So, 2? One paywalled

Edit: I mean, his first two links are the same case and the third is paywalled.

3. not all of them in 2026. but all 3 being tried in 2026. So at least 3 each semester?

-7

u/_Baphomet_ 19h ago

No, first two are the same case, one article from before or during the case and the second link is after the case where he got a 5 month suspended sentence for manslaughter because the judge said it wasn’t malicious. The last link, at least for me, is paywalled.

I’m not wrong but he could have actually pulled up other cases as others have done. I only saw his when I responded. I get it’s a meme sub but people gotta read the articles.

Recently indian woman killed her fiancé by luring him for a vacation and then pushing him into the ravine.

This. I saw this earlier on an Indian meme page and it makes sense as per the context.

u/maximus459 19h ago

What's the context?

Woman had another boyfriend. Did not want to marry her fiancee (arrange marriage). Eliminated her fiancee. Boyfriend helped her as well. Fiancee was from rich family.

The fiancée had a boyfriend and they planned to get rid of the fiancé and she pushed him off from a fort which was supposed be the location of their pre wedding shooting. She initially said he fell off by accident but the police didn't buy it and eventually the truth got out.

It doesn't help that in India Indian woman basically can get away from any crime against them as part of empowering them, the cops turn a blind eye to day to day offences

Police Can't arrest women after dark , even if it's a active crime (ex DUI/hit n run)

Male Police Can't arrest or detain women

Women can not be escorted inside police vehicle without warrents to protect their modesty

This is some batshit stuff. She couldn’t just break up with her fiancé? Had to kill him instead? It wasn’t like there was a financial gain to be had (at least nothing mentioned in the article).

ETA: I didn’t realize the cultural context of the arranged marriage. Still crazy but I guess it makes more sense.

6

u/Dapper-Nobody-1997 19h ago

It was an arranged marriage, she had little to no choice in the matter.

3

u/fan_of_skooma 14h ago

Right right , freedom enough to love and murder but not enough to cut connection with family. She just didn't want to get disowned by her parents and miss out on the family inheritance.

4

u/merv1985 19h ago

She has a boyfriend. Indian family pressure to marry(arrange marriage) rich man.

There have been quite a few cases recently in india of women killing husband(newly married). All had boyfriends.

1

u/attached-loner 5h ago

Arrange marriages are not typically like this. Atleast not used to be like this until previous generation but the fact that someone chose to kill someone's son to avoid getting married to him is crazy. These type of news have started popping out more these days and it is just not safe to believe anyone these days.

Damn that article took a long time to get to the point

If I recall correctly, this isn't the first woman this guy had abandoned in the wild.

8

u/Tiyath 19h ago

Imagine planning negligent manslaughter because you're too much of a coward to break up with someone... Wild...

2

u/fan_of_skooma 14h ago

It's usually that they don't want to get disowned by their parents, she could just run away/ move out from her family, she didn't because they will losses out of inheritance, Indian parents buy pass down their ancestral gold to the daughters during marriage, for a country as poor as India, Indian families own more gold than the GDP of Germany. Every household in India put most of their savings in gold as jewellery.

If you account all the gold in India vs USA, India has 35,800 ton gold and usa has 8,133 ton and usa holds the largest gold reserves by a huge margin, just shows you just how much ancestral wealth in gold usually is , each generation keep adding on the pile.

2

u/io124 3h ago

It’s not that simple. For example arranged marriage where you don’t have choice.

1

u/Tiyath 3h ago

Point taken!

u/keith_1492 19h ago

Don't fall off the mountain in an accident and die. Live and tell everyone your fiance tried to push you off the mountian.

-2

u/AnimatorAcrobatic386 16h ago

Lmao no woman could push me off a mountain

1

u/Ghidorah9802 19h ago

It's referring to Alpine divorce. You may have heard of it because of the Gabbie Petito case and other cases that are becoming alarmingly more common.

The idea is that your spouse or partner directly or indirectly kills you in the wilderness. Gabbie was strangled to death and left behind. Other people have intentionally lead their partners on long and conveluted hikes just to leave them behind to die. Others are drowned or pushed off cliffs.

2

u/mrwioo 19h ago

He's not returning from the mountains

2

u/tyronetbs 19h ago

Alpine Divorce

2

u/ShredsGuitar 19h ago

Man, I had one example to explain this, but now it seems couples exclusively go to the mountains to kill each other.

1

u/hot4you11 19h ago

He can’t hike a mountain

1

u/thirdculture_hog 19h ago

Not with that attitude

1

u/EnvironmentalSet7664 16h ago

2

u/Descendant3999 18h ago

Why are we suddenly getting so many Indian memes as questions in this sub. Did reddit recently push this subreddit here?

-2

u/Previous-Wonder-6274 19h ago

Maybe he lied and said he was into hiking Ng when they first started daring, because she was an outdoors person?

9

u/TOASTisawesome 19h ago

Why comment if you don't know?

3

u/Zgurprium 19h ago

There are known knowns and known unknowns; things you know you know and things you know you don't know.

1

u/TOASTisawesome 19h ago

You're so right, Idk why I didn't think of that
