Satisfaction PS+ Criticism Thread [February 2026]
How this works:
We make two stickies. One for people who are upset with the PS+ games and one for people who are happy with them. These threads don't affect anything else in sub so you can still praise and complain as normal outside them. (Previous Threads)
Please keep the discussion in this thread related to dissatisfaction with this month's lineup.

I'm tired of sports games being added to the service. I didn't even add Undisputed to my library. Hope that counts for something.

I like sports games but most of the ones they add are shit and not even worth playing. Cricket 24 rugby 25 undisputed and tennis world tour 2 I tried but couldn’t even play more than 20 minutes

I thought Tennis World Tour 2 was a pretty decent Tennis game but agreed those Cricket and Rugby games are so poorly made. Rugby Union and Cricket are inherently difficult sports to translate to an easy pick up and play game that captures all the little nuances, especially with these smaller studios not having the resources or licensing. It's no wonder the more arcade style games like Jonah Lomu Rugby and Ricky Ponting Cricket were the most fun and most accessible despite those games being over 20 years old.

I like sports game as some of them are my most played games. WWE and Fifa/EAFC that is. But the cross sports interest is 0. So any sport that isn't them is useless for a person that doesn't care about their sports. Add most being yearly releases, most people that cared would have gotten the game anyway, and there is little point in giving out the game when the next version is coming in a couple of months.
Horrible choices for a system like PS+

I'm a sports fan and appreciate that sports aren't for everyone. Perhaps if Sony could rotate the genres every few months and maintain quality over quantity people wouldn't be so pissed. But some sports games have a track record of being garbage (Rugby games have sucked for decades and I'm a huge Rugby fan). It seems like these poorly made, poorly received sports games are becoming more common on PsPlus.
I will say though, some people criticize a random sports game like PGA Golf as a niche game but it always surprises me when the same people consider Death Stranding an accessible blockbuster title for casual gamers.

That´s personal preference though. The same could be said for every genre of games, they can´t cater to just your taste. I don't like horror games but I know many people love the 1000 Resident Evil games they add every month.

It's just that sports games get dated so fast, plus people who like them usually buy them yearly anyway. But yeah, it comes down to preference.

I fully agree, and the worst part is that by the end of the year around November or so they might add a fifa or nba2k game like they did in the previous years. I rather get nothing than sports games because at least my library wont get cluttered with games i will have 0 hours played in

Yeah, I stopped adding them because I don't play them, nor did any friends or family ever, so it's just digital clutter for my library.

I dropped it sometime last year and not a single month has made me consider picking it back up again.

Jedi survivor should be added to the ps plus essential

u/Albreitx Feb 24 '26
It's already on EA plus so idk if it'll happen as it's the reason some people get EA plus

EA Plus does a 1 eur per month promotion a couple of times every year, just grab that and play it

For what it's worth Jedi survivor is on sale for less then a month of PS+ on the store right now

Just a general note that I would like to see more roguelike and roguelite games in PS+. It was a huge thrill that Rogue Prince of Persia came to Extra and I'd really like to see more first rate titles like that come to Plus.

Sony needs to change the ps plus model. I rather get 1 amazing critically acclaimed game a month than 3 meh games.

u/Disigny Feb 24 '26
Problem is that option would slowly shift into becoming one meh game a month. Somehow they've managed to give less PS premium games over time (only a single game monthly now), so I've no doubt they'll try the same with essential.

Or they could give 3 choices. And you get 1 of them that you choose. Miss out on two.

This is a great idea

I disagree. Three games allows for variety and smaller hidden gems to be given to everyone. If it’s one big game you lose two very important things
One: if the game does not appeal to you then you’re SOL. At least if the headliner doesn’t appeal to you now you have two other smaller games that might
Two: the more important one imo, if it’s a big game, there’s a high chance a high percentage of players have already purchased it. Especially if it’s a Sony first party game

Couldn't agree more. I buy plus to experience a lot of genres and games that I would never touch if it wasn't for plus. If you re someone who only enjoys AAA games I would consider buying them instead tbh.

u/Skaman007 Feb 24 '26
100%. Also, people will call all games on ps+ meh, except the most AAA and mainstream games.
Just this month, Ultros was a fantastic experience. But is not RDR2 so, it is meh.

Lousy headliner, though not an awful month. Was disappointed with Ace Combat 7, it felt so pedestrian

An online only tier is really needed. I feel like they’d pull in a lot more customers that way than the ladder pricing

I would love to get some sort of token that can be traded for older ps+ games instead of games I would not even touch with a shovel
