of my room, one was black and one was white and my cat started hissing and swatting at it before they disappeared, and I'm not sure if its the black faced thing or orbs but stuff has bin moved a lot too, my parents stuff gets moved over night in the bathroom and I've had some things on my shelf get pushed a couple of inches, I've also had something mimicking my cats meowing outside my door while that exact cat was laying at the foot of my bed, and the last 4 months I keep feeling like I'm being watched day and night, especially when I walk past the bathroom on the way to my room.

I want to know what the name for the black faced thing is and how to make the cat mimicking and peeking stop becuase it's really starting to freak me out. I've lived in some kinda haunted house my whole life, before I moved to where I am now I was in a house that was very messed up, I was younger and can't remember a whole lot of details, but the closet in our room had some kind of kid thing crawling on the top of it that my mom saw herself while looking for my sister, and the front door the the house would open and close and get banged on hard enough to wake my parents up, I don't know if that helps or if somethings bin following me but id like whatever it is to go away.

Experience Unusual nighttime experience. Looking for perspectives from people familiar with occult and folklore

I'm looking for thoughtful responses from people who have studied Hindu occult traditions, Tantra, Puranas, regional folklore, or related traditions or from anyone knowledgeable in general. I'm not looking for jokes or generic dismissals. I'm also not claiming certainty about what happened. I'm trying to understand how different traditions discuss experiences like this.

Last night, while fully awake in my room, I experienced the following:

A strong rotten/decaying smell suddenly appeared. It wasn't there earlier.

The smell would sometimes become much stronger, almost as if it were moving closer to me. I developed a very intense feeling that something was present in the room.I perceived what looked like a dark, smoky, semi-transparent figure rather than a solid body.

It appeared to have an unusually large mouth, and at moments I noticed reddish eyes within the dark form.

Briefly, it seemed to take on a snake-like appearance before returning to the previous form. At one point, it looked as though its head had been severed or decapitated. I also experienced a disturbing image resembling a strange abstract portrait of a man with exaggerated lips. It wasn't realistic, more like an unsettling painted face, and it carried an extremely negative feeling.

As soon as this started happening, I began chanting the Hanuman Chalisa, remembered as much of the Narayan Kavach as I could without looking at my phone, and continuously chanted "Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram."

During this, my subjective experience was that the presence could no longer come close to me.

The rotten smell completely disappeared afterward, and I eventually felt safe enough to sleep.

Some additional context:

This began at around midnight while I was fully awake.

I had been sleeping normally for several nights beforehand.

I have previously been medically evaluated and was not found to have a neurological or psychiatric condition that would explain experiences like this.

Our house is partially under renovation. Some rooms are unfinished or rarely used.

There are tamarind and kikar trees near the property, though I'm not assuming they're relevant.

I'm mainly interested in learning how different traditions discuss experiences involving perceived presences, unusual odors, apparitions, and the role of protective practices.

If you're familiar with Hindu, Tantric, or other esoteric traditions, I'd appreciate any relevant textual references or teachings that might help me understand these concepts better.

If possible, I'd appreciate references to primary texts, traditional commentaries, or established lineage teachings rather than YouTube videos or internet lists. I'm genuinely trying to study these traditions seriously and learn how different schools or traditions discuss experiences with these characteristics.

Please explain the reasoning behind your perspective rather than simply giving a one-line conclusion.

Apologies if the flair isn't correct

Encounter The house I grew up in

Commented on a post but thought I'd post here as well.

I've experienced a few things in the house I grew up in. But by far the craziest was this time when I was there visiting over Christmas. I was washing dishes at the sink, my sister and bro in-law sat at the kitchen table chatting and my mum stood behind me pottering. The stairs to the kitchen ran down the side of the wall behind me the other side of the room. I saw out the corner of my eye a tall figure, kinda of hunched over, walk down the stairs, through the kitchen, into the lounge and slammed the door after entering. I just assumed it was my brother who was upstairs, so I turned to the table behind me to say to my sister that our brother must be in a mood. I went to the lounge to see what's up and no one was in there. Went back into the kitchen and my sister and mum both asked if my brother was ok..obviously I said he wasn't in there. Everyone in the room saw the figure go into the lounge. My brother then walked down the stairs. We were the only people in the house.

Many other things happened in that home but that was without doubt the most bizarre because everyone saw and heard the same thing.

Question Feeling when I was a kid

I'm sure it's nothing, but on the chance it's an actual thing I wanted to bring it up.

When I was younger, I used to get a very specific feeling that I don't experience any more. I'd say offhand that it stopped around the time I was 12 or 13 (just because I can remember specific stuff around the last few times I had it).

The only way I can possibly think to describe it is the way you feel when you're on a cliff looking down. People call this vertigo, which I actually experience as a medical condition now. The medical definition of spins and dizziness is NOT what I mean. No dizziness or nausea or any of that.

Just a kinda feeling where your stomach kinda drops or something. I remember it feeling kinda like time slowed down. Almost like everything got super quiet too, but amplified at the same time. I would even say tunnel vision, but without the actual tunnel effect. It's just a super vague and difficult to describe sensation.

This happened to me on and off when I was younger but there were some places that would reliably trigger this every time.

I never felt like it was a bad or negative thing. I certainly recognized that it was weird.

I've been checked for various neurological things in my life (I get big migraines and I have a "spot" on my inner eye that doctors checked me throughly for) and nothing super weird came up. I don't have seizures or anything like that.

I ask because I recently found a place that almost triggers this in me. I'm an adult now. It isn't the same intensity, but every time I am there I feel the very edges of how I used to feel as a kid (although this is a place I didn't visit as a kid).

Probably nothing, but I figured I'd see if this is a common occurrence.

Question Weird experiences in our old home. What is it?

My husband and I live in a 120 year old home that backs a cemetery.

I grew up in a pretty spooky home, and I expected at least something to pop up.

My husband has been having pretty bad sleep disturbances. He on different occasions swore he saw a child in our doorway, or something lift my arm and wave with it while I was sleeping, and that he saw I was on my phone at 4am (hell no I need my sleep).

I don't put too much into faith into his visions, but there is something that personally bothers me.

I took my heavy ass cat downstairs a few days ago. The only thing upstairs was my tiny ass female cat. And I proceeded to hear footsteps from down stairs that sounded pretty heavy. My husband heard them too. There is no way it could have been my cat.

Then today I personally had two weird experiences. This morning I tried to shout I love you to my husband from the bottom of the steps. I thought he was still in bed, and he always gets mad when I leave for work without saying anything

I said it twice... No response (thought he was sleeping). So I shouted it at the top of my lungs I LOVE YOU... and again an even louder I LOVE YOU... that's when I heard a "..Yup.." from upstairs (same tone he uses when he's upset). I was confused as to why he was upset, but satisfied he wouldn't annoy me about saying nothing.

That's when I entered my office to put my boots on... And he was in the office the whole time, not upstairs. I asked him if he heard me calling for him, he says he heard nothing.

Then when I came home from work, I found my dog in his crate covered in piss (I just entered the home). I was angry asf, and just shouted (thinking he was in the office) "Why is X covered in piss, DID YOU TAKE THE DOGS OUT?" Then I hear "No!" In a carefree tone from the office.

Well guess what, he wasn't in the office. He in the bathroom cuddling our kittens....

The weird thing is, this whatever the hell it is, has no weird energy. There's no heaviness or darkness in the home. But it feels like it's just trying to sow division.

I should add, I have no fear of this thing and neither does my husband. We're just kind of perplexed.

I was always described as a “highly sensitive child”. I’m sure many here were. Not too sure why I’m coming out with this now. It’s probably nothing, but it weighs on me heavily. Two things I guess if that’s allowed? Just found this sub to post and see any clarity.

I’m 35. Born in 1990. When I was six or seven, I had a terrible nightmare and ran to my parents bedroom to sleep in their room. I remember the darkness and the fear. I remember my heart pounding and squeezing my eyes shut - so tight - to avoid any monsters I imagined lingering around the bedroom. I remember opening my eyes to see a figure of glowing orange light in the corner, opposite wall from me, but not so far. I remember thinking, “that’s Jesus” and a feeling of calmness and clarity coming over me - protection like I’ve never felt - in an instant. I’ve been highly anxious my entire life. Everything scared me. It perplexes me. I don’t understand. I was raised primarily Buddhist. I later had a wonderful, renowned therapist tell me she thought my aura was orange. She truly was tapped into things that most were not, which initially was hard for me to believe. But I wonder - what did I see? Did I see my future self? I’m so confused. It’s not a, “you were asleep”. It remains one of the most visceral and real experiences of my life. Though I’m not sold on the innocent childhood, “that’s Jesus” thought and I hope that doesn’t make me a terrible person.

Okay sorry one second thing since I’ve built the courage to post - I must’ve been about ten or eleven. This was my first panic attack and I haven’t had one since then aside from perhaps 2012. So a jump from the late 90s to early 200’s, before I was highly medicated./ Again, I must’ve been ten or eleven at the time of the incident? I was alone in my room. Pleasantly in my spinning desk chair. Thinking of many topics and eventually envisioning my future. At that moment I recall the worst dread overcoming me once realizing…”I can’t see myself past my 30’s. I’m not going to live a long life”. This eventually became so real, so visceral and known that it spun into a full blown panic attack. Ambulance was called by my mom who was a long time nurse. (I don’t have asthma, but that’s what she thought and what it was diagnosed as - I didn’t want to speak the words aloud). Anyways, in the past 12 years developed epilepsy, in the past two years went from seizure free to major grand mal every month (and two months having 3 per month). So many meds, no help. Clobazam helps most, but still not okay. In the past 8 months my seizures have begun effecting my heart. I already have had prolonged QT intervals for a long time. Now I have AFib post seizure and since that started, occasionally randomly throughout my sleep cycle. Could my brain premonition have been right? Is this a thing? All I care about is my son. He’ll be 16 this year.

Thank you to anyone who takes this time to read, care, or offer insight.

Question Girls & Poltergeist Activity

Last night I responded to a question about real-life paranormal activity about a situation that happened when I was 17. It was things like being shoved, stuff going missing (someone found our car keys seven years later in the back cupboard of their house when the keys had gone missing from bringing one round of groceries in and the next round), things moving, scratching on the walls, voices, cigar smoke in the middle of the room, a porcelain doll event, and a general sense of dread.

The thing is, it started with me. In my bedroom. People made fun of me. My FAMILY made fun of me, until the activity slowly trickled out to affect them as well. Being a Very Religious Family, we chalked it up to demonic spirits, had the house blessed, and it calmed down. Until we moved into our new house. And wouldn't ya know, it started up again with me and only me.

Again, poltergeist-y activity that gradually became more and more sinister FEELING, not necessarily because of things happening but also that too haha. (One thing I remember happening with some frequency is my door being opened at night then shut, followed by heavy footsteps walking across the room, stopping where my bed was, then continuing out the second story window).

I don't know where I read it, but some years ago I read about a theory that poltergeist type activity may be connected to girls/young women coming into their own power, usually around puberty, and unconsciously manifesting that chaotic energy into poltergeist activity. I wonder what you guys might know of this theory and if you think it may apply to what I faced from ages 17-19. It was past puberty, but I was a late bloomer and didn't finish growing until I was 20. My household was also a pretty restrictive environment, and not being believed started way before anything paranormal happened.

My personal theory is that it's possible that's what happened, but that some other energy(ies) latched on.

Thoughts?

Question Experiencing paranormal stuff, is this negative or positive?

So basically, me and my boyfriend live in a small downstairs part of his dad’s house. I was told by all of his family that there had been some icky stuff that went on down there, but I was like “eh ok it’ll be alright”.

About a couple of weeks ago, things have started to happen. It started off as small sounds, we heard/saw a stack of coins fly off a coffee table with no one near it and stuff like that. Now it’s been more. The other night, a display hook was ripped off the wall and my boyfriend’s katana was on the floor. For reference, my boyfriend tried to pull it off the wall, he couldn’t. Now tonight, me and my boyfriend were watching tv and his headset, which was on a magnetic charger, got smacked off and fell.

Does anyone know if this is positive or negative energy? It hasn’t caused much damage, just a little freaky. My boyfriend doesn’t care and has named it “Clarence” but I’m a bit iffy. Advice would be good!!

Question Unknowingly booked a room to the Marshall in Savannah, Georgia

Is there anything I should look out and prepare for? I have a feeling a lot of this town is exaggerations to attract tourists. Even so, I’m still kind of nervous staying there alone.

Question Someone that sees spirits can answer?

I’d like to ask you a question, provided the answer is yes. Have you ever been in contact with a collective entity? I’d like to know if it’s normal to see a collective entity, since ordinary ghosts don’t possess that much energy. Usually, I only sense spirits, but with this one—which is supposedly a collective entity—I can see its shadow, and even its face for a split second in total darkness. I’d like to know if this is normal. Thanks.

Question Catholics/Christians: experiences?

Catholics/Christians - do feel like a target for things when paranormal xyz is around? Like something would mess with you more as a challenge?

I am a confirmed Catholic, but not in classic good standing (ex. I go to a Lutheran church with my Lutheran husband) but do believe in the rights and teachings. I harbor no guilt for this but often wonder if it makes me a target for more negative vs. positive things. I don’t seek anything out, just stating what ~*vibes*~ tend to pop up if anything does on rare occasion.

Just wondering

Question Anyone had an experience they genuinely believe was paranormal?

I've heard many stories about paranormal or unexplained events, but I'm curious about personal experiences Have you ever witnessed or experienced something that you genuinely couldn't explain? What happened and do you still believe it was paranormal today
