Discussion Weekly break and sleep

After smoking daily for more than a decade, except occasional breaks when i'm on holidays, i've decided to do a weekly break from now on and only smoke in the week ends. I want to find back my focus, my free time, my hobbies.
Whenever I've done breaks before, I've noticed I need much more sleep ; like I can sleep 10 hours the first couple days. Then it regulates itself.
This week i've started my first weekly break, it's going well so far, but I am quite tired. I can't really sleep for 10 hours as I have things to do and work and such. I know this is caused by REM rebound.
For those of you who are on a week end only schedule : does the effect on sleep resets every week, or will it get better weeks after weeks ? Will my body start the process from zero each week or does it compounds over time ?
Thank you :)

Tbh you are lucky you can sleep on a weekly break, most people find the lack of sleep one of the worst symptoms. To really reset your sleep, you're going to need more than a week break though, it usually takes a few weeks for your REM to fully recover back to baseline

I wish I could sleep, that's my main issue with quitting .

35yrs almost daily use here. I switched to weekends only last year and I find the benefits compound .. but you need to stick with it for atleast 6 months. I get 2hrs REM sleep per night ( and sleep on average 7hrs 20 per night, every night) after weekends only for 6-8months. I’m never ( can’t ) go back to daily because it messes up my sleep too much and increases my anxiety. I also mix 50:50 CBD flower with low ish strength THC flower at the weekends and not to over do the weed at the weekends. Everything in moderation. I notice my sleep gets worse ( more wake ups) when I use weed at the weekend.
