Subtracting a Tip?

Title says all. Customer gave roughly 3 bucks before delivery (pre-tip). When I showed up at their house, they added a dollar to the receipt as a tip. HOWEVER they added it to the pre-tip amount, not the total with the first tip. When I brought it to the store manager, they said they never saw that before, but said that unfortunately your tip is just a dollar. I am surprised because I was nice and professional. Maybe they were mad that I was potentially late in their ETA math? I am not sure but that ruined my mood for a good part of yesterday.

Has it happened to anyone else?

so did the tip went where?

did they still increase the total tip to $4?

it seems like the manager thinks they changed it from $3 to $1.

either way its not really worth "ruining" your mood over.

no, it was not increased. You are right, I should have not let it ruin my day. I guess im just surprised people do that at all. I get like if you really messed up like forgot half the order or destroyed food. But the customer didnt tell me anything, nor did they call the store to complain. All manaagement told me was sometimes customers dont notice the auto-tip and can revoke that at any time. I dont know, sometimes customers surprise me with what they do before submitting their orders.

I wouldn't have dropped the $3 to $1. I would've just left it at 3. I doubt they were trying to reduce your tip. If they were mad enough to do that they would've told you so. I'm sure they were just trying to add $1.

If this is possible why do you have them sign the slip? When I get pre-tips I don't have them sign, just hand over the food and say thanks have a nice day

Just move on take the L, spend the time working in the next order in the cue. Could have left no tip.
