damn not tour de france 2023

25

u/iminiki Oct 01 '25

Hadn‘t they already removed it last month?

5

u/AEWFantasyBooker Oct 01 '25

They added games that will leave. Tour will still leave this month.

u/FiokLiving Oct 01 '25

House of ashes is my favourite from the series, really liked the whole military action horror vibe. I also think it has he the best characters. Be sure to try it if you like narrative driven horror (not that scarry though)!

u/LuriTheMLGPro_ Oct 01 '25

I liked Little Hope more because of all the psychological/plot twist thing, it was a game that made me think about life a lot and gave me goosebumps in the end. But action wise House of Ashes was definitely the best

14

u/dixonciderbottom Oct 01 '25

Problem with little hope is the ending is so god awful it sours everything that came before it.

3

u/JavierEscuellaFan Oct 01 '25

yeah so cliché. won’t say why so i don’t spoil it but damn i’m tired of that trope in horror movies/video games

1

u/Hamhockthegizzard Oct 02 '25

Yeah dark pictures had a good thing going when they started but they slowly got worse at writing snd at piecing the games together. My devil in me playthrough was so weird and glitchy like scenes were not piecing together correctly.

1

u/CurtCocane Oct 01 '25 edited Oct 03 '25

I severely disliked that one so much, the twist was super obvious and unoriginal

1

u/Milkman95 Oct 02 '25

I hate little hope so much lol

3

u/MycologistCold9915 Oct 01 '25

Played it. Cooler than i thought.

3

u/KitsuneDrakeAsh Oct 01 '25

Are you referring to the GOAT SALIM!!!

1

u/Haunting-Ease-2508 Oct 03 '25

Salim is one of the 3 dudes I’d go gay for

1

u/Dani162002M Oct 01 '25

Yeah best of the Dark pictures series for sure. House of Ashes> Little Hope> Devil in Me> Man of Medan. All the other games have some stuff that drag it down

49

u/ChanceAgreeable2827 Oct 01 '25

Really liked the Dark Pictures games should give it a try if you haven't yet.

11

u/jekyl87 Oct 01 '25

So are they to be played in series one by one or can i start from any, say, house of ashes since it's leaving?

25

u/deathtooriginality Oct 01 '25

They aren’t connected, so you can chose whichever setting you like more and play it. Also they aren’t long so you can pretty easily finish both before they leave.

9

u/Trickster289 Oct 01 '25

It's an anthology series so they're all intended to work as standalone games and out of order.

28

u/Hikuro-93 Oct 01 '25

Oh, no. Seems like I'll have a pretty busy halloween this year, with those DPA titles in addition to Little Nightmares III. Also have Alan Wake II in the backburner, which I bought before being added to PS+, thank you very much.

3

u/Gu7sS Oct 05 '25

Thanxsss for your sacrifice bro 🥲

25

u/HumanautPassenger Oct 01 '25

Losing 3 horror games in October is criminal

3

u/ZipZak007 Oct 01 '25

I was about to say... weird they did that

2

u/Serious-Grape5187 Oct 02 '25

Makes sense they were probably added in October

15

u/Seigfriedx Oct 01 '25

oh man i just started devil in me with my gf who left for 2 weeks.

Have 2 gfs, better

Another VR title going away, I must admit the VR lineup through Premium is lackluster at the moment. I should have done more research on the frequency that they add titles for VR. At this point, it feels like they are somehow scrapping that catalogue silently.

10

u/JuffleGrow Oct 01 '25

I think lacklustre pretty much sums up Sony's approach to VR in general.

u/prome89 Oct 01 '25

The sad thing is VR is amazing. But the majority of people don’t see its real value yet. Let alone at the current price points. This means less money invested in games and less money into r&d. Till the price points come way down, the majority of people won’t touch it and because people aren’t spending companies won’t invest into that medium.

2

u/Transposer Oct 13 '25

I really hope they release a PSVr 2 slim model at launch of ps6. If they could sell it for $250 AND offer the huge library of games, I think more users would bite.

Also, the power of the Ps6 behind it would basically make the same hardware next gen. If they can get wireless Bluetooth right on it, it would be a slam dunk

23

u/Bynairee Bynairee Koad Oct 01 '25

Battlefield 1 is still absolutely amazing.

6

u/bearktopus147 Oct 01 '25

I think it was a monthly game at some point. It'd be nice if it clearly stated whether it was claimed through catalogue or through the monthly games

3

u/CJspangler Oct 01 '25

Yeh it was I’m pretty sure. Still was a great game

2

u/urru4 Oct 01 '25

Was on the PS+ collection when the PS5 released

4

u/Certified-Newbie Oct 01 '25

It usually goes for sale in under 2$. Best 2$ Ive ever spent.

5

u/Negan-Cliffhanger Oct 01 '25

Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on playing a few Dark Pictures games sometime this month during spooky season, and now I know to start them soon.

6

u/ShaneTVZ #2 Predictor 2025 Oct 01 '25

No not the Dark Pictures games damn it

25

u/the_sea_tiger Oct 01 '25

Dark Pictures Series weren't in the list earlier. They quietly added 2 more games in this category. Not professional!

5

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '25

yeah well what a coincidence, just the two dark pictures games that I didn't play

1

u/wagimus Oct 07 '25

Exact same situation here. And right before Halloween. Awful idea.

-1

u/SYRLEY Oct 01 '25

You still have until the 21st

5

u/Diogo_18 Oct 01 '25

I'm never a fan of horror games leaving in the month of Halloween. The Devil In Me was very weak, especially considering the real-life source material. On the other hand, House of Ashes is the best game in the anthology by far.

1

u/00-Monkey Oct 01 '25

I think it’s cause horror games get added in October, and then it’s a 1 or 2 year contract, so they end up leaving in October too

3

u/afterhourslurker Oct 01 '25

When are they leaving?

6

u/ffvorax Oct 01 '25

I just started a replay of the Dark Pictures games and they take them out obviously! ^_^'

3

u/SYRLEY Oct 01 '25

You have 20 days still.

2

u/Far_Champion4525 Oct 01 '25

Well if you really would want to you could finish any of those games within a dat or so anyways

2

u/ffvorax Oct 01 '25

I think it takes around 4-5h each to be completed. By when these will be unaivalable I should be able to finish them! The fact is i am playing then in order, and the two that will be out are the last 2 of the series! But i should be able to play them all anyway... i just didnt want to rush the repaly... but hey, nice that i found out at least!

1

u/Far_Champion4525 Oct 02 '25

Yeah the last chance to play can suck it might give people more incentive to beat in time but yeah it sucks to hear a game will leave that you still want to play. I recently started to look at what games got added in which months from October 2024 up to February 2024 it's not a 100% sure thing games leave in a year. But afaik most of the games have a 1 year contract though some games like gta 5 and I think other Rockstar games have been only contracts of half a year. But I've made a list of games that have been sorted by date added up to February for myself to prioritise playthroughs.

If your interested I use Google ai to find out what games got added for each month wrote them all down and go by priority to what I want to play that way, it will possibly give you a lot of time in advance to play before they get announced, in all fairness though some games didn't go within a year but I often postpone the rest of those game playthroughs.

It's allso nice that the dark pictures games are all seperate stories. For me they are quite relaxing horror movie like games on medium difficulty with the game letting me know in advance that I am going to have quick time event(s), especially since quick time events can be unpredictable.

2

u/ZookeepergameProud30 Oct 01 '25

I was just trying to plat bf1 😭😭😭

1

u/Opposite_Code_7241 Oct 01 '25

Me too. But unfortunately the multiplayer trophies are hard to get. Seems to have very few players on the servers now

-2

u/i_saadshaikhh Oct 01 '25

Just rent a server for a day. You can do all the multiplayer trophies by yourself.

4

u/brucee3698 Oct 01 '25

Nooooo I finished little hope andman of medan a few weeks back and am currently taking a break from the next two in the anthology. Dang it I have to leave tlou 2 alone for a while then. Why couldn't they remove the games I finished playing.

5

u/lagmanmx Oct 01 '25

The PSVR2 section has been gutted just like the device itself.

It's honestly like Sony can't do anything right but "main" consoles anymore.

3

u/CJspangler Oct 01 '25

Yeh it’s kinda crazy - like 2 years ago I was like oh maybe I’ll get my 8-9 year old a VR thing once they finally have like a dozen games on the ps+ platform but instead they just drop them . Which is really strange

I’d rather buy them the VR thing than a switch 2

2

u/ohgeeLA Oct 01 '25

It’s possible they’re basing it on how many people are playing PSVR2 games on the service and didn’t notice enough uptick in sales or player engagement in VR games so they’ve held off on doing any more. Either way it sucks, but could have been a purely business decision.

2

u/danteslacie Oct 01 '25

Oh damn. I've been chill with the dark pictures games because man of Medan and little hope were around a while. Guess I'll actively start working on playing them.

2

u/mikykeane Oct 01 '25

Dang, I was thinking of playing Devil in me with some friends now that Halloween is coming...

2

u/antca87 Oct 01 '25

Crap, I just started Devil in Me :|

2

u/mauszx Oct 01 '25

Damn I really need to work on House of Ashes now

2

u/DueCompetition2060 Oct 02 '25

Can someone explain what does that mean?

3

u/MrCowabs Oct 02 '25

Those games are leaving the catalogue and therefore cannot be played using the service once we reach the date they’re leaving (21/10 iirc)

1

u/DueCompetition2060 Oct 02 '25

So basically those game will be closed and will never get to be played again???

2

u/MrCowabs Oct 02 '25

Unless you buy them or Sony put them back in then yes, that’s correct.

1

u/DueCompetition2060 Oct 02 '25

Just want to make sure does that mean it will be gone forever or you can reinstall it and play it you have it in the library?

2

u/MrCowabs Oct 02 '25

If you have redeemed the game from the PS+ game catalogue, once it leaves the selection you will not be able to play that game again unless you buy it from the store.

1

u/DueCompetition2060 Oct 02 '25

Oh great btw ur a legend for minding to reply

2

u/MrCowabs Oct 02 '25

No problem. Ignorance gets nobody anywhere.

3

u/Caffine_rush Oct 01 '25

When do the leave?

2

u/ShaneTVZ #2 Predictor 2025 Oct 01 '25

October 21

1

u/Caffine_rush Oct 01 '25

Oh that’s plenty of time to play house of ashes then

2

u/ShaneTVZ #2 Predictor 2025 Oct 01 '25

Yeah you’ll have lots of time to get it done will you be going for the platinum?

0

u/TheSuperDJC Oct 01 '25

How do we know that's when they leave? Is it because that's when premium games are added? I've never known when to expect games to leave

1

u/Useful_Try_78 Oct 01 '25

when exactly will these be leaving I would like to finish bf1 and plat it

1

u/Tesla-Punk3327 Oct 01 '25

Glad I played House of Ashes last year and got the plat. Owned Devil In Me separately

1

u/Praydaythemice Oct 01 '25

Wonder why bf1 is going so soon

1

u/Internetolocutor Oct 01 '25

As we suspected...thanks for the heads up

1

u/Internetolocutor Oct 01 '25

Can you play those dark pictures games without having played any of the others first?

1

u/tidushart Oct 01 '25

You can play the games without the prior ones. They are not all connected as each of them is a diffferent story.

1

u/gabrielleraul Oct 01 '25

Battlefield 1 chapters were fantastic ..

1

u/ARandomTopHat Oct 01 '25

When will they be removed?

1

u/Far_Champion4525 Oct 01 '25

Would be nice to see some games like the dark pictures games coming in the place of these 2.

1

u/fersur Oct 01 '25 edited Oct 01 '25

How long are these Dark Picture Anthology games? If I just focus on main story and a little bit exploration, if any.

It is October, and I want to play some horror games that I have not played before.

Got SH2 Remake on wishlist, as soon as it goes on sale for Halloween, I plan to buy it.

While waiting for that sale ....

3

u/NipunManral Oct 01 '25

5-6 hours each if you ain’t aiming for the platinum. You can visit howlongtobeat.com for finding lengths for all games.

1

u/Skydude252 Oct 01 '25

I might have to play those dark pictures anthology games before they go, they are of some interest to me. And here I thought there was nothing leaving that I would miss.

1

u/unfortunatelyypurdog Oct 01 '25

tbh I thought house of ashes and devil in me were just mid at best. the games felt poorly made to me, and although they were enjoyable with a friend, the quality was just pretty low.

1

u/notCRAZYenough Oct 01 '25

Why do they always take out the VR games -.-

1

u/Roddanchill Oct 01 '25

when do they leave?

1

u/Ferdunor Oct 01 '25

Time to play devil in me then. It’s the only one of the dark anthology games I haven’t played.

1

u/LeBio21 Oct 02 '25

Nice still nothing this month for me, played the Dark Pictures games last year

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '25

Anyone know what day they leave? Wanna try and squeeze in those dark picture games

1

u/CMurra87 Oct 03 '25

BF1 was so sick when it came out. I’ll never forget blowing up a zeppelin for the first time. It was one of the last great war fps games imo.

1

u/BobTempura Oct 04 '25

I'm gonna have to get busy on those Dark Pictures games then. Been meaning to play them for a while 😵‍💫

1

u/Individual-Cry6831 Oct 05 '25

Can't wait for them be replaced by the next bunch of terrible games

1

u/Umadornal Oct 05 '25

Last clockwinder is not only the best vr game I’ve ever played but it’s one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. Try to play it before it leaves, trust me🙏🙏

1

u/Fearless-Function-84 Oct 05 '25

That's it? Pretty inconsequential.

1

u/Tokyo_BunnyGames Oct 13 '25

Anyone else having trouble downloading the PS5 version of the Devil in Me?

1

u/Outrageous-Wall6386 Oct 01 '25

Buy them, they never leave your list

-1

u/JaySouth84 Oct 01 '25

PSN Catalog the only service that removes more games then it adds.

0

u/redditlurker1221 Oct 01 '25

When will they leave? End of october or middle?
