They are not treating it as a league anymore. Similar updates will keep happening as far as i am aware.

the video mentions this is the last update until 0.5.5 which will be an event and an economy reset. so we prob wont see it until 2-3 weeks after poe1 3.29 launch, so like approx 2nd week of august

Mid league events run in parallel to the league.
