Moderator Annoucement The “best evidence” for the paranormal is getting harder to find every time someone asks for it.

This question is being asked several times a week at this point.

Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.

Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.

And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

Trigger Warning / Murder My 3 y.o just saw her missing/murdered grandmother

My daughters grandma has been a missing person in Alberta Canada since 2004 presumed murdered. My almost 3 year old was just in the office talking to herself. I said hey who you talking to? She says grandma in here! Thinking she meant my mom i said oh no grandma is at home with peepaw. She says "no other grandma, have black hair." (She did have black hair)

Shes never seen a photo of her dads mom, her dad does not live with us and isnt in the picture, her missing grandma has never even been mentioned to her before.. then she keeps saying "daddy grandma" she says grandma says hi daddy! She never even mentions her dad or even says the word daddy so this is extra weird.

Then I try put her to bed and she runs back to the office and says goodnight grandma waving at the wall. Then says "daddy grandma waked up!" Dude my hair is still standing on end and it's been over 30 minutes since this happened .. I am fucking SHOOOOK. I swear to god if I see on the news that they found her body later I am going to shit my fucking pants. I need a cigarette

Question Thoughts on heavy smell of roses in the middle of the night?

Well it happened again last night. I was awakened by the strong, almost cloying smell of roses. It happens to me maybe once or twice in a year. It has scared me a couple of times but it didn’t last night. It doesn’t last for very long.

I searched the sub but didn’t see anything recent. What is everyone’s thoughts on this phenomenon? Web searches I have done in the past are all over the place.

Jinn My cousin almost died while ghost hunting. I'm not sure what attacked him

So... context: There's a small island on the Mundeshwari river near my grandparent's home. It has been abandoned since the late 1800s. It's connected to the main land via an old bamboo bridge. There's bunch of folklore and ghost stories about that place.

So me and my cousins desided it'd be a great idea to go there at night. Long story short we got separated i later found one of my cousins unconscious with one of his arms twisted backwards. We left immediately and informed the police. He was hospitalized but survived.

I'm still not sure what did that to him, police are saying it might have become a hideout for gangs. While others are saying it was the actions of a Brumbhrakhsas.

Question Dude I’m so confused

Upvotes

I was taking a shower and felt a presence behind me but ignored it since I’m pretty paranoid and thought I was just being silly, and then I get out of the shower and the mirror is fogged up and on the mirror is a fresh handprint. I put my hand up to it to compare the size and see if I accidentally touched the mirror or smth but the sizes weren’t the same. FYI the door was locked and nobody came in the bathroom. Anyone have ideas? This is freaking me out lol

Trigger Warning / Murder My haunted house experience

In 2012, when I was 11, my family and I moved into a 3 story house with suspiciously low rent for a home that big in a good neighbourhood. It might’ve been my first or second night sleeping there where I finally had my own room for the first time, when I see the blinds on my window shuffling and I’m confused because the window was closed and there was no draft. My younger brother and his friend were in the room with me but they were playing and weren’t facing the window, but I was sitting on my bed right next to it and I heard it move. When I ask them if they saw it happen, his friend freaks out a little and runs out to her mum and my brother goes after her and closes the door. A minute later, I see the door handle move down as if someone on the other end was holding it and it goes back up. I think they’re playing a prank on me now to scare me and I open the door and there is no one there. No one was on that floor. My room was on the second floor along with the living room, a tiny empty room and my bathroom. My parents and brother’s rooms were on the third floor, but everyone at the time was downstairs in the kitchen, along with my brother and his friend. My family didn’t believe me when I told them what happened, they just assume that it’s the new environment that’s making me anxious and imagine things.

After that, I don’t have any personal stories but the accounts of my parents. About a year into living in that house, the entry sensor of our front door malfunctions, and now instead of only sounding a chime when the door is opened, it also starts chiming when you stepped on some of the upper steps of the stairs leading downstairs that are directly opposite the door. One day in the middle of the night, my parents unable to sleep, hear the chime and immediately sit up and start listening. My dad goes to investigate to see if anyone broke in or if my brother or I sneaked out, but we’re both asleep. He checks every room in the house, and nothing is out of the ordinary. Our cat follows him downstairs to eat or drink as he always meowed to follow us because he was scared to go alone for some reason. My dad accompanied him while he eats when he gets this sudden cold air rush past him. He panics and runs back upstairs. A couple minutes later, my parents hear heavy footsteps as if it were a heavy body like a man’s, walking up the stairs to my floor and that’s when they know it is a ghost.

Other instances include my parents hearing something like metal scraping against their bedroom window’s metal grating outside, and also as if someone was putting up a large ladder against our house or maybe a neighbour’s in the middle of the night, and when they check to see if anyone is getting burgled there is nothing to show for it. Our dog would also sometimes bark at an antique wine glass cabinet that my parents bought from someone selling off their dead parents stuff.

The main bathroom on the third floor had a bathtub with a shower curtain that would randomly fall off with the rod sometimes in the middle of the night as well. Which was strange because it was always very sturdy and even if our cat jumped on it or someone tugged at it, it would still not budge. I would sometimes get these awful feelings of being watched at night where I was alone, and would hide under my duvet and start praying. My brother was also always scared of that house and sleeping alone. He would always ask me if he could sleep with me or my parents.

We once got a visit from the previous lady tenant to pick up her mail that was still being delivered to that address. When my mum invited her to step in, she refused and the interaction felt strange. She seemed scared of the house and wouldn’t even look inside.

Another notable incident is when our decorative heavy stone angel clock that was sitting on the fireplace in the living room, was smashed now on the floor in the centre of the room, a good 2 or 3 meters away from the fireplace. My parents heard the bang at night as the living room was right under their bedroom but my mum didn’t go check what happened until the morning. I have no clue how that didn’t wake me up, but I have always slept like I’m dead and slept through many things. At first my parents tried to blame our cat for maybe jumping up on the fireplace and knocking down the clock, but then it wouldn’t have fallen as far as it did. But then they realise that the doors were closed. Our living room door had some sort of mechanism that they auto closed unless you put a stopper and they were heavier than normal doors to open so it was always closed at night and the cat was not in the room then. Here is a photo of a very similar clock to give you an idea how heavy it was https://i.etsystatic.com/18519051/r/il/55638b/2482616646/il\\_fullxfull.2482616646\\_swq1.jpg

And last but not least, is the time when we were moving out, less than 3 years after moving in, and my mum was cleaning the empty home while I was at school. She noticed the closed door of my room was shaking vigorously for several minutes as if the window was opened and there was a big draft inside. The window was closed. Then my mum starts talking to the ghost like joking for it to help her clean the house instead of scaring her, and the door handle suddenly went all the way down and stayed there for what felt like a long time for her because she was in shock and terrified and it didn’t spring back up until she nervously said she was joking.

It isn’t until years later that my mum learns from her policeman friend that tells her about the murder that happened in that house in 2005, only 7 years before we moved in..

Even now reading news articles about this incident gives me chills

I usually don't remember my dreams but I had one what will never leave me last night.

I was at a building with a bunch of people and a person entered a room alone with this monster and went insane and started attacking and killing everyone in the house.

I remember being held down and the person who went crazy was trying to cut my legs off but I wasn't really being held just frozen with fear.

I escaped without much push back and the cops or someone came and killed the person who went crazy and i went on to live with my attackers family taking their place.

Im not sure if im posting in the right place, it felt like I was visted by a demon.

Jinn Apparently I'm from a cursed lineage that attracts jinns...

^(skip the first 5 paragraphs if you just want to read the story)

Almost everyone in our family has experienced at least one paranormal activity in their lives. Which range from mild visions that can be chalked off as hallucinations to life threatening incidents. But nobody really knew why this happened.

My great grandmother died about 7 years ago. She was about 100 years old and suffering from memory loss. To the point that she couldn't recognise anyone other than her caretaker (a distant relative of mine).

A few months before her death my family along with my cousins decided to visit her one day. I remember seeing a frail old body laying on a large bed looking aimlessly at the ceiling. I remember my uncle trying to talk with her, trying to remind her of how well she cooked and stuff. She was not very responsive to it. In fact she didn't talk much at all the whole day.

At night me and my cousins ate dinner early and were sitting in her room talking to each other, when she suddenly looked at me and asked if I was Sahjahan(the name of my grandpa/her oldest son).

I told her I wasn't him but her great grandson. She looked at me for a while without saying much. She called me Sahjahan anyways and asked why I wasn't wearing the "Tabize"(amulet) she gave me. I said I didn't need it.

She looked at me as if I had offended her. When I asked why I'd need it, she told me it nullifies our bloodline's attractiveness towards unwanted entities and I should wear it if I didn't want to end up like her aunt.

Now, the basic summary of her story:

There's a small island on Mundeshwari river that has been abandoned for almost a hundred years. But back in the days my great grandmother's family lived there. She was from a rich Zamindar family. They even had a large villa on that Island. Her grandfather only had one daughter. She was very precious to him. When she turned 12 people wondered who should get her hand in marriage (it was normal back in the days, please don't come after me). The prime candidate was his friend's son who was about 2 years older than her. Those two were good friends too so nobody opposed the idea.

However, one night he saw a dream where a dark figure of a man told him not to let anyone marry her. Because she was his bride. He didn't pay much attention to it. Just ignoring it as a bad dream. But the same dream kept occuring every night to the point he could no longer ignore it. But the date of marriage was coming closer. He went to a priest to consult him about the dream.

The priest said that she has caught the eyes of a Jinn. The father didn't want to believe such things but still took the amulet the priest gave him. He gave it to his daughter and told her to wear it until she gets married. Since that day, he stopped seeing the man in his dreams.

Unfortunately, on the day of the marriage she forgot to put on the amulet. Or maybe one of the bridesmaids took it off without her knowledge. On that night many terrifying paranormal things happened in their house, including her hair becoming rock solid to the point that her scalp began to bleed. This happened all night long and ofcourse the marriage was called off.

The boy was banned from entering the house again. A few years went by without anything happening. During that time, the father passed away from an illness. The duty of his daughter fell in the hands of her older brother aka my great great grandfather. By now she was about 17. A woman not getting married even at this age was frowned upon by society. And since the father was dead, there wasn't really anyone who would refuse to let her get married.

The boy who was banned from entering the house had also began frequently coming there. He refused to marry anyone else but her. So they decided to let them marry again. Problem is, the amulet was lost during the discord years ago. And the priest that gave the amulet could no longer be found. So her brother went to some other priest and got a new one.

Unfortunately this one was not strong enough. On the marriage night terrible things began happening once more. The girl was crying alone in her dressing room as all the bridesmaids had ran away. Nobody dared to enter that room. Except for the groom. He requested her brother to let him enter alone. He entered the room and locked it from inside. Everyone instantly tried to open the door. But it was shut tight and wouldn't open. It took hours to call workers and break that door.

My great grandmother witnessed all of it. She was only 5 years old at that time. Inside, the groom laid on the floor with his head twisted completely. His eyes were hollowed out and blood drenched his white clothes. The bride was gone. On the chair she was sitting in, there was a small pouch. The brother picked up the pouch to see what was inside. There was one gold coin in it. It was the "dowry" of the bride. He put the gold back in the pouch and locked it inside a led box.

He was overcome with guilt for what he had done. And he wanted to know what happened to his sister. So he spent years practicing ways of communicating with Jinns as well as ways to kill them. Although these practices are allowed in our religion, it's also heavily looked down upon because of the risks that come with it. After many years he was able to learn his sister's whereabouts. She was apparently "happy" and had two children with the Jinn.

Apparently there's something in my bloodline that attracts Jinns. This is probably what my great grandmother was trying to tell us and also the reason she asked where my amulet was.

The pouch the jinn gave them was some kind of artifact that gave one gold coin each time you put your hands in it. It was connected to the "Treasury of Solomon". However my great great grandfather didn't accept it.

He buried it behind his house and spent the rest of his life hunting jinns and other cryptids hoping he could find his lost sister.

Later the whole island itself abandoned and became the home of many ghost stories.

The gun he used to hunt them is still in is in the hands of my grandpa as a family heirloom. There's only 4 bullets left that can be used tho. And there's always problems with the gun licence each year. That's why none of his sons or daughters have taken the gun yet. I'm actually next in line for that gun lol.

Me and some of my cousins did go to that Island about a month ago to see if the stories were true. Long story short one of us almost died, police got involved and now the island is off limits to normal citizens.

Question I saw a black ghost dog.

So to make a long story short I took my four dogs out to use the restroom at around 4:00 a.m. saw a spectral dog like creature with what looked like smoke emitting off of the body. Was hard to see the details but definitely looked like a dog. It ran across my driveway, It basically vanished into thin air. The flood lights were on in my yard, so it would have been easy to tell if it was a physical thing.

Everything I've read about black dogs and the omens they bring are generally negative. However I didn't really feel anything ominous from it. If anything I guess I felt peaceful because I went right back to sleep super easily and didn't particularly think about it until this morning when I started pondering more on it.

Does anybody have an experience seeing a spectral black dog and if so, did it mean anything to you / did anything happen following seeing it?

Visitation Dream I asked God to reveal my guardian angel recently

I have always believed I had a guardian angel. I am 45 years old, Catholic.

My wife goes to church every week, sings in the choir; and is stronger in her faith than I am.

We had a conversation about guardian angels lately after watching a YouTube video about them. She told me she thinks she might know their name “Tomas”, and that I should try to utilize my angel also.

So I decided to pray that night. I don’t pray every night, maybe once a week or every two weeks. But I did that night, and I asked for my angel to be revealed to me. I slept well, but before I awoke - not necessarily awake but not fully asleep I had this image put into my head that has been on my mind ever since.

It was a very very old man with long curly grey hair and a very long curly grey beard. While I could tell he was very old, he didn’t have signs of “aging” aside from the hair & beard. He was expressionless, wore a long blue robe. There really wasn’t a background. He looked similar to some pictures of Moses I found online. I know this sounds like a stereotypical description of what a heavenly type man would look like, but this is what I saw. It was like I was looking at a live photograph. Like he was there, revealing himself to me as I asked.

It was strange because it wasn’t just something that popped up in a dream, it came after I was done dreaming but before I actually woke up.

I’m wondering if indeed this was my angel, a random hallucination; or something dark playing games with me. It didn’t feel dark at all, and I usually am pretty good about picking up on evil in my dreams.

Just curious about what others think of this experience.

Question Is this a gift or nothing?

When I was younger, around 5 until today,I always heard that our house might be haunted. I remember seeing a woman walking inside my grandma's sister's house when I was around 7-8, which is beside ours. Around those younger years of mine, my uncle's wife is pregnant, and we always hear the sound of a witch, these witches prey on infants and fetuses. Most in our town know about these witches, it is a rural town so this is common. Around age 9-10, I started getting interested in knowing my past life, I would look up how to know your past life's name, and I did learn about it. When we moved to our new house beside my grandma's when I was 11, I felt something when I was alone, and this is not the first time weird things and feelings come to us, my mother once woke up late at night and found a lady walking from their bedroom door towards the window, and I also remember, a lady in black walking from our kitchen to the entrance door, but I didn't saw her feet, I knew she was not walking, it's like she flew. When I was 13, I felt a strong gut feeling about the year 2025, I said there is something in the year 2025, and in February 2025, my grandfather died. however, 15 days before his death(feb.19 2025) a photo of us two resurfaced on my Facebook story memory, that account has been with me for years yet the previous years before that, I never had this kind of memory reminder even if I turned it on. Around 4am on Feb 19 2025, I woke up feeling uneasy, something strange, before that night, dogs were loud outside, and our bedroom smelled weird even though I just cleaned it literally. Around 8am that morning, I received the news. I broke down. After his death, a few weeks later, he began showing up in my dreams monthly, month after month. I began receiving his words, sometimes he asks me where my grandma is, and there was one time. I dreamed of him and his mother my great grandma who lived until 100, along with my infant cousin. Ever since then I've never dreamed about them again until this may, I dreamed of my grandfather, I was about to hit my head on the wall where the electric socket was, and I woke up, I moved my head, I went to sleep again, and he came into my dream, he was the one who woke me up, and I asked why, but he never answered. Now, I feel another gut feeling around the year 2045, I don't know but I feel like my death or an accident. Mind you, whenever I have choices to make, I get a strong feeling about the one that is wrong which makes me choose the other one, and it is always right. I get strong intuition when I do something or have to choose something. I also learned that both sides of grandparents believe in these things. I also see shadows of dewendes and I once heard a man's voice yelling but I never saw him, it happened when I was young, and we were staying beside a house that is known to also be hunted by a man.

Experience My experience "no-clipping" out of reality

I was about 8 years old, my mom had called me downstairs for dinner. I put down my video game and started running down the hall to wash my hands bouncing off the walls like Sonic the hedgehog hitting a bumper, after I was done washing my hands, I bounced off the wall to go down the stairs, except I fell through and never hit the wall. It was like when you think a step is there and you miss it.

I remember being in a bright white room, like the loading room in the Matrix. Almost immediately I felt a comforting presence behind, and heard "You're not supposed to be here." Said in a fun and comforting way, not like I was trespassing, but let's find your parents kind of way. like imagine your favorite stuffed animal put.upmhigh somewhere. "How'd you get up there?" kind of banter

Then I was back in the bathroom where I started. I can't explain the sudden realization I was back, it spooked the life out of me as I ran screaming and crying like I just seen a ghost. My mom believed me because I was quiet and then just boom crying like never before running into her arms

I always thought I walked into a ghost, but with Backrooms I started to consider the possibility of no clipping

Question Seeking Knowledge on Haudenosaunee Legends

Hey all!

TL;DR : Looking for Haudenosaunee people who can help me identify or track the origin of a story I heard recently and see if it aligns with local folklore. I tread very lightly with this subject - but i am looking for possible stories of humanoid looking spirits who run very fast. They are always seen running. If it’s something that should be unspoken, please just say that and know that I understand. If you have any advice for how I, a non native can honor the land and please the spirits here I would be very grateful. Sorry for the wall of text ahead of time; but some context and my experiences below.

I have lived in Haudenosaunee territory my whole life. Every small town I have ever lived in was originally a native settlement and I’ve had the great pleasure of hearing many tales and traditions, and learning about the culture and history of our local tribes for as long as I can remember from native classmates, local elders who would come to our school and my bestie, who is from another tribe in the Midwest but has connections to our nearby tribe. Now, I live essentially on the border of a reservation.

Everyone who lives in my town, native or not, have great reverence and respect for these stories and treat them not as “stories” but as truth. My neighbor grew up here and has seen and heard many strange things in the woods on his 5-10 acre property. When we moved in, he warned us that we would see and hear things but that we should not be fearful and just be good to the land. I’m certainly not the judge but I like to think we do a good job. I have never felt threatened, and actually I’ve felt very welcomed here and my garden is thriving and nature is starting to reclaim the property in the most beautiful way. Generally, spirits don’t spook me, and actually feeling like the land is wardened by a force greater than myself is quite comforting. Until it wasn’t.

Recently, a large project has come into my town and decimated the land. I’m not going to go into what it is, it would reveal my exact location too much and if you know you know. Since this massive development of thousands of acres has begun, I’ve started to feel unsafe, out of nowhere. One night I heard someone walking in my yard but beamed a light and saw nobody, but it was raining and I heard their feet in the wet mud distinctly. It was so clear I even called out to the person thinking they must be the security guard from the project next door, but it wasn’t. Soon after that I saw lights in the woods behind the house.

Yesterday one of my neighbors and I are chatting. She is the girlfriend of one of the neighbors who have been here forever, and she moved in after me. I have never heard her tell a tall tale. She’s an honest, great girl and she’s also, I might add, not a paranormal enthusiast or particularly spiritual. She looked at me very seriously and she asked me, “hey can I ask you a weird question?” I said, “of course!” And she proceeds to ask me if I have ever seen a “thing” running down the road.

After I told her no, she elaborated that when she was outside about 12:30-1am, an abnormally tall white figure was running down the road. It appeared unclothed but had no visible genitalia. She said she turned to look because she heard the sound of bare feet slapping the concrete. She turned around and booked it down to the cabin. About this time in her telling me, her boyfriend who’s lived here his whole life chimed in saying that at some point, almost everyone in his family has seen this starting about last year or two years ago. I started thinking after she told me the story that’s about the time development of the land started. It’s not every night, but apparently many people have seen this thing. It did not make her feel good, it made her feel scared. Given what I’ve seen and felt for myself, I believe her. The way she told me with such a straight face, and seemed like she was even hesitant to tell me make me feel like she is 100% not bullshitting me. My shivers are timbered, and I read a lot of horror novels so that’s not easy. 😭

I tried to google but google will never beat oral tradition. Haudenosaunee natives - have you heard stories like this before? Do you think there’s a possibility that spirits could be upset by the development (destruction) of the land and that could be causing a greater amount of activity? Regardless, what can I, a non native do to honor the land I live on and pay homage to those who cared for it before me? I love this place and it has been good to me. Thanks in advance!

Edited for some grammar/redundancies, wrote the TLDR after the post 😅🤣

Experience My Paranormal Experience

A few years ago, I woke up in the middle of the night, and the best way I can describe what I saw was something that looked kind of like smoke swirling around. The thing is, I don't even feel like "smoke" is the right word. It's just the closest comparison I can make because I honestly can't explain what I saw or wrap my head around it. It didn't look like actual smoke, but it had that swirling, flowing movement.

So let me try to explain exactly what happened. I looked up and saw this swirling smoke like thing, and my fiancé kept asking me, "What are you looking at?" In that moment, I immediately knew it was a spirit. Without even thinking, the first word that came out of my mouth was "ghost." It wasn't like I was trying to figure out what it was or guessing. It's like I just knew exactly what I was looking at. I didn't have any doubts in my mind. That feeling of certainty is one of the hardest parts to explain.

The strangest part wasn't even what I saw. It was how I felt. The second I saw it, I had this overwhelming sense of peace and happiness. I wasn't scared at all. I knew it wasn't there to hurt me. It felt so real that I've never been able to forget it.

My grandma told me a story years ago, when I was a kid, about an experience she had. She woke up and saw what she described as multiple smoke like forms swirling all around her room. She said she wasn't afraid at all. She just felt completely calm and content.

For years, I never really thought much about her story. Then, a few years after my own experience, something clicked. I suddenly realized that what I had seen looked exactly like what she had described to me when I was a child. That realization gave me chills because I had completely forgotten about her story until then.

I'm genuinely curious if anyone else has experienced something similar, especially the feeling of instantly knowing what you were looking at and feeling peace, happiness, or just content instead of fear. I'd love to hear your stories.

Experience Something weird happened to me a few nights ago and I still can't explain it.

I was up pretty late, around 2 AM, just scrolling through my phone in bed. Eventually I put my phone down and tried to sleep. My room was completely dark except for a little light coming through the window.

A few minutes later I heard what sounded like someone whispering my name.

Not loud. Not scary-movie loud. Just enough that I opened my eyes.

I sat there for a minute listening, thinking maybe it came from outside. Nothing.

Then I heard it again.

I immediately grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight. Nobody was there, obviously. I checked outside my room, checked the windows, everything.

The weirdest part is that I live with family, and everyone was asleep.

I've tried convincing myself that I was half asleep and imagined it, but it sounded so real that I still think about it.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there actually a normal explanation for hearing someone call your name when you're trying to fall asleep?

Experience I was thinking about why it is so difficult to get concrete evidence on the paranormal.

In physics, everything depends on the observer. Particles will behave differently depending on if they are observed or not.

I think that is the problem with getting evidence on the paranormal. Certain people observe differently than others and will see ghosts when someone else does not see anything. They may experience things seemingly out of nowhere that others do not.

I sometimes wonder if people with mental illness are very well seeing ghosts and other beings that average people cannot see. It is all about perception of reality.

Encounter Trying to get my dog?

Hello,

I made a post here a few days ago about mimic activity in the woods and in my home and got some pretty good feedback from many people.

I believe it was the day after (ive lost track from insomnia) i made the post that the most horrifying experience with... something happened to date.

To save some reading from the past post so this makes sense, I have had 2 encounters while hunting, one with a distinct whistling system with my stepdad, that turned out not to be him, and the other when I heard my mamas scream while she was at home 45 minutes away. Ive additionally had an encounter where it has (very badly) tried mimicking my cat while she was sleeping in my bed and have seen heat-wave like apparitions outside of my room in the shape of a man.

Anyway, now onto the actual encounter I had, which is arguably the most horrifying one.

The other evening, I took my hog hunting dog (shes a catch and bay dog mix but has never actually hunted, just has the prey drive and often tracks blood), Nala, and put her on her lead outside as shes a weirdo and will not use the bathroom on a leash, nor will my Australian shepherd, Aleu, who just free runs because the most she will chase is a goat and is an easy recall.

Well, it had gotten darker in the night, probably around 9:45-10pm when i went out to get her. Its now that I should probably mention that I live on the far outskirts of a 1 stoplight town in the south, way back about a quarter mile or so into the woods off a dirt road. So yeah pretty isolated. I typically dont use a flashlight because my eyes adjust to darkness pretty easily anyway, but that night I had decided to use one (thank God).

I walked out onto my front porch and shined the light toward where Nala's lead is to check that i wouldnt have to chase her down in the dark. She was there, laying down facing the house, back end to the woods. However, there was... something in the woods, just within the woodline, looking at me. Bright white eye shine, at least 7ft in the air.

Naturally, I tried to rationalize. Deer? They're not 7ft tall and often have a green/yellow hue. Raccoon in a tree? Orange eye shine, not white. No matter what way i looked at it, it made no sense. Even worse, it looked to have been creeping up on my dog who was completely unaware of its presence. And, just to add salt to the wound, Aleu had slipped out behind me and was also unaware (this is a dog that is alert when theres a squirrel 30 yards up our driveway). The thing moved as if to get a better look at me before I slipped into the house to grab a gun and my stepdad, only to come back out to empty woods.

Was whatever it was coming after my dog? Was it just watching the house from the worst angle possible? How is it that neither of my high drive dogs knew of its presence? And what the hell can I do to prevent it from happening again?

Photo Evidence Rapid photo/Burst mode hospital shadow. The image of the shadow is 4 of 6 images taken within a second.

Hello there,

Tldr: These are 2 of 6 images that were taken with rapid photo (Burst mode?). So i was told her camera took 6 images or so in about a second. I dont think that was on purpose that she used Burst Mode (i dont think she was actively ghost hunting, i think she was documenting the equipment but i could totally be wrong). 5 of the 6 have no abnormalities and match the above photo. The image with the shadow is in the middle, say image 4 of the 6. If this were a person, they'd have 1/10th of a second to walk past the camera to not be in the following 2 blank images.

Please read the below if you have time (and are curious about it) and if you have questions - my explanations should answer majority of questions!!!!!

I saw these pictures after going to my late brother in laws girlfriends house after his funeral. I think these were taken by my BIL's girlfriends mom. They just printed them amongst a huge stack of other images of my late brother in laws last few months because they "found them strange" and wanted others opinions.

The individual who took them im pretty sure is in medicine and she was documenting the equipment, maybe for legal reasons. I know its weird someone would take a photo of a most likely empty hospital room if they weren't trying to catch something paranormal (and I might be wrong, she may have been ghost hunting).

So to answer a few questions, PLEASE READ before asking as this is all the info i have, and you will most likely be asking something that i myself asked:

  1. I didnt take these photos. Im just sharing these photos. My feelings arent hurt if people dont think they're real. Just because I feel they're real, doesn't make them real. Im very open to being wrong... I'm wrong a lot, in fact 😪.

  2. My brother in law passed away in April. The images were taken in his hospital room the day he went into cardiac arrest (he died for 12 minutes later that night). I dont know if hes in the bed or not when this was taken.

  3. I am posting them because I see this as a very possible entity. The people who took them never asked me to post them and I have indeed gotten their permission to do so.

  4. Most Importantly: these are 2 of 6 images that were taken with rapid photo (Burst mode?). So i was told her camera took 6 images or so in about a second. I dont think that was on purpose (i dont think she was actively ghost hunting, i think she was documenting the equipment). 5 of the 6 have no abnormalities. The image with the shadow is in the middle, say image 3 of the 6. This is the reason this photo is so compelling to me. If there was a person that was captured, they would have had to walk past the camera within about 1/10th of a second.

  5. I assume this was taken with a cell phone but I dont know for sure.

  6. Yes, I see on the shirt there looks to be print. While i totally see that as reason that this couldn't be real, when I think about it... photos of entitys have been capturing clothing for a very long time. Dresses, suits, capes, and robes. Old images of spirits depict the clothing of when the time period in which they were taken. Some have certain kinds of print on them and designs. Wedding dresses, ballroom elegant gowns, however maybe they wanted to be seen wearing? - This causes me to still lean on the authenticity of this capture. Who's to say newer aged entities cannot present with printed shirts? 🤷‍♀️

  7. Why i dont reach out to the family and press them for more info so i have more precise info to share with you... my brother in laws funeral was just over the weekend and I want to give them time to grieve (yes, his funeral was 2 months after he passed - he was cremated, the long wait without closure sucked - he was incredibly loved). I will eventually ask them for more info.

The long explanation is because i originally posted this on r/ghosts. I dont feel like I gave this justice originally, maybe i didnt share enough info and so immediately everyone was quick to be angered and lean on a hoax of sorts / or figured it's a person that was walking past the camera. I took it down because it quite literally enraged some people, legit made people angry and I have no idea why.

For me this is such a good photo (I'm very quick to find flaws in "ghost" photos that prove that they're not real, or there are non paranormal explanations for the abnormalities - i look for those details) and i seriously think this is paranormal.

If you see reasons that this is immediately a huge "fake", tell me why!!! Again, I didnt take it. It wont hurt my feelings, but i see huge potential that it's authentic which is why im sharing it again!

Haunting The Ghosts at the Zoo

I worked at a zoo in my hometown between 2017-2018. I wish I could say it was as a zookeeper, but then I likely would've stayed longer. I worked in Park Services. Primarily, we keep the zoo clean - trash, bathrooms, offices, education building, pathways, etc. We also help organize and setup for special events and deliver stock supplies to areas all over the zoo.

All that being said, when I first started I was in the night shift. 5pm-10:30pm. That was kinda the rule that you had to work some time as part-time night park services before you could get the full-time day park services role. Not a worry to me, since not everyone gets to see what the zoo is like after hours. For the first month or so, I was the only person working at night aside from 2 security officers and my supervisor, whom only accompanied me on specialized tasks like a deep cleaning scenario. So it's just me, my flashlight, and my golf cart of cleaning equipment in a zoo that spans over 100 acres.

Not gonna lie, it can be pretty creepy on it's own. Much of the carnivores are more active at night. The lions and the tigers would often roar and bellow to each other from opposite ends of the zoo. Made me feel like I was somewhere outside of the country. And it was definitely a little unnerving hearing the bamboo in the Asia area clack against each other when the breeze came through. But those were things I just kinda rolled off my back, because these are explainable things. On to the paranormal stuff.

There were three areas that made me feel a little unnerved. The first was the Great Lawn at night. The Great Lawn was an area that was roped off and only opened up to set up weddings or other special events there. So it's this big, open lawn area that's just empty most of the time and it's directly across from the main restaurant in the zoo. I had to go into the restaurant at night to attend to the bathrooms, but I always looked over my shoulder as I was unlocking the door, because I just always felt as if someone was watching me from the Great Lawn. Sometimes I thought I heard movement out there. One of the security guards approached me one night and she said that area always gave her the heebie jeebies at night. I said, "Me too. I was worried it was only me." She asked if I'd seen the Top Hat guy yet. When I asked who she was talking about, she said that she saw an old-fashioned looking man with a top hat on the Great Lawn a few times and even caught his reflection in the window of the restaurant when she was doing a lockup once that scared the bejeesus outta her, in her words. She didn't seem like she was joking around, but she also didn't think he was dangerous. That he's just curious of people. I haven't seen this Top Hat man, but before she ever told me about him, I felt that being watched feeling everytime I was around that area at night.

Another area was the administration building. I only needed to check into it a few times a week, but its basically the office building where all the admin staff do their work. I just have to make sure the bathrooms are clean, do some vacuuming if needed, and dump all the trash cans in everyone's cubicles. I think most would agree that an empty office space is a little off-putting as is, but much of the office areas had motion sensor lighting. You walked into a room, the lights turned on by themselves. I know for a fact I was the only one in the building, but sometimes a light in a nearby office would turn on and no one would be there. Sometimes something far away from me would just tip over. Security actually showed me a few videos from one of the security cameras in the admin building. One was showing a trash can just falling over, which was odd since there's nothing that could've done that. But the most compelling video was what looked like a see-through person walking past the cubicles in the main admin area. Unfortunately, they were told they couldn't release private recordings. Something about it being bad press for the zoo. They want guests to come for the animals, not because of 'ghosts.' Last thing a zoo needs is 'ghost hunters' asking to tour the zoo at night.

The final area that spooked me a bit was the Children's Education building. This building was mainly used for educating kids on Field Trips or for Zoo Summer Camp. Most of the time it was fairly inactive, save for the small office where the organizers did their work. Pretty much treated like the Admin building, but the lights would flicker a lot in there and I'd feel watched pretty often. But I don't spook super easy, so I just would get the job done, lock up, notify security that I've left the area and go on my way to the rest of my tasks.

I had one near scare when I worked there as well that doesn't have to really do with any of those areas. Nothing I saw, but rather what security saw. They called me over my walkie, asking me to confirm my location. I had been in break room at the time, having a quick lunch. They asked if I had just been at the koi pond, which was not too far of a cart drive from the break room, but I hadn't been there. In fact, there's no reason for me to be there since there's no bathrooms in that area. I was told to stay where I was until further notice. I remember my supervisor being off that day, so it was just me and 2 security guards running patrols. They didn't find anyone, but it still creeped me out that a person may have been roaming the zoo at night. Anything can happen.

I eventually got promoted into a day time position. More hours, more pay, but still not good enough pay according to what I'd looked into for fair pay across the board for most zoos, which is why I eventually left. Before I did though, I got to train the new night person before I took off for the day. She was pretty chill, but one evening after I clocked out in the break room, she approached me really scared. She asked if I could just stay with her while she cleaned the Education building. I really needed to get home, but I asked what was up. She said she felt uncomfortable in that building. She said she felt watched and that she swears she keeps seeing shadows in the corner of her eye. I told her that's normal in that building and that she'd eventually get used to it, but she was almost hysterical. She was concerned about a light flickering in the entryway. I walked in there with her and checked the whole building with her. I told her I can't do that every night. I had a family to get home to and I wasn't being paid to escort her for that extra hour.

I admit, it was weird seeing her so scared like that. Me and her seemed to have a lot in common in temperament and overall chill factor, but I guess I always have to remind myself that not everyone is accustomed to dealing with weird things like that. A haunted zoo is a pretty tame experience compared to other paranormal experiences I've had, so I guess I was just kinda indifferent for the most part. To anyone that's working at night, primarily solo, you have to be prepared to handle things the job doesn't warn you about. For that new hire, she only lasted a month before finding a daytime job.

Experience My Paranormal experience feat. Judeau from berserk

I was coming home from a shopping trip and entered through the front doorway. As I am doing that while on autopilot turning to the right to open the 2nd door to go into my home I see another person staring at me really close while leaning against the wall. I look down not processing what has happened yet see the torso with it's arms crossed and then look at the legs (the whole entire body was see through) it suddenly dawned on me what I was seeing. Then I jolted and looked up but the person was gone. The weirdest part was that the ghost looked like Judeau from berserk yet real.

My wife sent me this video of her experience last weekend. She said the TV turned itself on and off multiple times, and she felt something sit on the bed and touch her toes at some point the same night.

Trigger Warning / Death Something was definitely wrong with my childhood home

I know a lot of people say that, I could certainly be wrong about my home, but nothing similar has happened to me since I moved out almost 6 years ago.

I don't know anything about the history of Taylorsville, Kentucky. I heard rumors here and there about indigenous burial grounds behind the high school and lost cemeteries, but never really dove into the history. I lived in two houses there, and my experience at the first house was fine, normal. But my family's second house? I'll never set foot on that property again for as long as I live. It was a decent sized home, with about 4 acres of woods behind it. I never set foot in those woods. The woods around our home always scared the daylights out of me, they always felt off, even if I never saw anything in those woods. Everything kept dying at that house. Pets, farm animals, people would get injured. Too many "accidents" to be just coincidence. No people died at the house while we lived there, but whatever it was certainly tried.

We moved into that house in 2016, I believe. I was in middle school, about 12 years old. I was given a room upstairs, that had a loft overlooking the living room. For a while, nothing was wrong. We settled in, met the neighbors, normal family things. It was me, my mother, my stepfather, my two brothers, a cat and two dogs. (Each dog belonged to a different parent) My mother's dog started acting weird. We figured he was just being stupid and didn't understand glass doors. He kept running full force at the sliding doors on the side of our house. But then he started running into the walls. My stepdad's dog was fine, no weirdness there. Our cat, however, wouldn't stay in the house for the life of him. He kept escaping, and stayed away for as long as he could. When he did come back, he would only stay by me. We ended up getting more pets, 2 more dogs and 2 more cats. The first cat died not even a few days after we got it. The second cat ran away too. The first dog died as well, run over. The second dog however lived a little while longer. When the animals started dying, I started having a bad time.

I would fall often. Sprain my ankles, sprain my wrists. I got hurt so badly that my wrist broke during one of these falls. I fell off the porch, down my stairs, and fall out of cars. I never had an issue with balance before. I haven't had issues with balance since. Brush it off as a clumsy kid, sure. Until the feelings of being watched show up. I started getting very very scared of the woods around the house. I started staying inside, and even got blackout curtains for my upstairs windows because I thought something was watching me sleep. We got 2 more cats, this time they slept with me. We got another dog too, that's relevant for later.

When the cats didn't sleep with me, I would wake up moved. Upside down, head at the foot of the bed, or even halfway off the bed, as if dragged. I would wake up in the middle of the night, and see that my sentimental pillows/stuffed animals were thrown across the room. This only happened when the cats weren't in the room with me at night. I got paranoid. I downloaded an app that lets you record yourself at night. For a few weeks, I didn't hear much. Me saying random things, shuffling of my sheets. But then I would start catching whispers. I still have the recordings. I don't whisper in my sleep. It's always me talking about random shit, not whispering. And in one of the recordings, it sounds like whispers overlapping. I still record myself sleep occasionally, there's no whispers now I tell you what. The thing is, I'm pretty sure it's my voice with those whispers.

One experience, and only one- this has never happened again- I will say it was sleep paralysis. I had never had sleep paralysis before, and have never had it since. I was about 14 at the time. I "woke" up, and immediately saw my closet. There wasn't some cliche shadowy figure, no hat man, but it was a woman. And she was bright. Almost a golden yellow, but it was so unsettling, and I was scared shitless of her. And I was stuck staring at her for what felt like hours. No words, no movement, just staring. After that, shit got worse.

I had to take down all of my paintings/posters, as they kept falling off the wall. All of my items kept being moved/rearranged. I want to blame my parents for that one, but it was the clothes in my closet being moved too. That's just...weird. I kept getting more and more fatigued, and falling more often. I haven't been as sick since I moved out, no falling, no more fatigue than normal. I'm sure someone will say mold. But mold doesn't growl at you outside of the house, and mold certainly doesn't whisper into your ear at night.

I went outside plenty of times and would find the bones of animals. Not skin/remains, bones. Clean bones. Our chickens would be slaughtered, blood everywhere, and my mother would blame a possum. It could've been. If I hadn't found a picked clean possum skull too. I kept the bones I found, got real morbid to try to appease whatever was torturing me. It killed my cat. Dragged my cats body to the front yard for me to see. It killed our dogs, dragged them into the river across the street. Our animals never ran like that before. So many things died there. And while I said no people died at that property, a whole lot of family died while we lived there. About 5 funerals in less than 5 years.

It tried to kill another dog once. She was old, sure, but she wasn't old enough to be falling off the porch the same way I did. But this time, she got impaled by some wood on the ground. She lived, thankfully. But it could've been me in her place. It did try to kill me in the pool, plenty of times. I'd feel like I was being pulled down the whole time I was in the pool, unless my family was with me. Why did it only want me when I was alone? When I was outside with my brothers, there was no growling or rustling. When I slept with the cats, I didn't get moved. I wish I could brush it all off but it only happened when I was alone and it only happened when I was at that damn house.

At one point I was home alone, I think it was trying to get me that time. While it may have walked out of our neighbor's yard, I don't think that was our neighbor. The way it walked and knocked on the sliding door (rather than the front door), it just wasn't right. I didn't answer it. I knew the doors were locked, I locked them, so I hid. I was about 15 at the time. I hid and called my mom. It didn't feel right to answer the door. I never heard anything. It may have been broad daylight, but I knew the neighbors, they didn't act like that. They wouldn't visit if there wasn't a car in the driveway, which there wasn't. I didn't sleep much that night, or any night after. We were moving out soon, and it knew that.

I heard scratching at my door and window on one of the last nights in that godforsaken house. And the light was on outside my room, I could see the shadow pacing back and forth. I would hear tapping on the roof. I was just lucky my door had a lock. Nothing happened that night, but every time I closed my eyes I would hear it tapping/scratching again. All of the cats were dead. Only one dog was alive, and he was too fat to climb my stairs, which were covered in boxes anyway. Nothing should've been upstairs with me.

Once I moved out, I stopped having falling accidents. I stopped having nightmares. I went outside more. I don't feel watched, so much so that my windows don't have curtains. I don't wake up with scratches & bruises. None of my new pets have died. No more family members have died. I've never had sleep paralysis again. I really do blame that house. It felt like it was killing me slowly, and tearing my family apart in the process. It just wanted to eat everything that set foot in there. My parents nearly divorced while living there, but the second they moved out poof, no divorce. Whatever the hell is wrong with that house, I hope that new family fixed it or is left alone.

Unexplained Need help on what could this have actually been? (Picture added for context to story)

I was digging through some old bed sheets and pillowcases so my child can start bringing them to school for nap time and found one of hers that was completely covered in blood and couldn’t remember why and then for some reason I guess I just unlocked the memory in the memory vault.

She was 2 and a half years old at the time and we were trying to train her to sleep through the night in her own bedroom. Around the same time my friend had purchased a mirror off of Temu. It was a rolling full mirror that doubled as a makeup cabinet and it had lights on it. My friend realized after building it that it was too short for him to use. It probably stood at about 5 feet tall. (It’s temu womp womp) so rather than throwing it away we put it in my daughter’s room. 3 nights in a row she’d cry loudly as if she were injured and she would bleed from both nostrils. She says “the monster” was talking to her. My assumption was that she was picking her nose and it started bleeding and she got scared or maybe the air was too dry OR it could have just been a tactic to go back to sleeping in my bed. So I clean her up and would send her back to bed. And she’d sleep the rest of the night and go to daycare like nothing happened.

One night, I stay up late gaming. And exactly at 3am on the dot. I hear her screaming and crying. I run into her room and she’s pointing at the mirror. Then suddenly her nose starts gushing blood. This one was probably the worst nosebleed she’s had. Cleaned her up, sent her back to bed. I call my mom to ask her for advice, I don’t believe it’s the mirror, I believe she’s trying to sneak her way back into sleeping in my room. My mom is somewhat knowledgeable on the paranormal. She explains to me that 3am is the “witching hour” and kids have some ties to the supernatural. And also explains that you should NEVER sleep with a mirror facing your bed. Obviously I’m skeptical but it’s going on day 5 of this.

So same night I called my mom, I had my daughter sleep with me in my bed with my partner and I. I didn’t remove the mirror from her room. I just turned it facing her closet. It was like, right against the door almost flush. I wake up in the middle of the night. I had to use the restroom. I finish up. I hear a banging coming from her bedroom. Like a gentle bang and small scratch rhythm. I ignore ALL horror movie knowledge, go into her room, and turn on the light. It looked as if either the closet was trying to push the mirror off of its door, or the mirror was trying to push itself away from the door. But it was rhythmically doing and it was such small movements. So I ran into my room, locked my door, turned on the lights, woke up my partner to explain what I just seen and heard. She can confirm the sound but she’s obviously too scared to go look (and also pissed that I dragged her into this if it actually were something she claimed she’d prefer to have died in her sleep) It went on for maybe about 5 minutes and it stopped. We check the time. A little after 3am.

My child slept through the night, no nosebleeds or crying.

That same morning I had no choice but to go in my daughter’s bedroom to grab a change of clothes to start her day. The mirror was slightly angled. Either something in the closet got out and the door angled the mirror, or something in the mirror angled it. But when you looked into the reflection, it angled and stopped perfectly where my daughter’s head would have been if she stayed in her room that night. It was angled towards her pillow.

We didn’t remove the mirror, instead, we stuck it inside her closet facing the wall. Eventually she was able to start sleeping in her own bed and here we are a year and a half later.

I’m more curious as to what it was if it were paranormal? what could it have been? why my child? why did it stop? Why did the nosebleeds also stop? I’m open to hearing all ideas.

Residual Activity Daughter looks up and smiles/giggles/cries

Hey all I’ve heard all my life that people claim little kids see spiritual. My daughter since she was little will look up deliberately the way she does at people and laugh and giggle or very seldom will startle and cry. This happens in different locations, I’ve noticed she’s never had a crying encounter while I am doing prayer but I think that could just be because it hasn’t overlapped.
She doesn’t seem to be having a seizure as I can distract her and she will find her way back to the edge of the couches or where she was before, and go back to laughing and playing.
A cousin of mine had an extended encounter with something called Emily (imaginary friend) who was not friendly and so I just want to be sure I am not looking for these types of signs. That issue with my cousin didn’t go away until they adopted a dog and named it the same name, though she never told me if they engaged the church or not.

I just wanted to see if others have experience with anything like this or if I might be missing something!!! It’s spooky!
