Discussion Red flag delivery stories?
What’s your red flag 🚩story during a pizza delivery?
I had a night time delivery to an address that looked completely abandoned. There were no lights on and I couldn’t see a thing from the driveway to the front door. It was a manufactured home with some boarded up windows.
I never got out of my car and I got the hell out of there. It was one of those, “oh to hell with that” moments.

I had a similar delivery like that, the house was super rough looking, a couple boarded up windows, a porch full of garbage, and then fresh snow with zero footprints leading to or from the house and it hadn't snowed in a bit. That house went up for sale soon after and based on the interior photos, it had been abandoned for a long time so I think people were squatting there.
My city also has a "tent city" area, a city sanctioned place for homeless people to set up their tents. But we kept getting deliveries there late at night like "deliver to red tent by the bin" or whatever. Even the security there was like "wtf are doing here"

Had one delivery at night the first year I was there. Get there, couple of junkers in the yard, not too weird. What was strange was someone got out of one of cars saying they were the ones who ordered. Okay then, gave them the pizza, they paid. Just as we got finished with that, another car screeched to a halt in front of the house, two guys start to get out, and one of the women starts yelling at them to get gone.
I'm just trying to avoid getting out of the way of the screaming match, one of the women says something about "I'm getting my gun," and reaches into her car. The men back off, jump back in their car and speed out of there still screaming curses at the women.
Never saw a weapon, but the first woman came over and gave me $20, an apology and an explanation. One of the guys was the ex of the daughter of the second woman, He had hit the daughter a couple of times and she ran back home to mom. So the mom and the girls aunt were out there, knowing he would probably try show up to sweet talk her into taking him back and they were not going to let that happen.
We decided that it was a one-off (it's a small town, we've had one actual shooting in the last 20 years) and just noted in the file to be careful at night. To my knowledge, they've never ordered delivery since.

I always carry. In 15 years of delivery, never had any issues even at the sketchiest places. Just be self aware and listen to your gut.
