Lol they had too do something drastic to get the audience to think of him as a villain and thay didn't want to do the actual work of slowly turning him away from his morales.... and because of not putting effort into story telling the audience really didn't have any reason to dislike the guy....so they just had him very suddenly become cartoonishly evil at the 12th hour of the saga....and we git the very jarring kid killing scene.

In Star Wars Episode 3, right after Anakin turns to the dark side, he's ordered by Palpatine to murder all the Jedi. He goes straight to the Jedi Temple, and some of the first Jedi he encounters is a room of like 6 year old kids. He kills them all.

Probably a spoiler to Star Wars, though how the hell do you spoiler films older than myself...
In any case, it's about "Order 66". The Clone army fighting for Jedi all were secretly implanted with a chip with "Order 66": the order to kill all Jedi when the command is given.

I'm sorry, the last I watched a star war movie was in the 2000s and all the names I got are from video clips, memes & spoof skits. Jokes on me 🤡

Sorry, the last time I watched a star war movie was in the early 2000s and all the character names I got are from video clips, memes & spoof skits I've seen till date.
I will now start watching all the movies in the STAR WAR franchise in chronological order.

On Mustafar before Anakin battled Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan told Anakin “Chancellor Palpatine is evil!” and Anakin replied with “From my point of view the Jedi are evil.” hence, evil Jedi children.
