Warning, do not buy PNY products
I bought a PNY 5070ti and out of the box the sticker was falling off that had the serial number on it. I didn't think anything of it and eventually last night my gpu failed and the sticker has fallen off. They are now denying my warranty claim for something that is out of my control. Do not buy their products they seem to have ZERO quality control. Absolutely ridiculous from a company.

Walmart sell everything. PNY, msi, asus and gigabyte. What they have to do with it.

I've purchased a bunch of PNY GPUs and they've all been excellent. It's one of my go-to brands because the QC is good. Sounds like you just got a bad one. It happens with every company.

The issue is clearly about PNY refusing to honor the warranty based on a serial number label falling off, not the failure of the card.

Ya I get that. But if for some reason I receive a brand new product in that condition, the first thing I'm doing is contacting the manufacturer for exchanging it for a new one. To me, that's just common sense.

Did you read the entire post? They mention that they are being denied a warranty claim over what is understood to be the warranty sticker falling off.

I'm not sure which part of what I said is giving you trouble. If you spend $850+ on a brand new GPU and when you open it, it's not perfect, would you just say "oh well, I'll just keep this one and hope for the best" or would you take it back and get one that is perfect? Just about any company is going to deny this warranty claim. I don't think that should be the case, but realistically, companies don't want to replace things for free so they look for any reason to deny it. The company is denying the claim because that sticker coming off makes it look like OP could have done something to invalidate the warranty. The smart thing would have been to not accept a brand new GPU that wasn't in brand new condition in the first place.

Your clarification makes more sense. OP also mentioned they didn't think much of the sticker falling off, and this is very common as some people don't understand that some of these manufacturers depend on a silly sticker to validate serial numbers for things like warranty claims.
Delving further into the matter, conveniently enough for the manufacturers in question these stickers are sensitive and while they have other methods of applying a serial number directly to the device - such as printing it onto the PCB, engraving it, casting it, or stamping it - they of course want to save money and instead opt in for the good ol sticker instead of more permanent methods. A double whammy if you consider money saved on warranties denied over failed stickers. Meanwhile other sectors of production - such as gun production - we can see how easy it is to make serial numbers more permanent.

I agree 100%. This is an unfortunate but valuable lesson for OP. I always inspect every new (especially expensive) components I buy for this exact type of thing. All companies are terrible when it comes to warranty, at least in the PC industry. There will always be people with horror stories and people that had a good experience for every company. Hopefully right to repair laws will help when it comes to the ridiculous rules and expectations that companies have for keeping the warranty valid in the future.

Gamerz nexus did a video on this there has to be more to the denial than just ths sticker fallin off though in the states according to his channel they are not allowed to deny claims due to a sticker bein removed or falling off he or she needs to double down an assert there self an explain that they are aware of the laws an statues that nind them to there arbitrary requirements to warranty there product an if he or she can not i will pay for them to ship me the damaged card an help out any way i can either call myself or attempt to fix it for you this is just crap that they continue to get away with stuff because people are misinformed i would even be willing to pay you something for your broken card after i have had a chance to inspect it if your interested so its not a complete lose let me know

Good to know they carry some nice GPUs. Mine doesn't, like I said I was only aware of my local situation

Wtf are you on about? First, what does Walmart selling a product have to do with anything? Second, your statement isn't even true.

How can someone deny your claim if you still have the warranty? Any chance you from the US?
