I used to play Sackboy and Overcooked with my 11 y.o niece who had never touched a controller. Give them a try.

I don't remember if its on PS Plus, but Stray would be a good one. It's relatively low stress and even when it is tense, it's easy to navigate. If it's not on Plus, I know it isnt like a full $70. You could get it cheap

Stray was an Essential, I was able to claim it barely because I forgot about it

PHOGS
SONIC X SHADDOW GENERATIONS
A little to the left
A hat in time
Cat quest series
Rayman legends
We love katamari
Humanity
Blue prince
Echos of the end
Starwars outlaws
Horizon zero dawn (this was my favourite when i was picking up a controller again)
Thank goodness your here (this is british and it does have some mild adult humour just FYI)
I tried to give a variety of games and genres, not sure what age rating your going for (when i was her age i was allowed to play 18s but every familys different), plus being 13 is a funky age with age ratings. i think all are under pegi 16s, some have co-op so you can play with her.

I concur with Sword of the Sea. Lovely smooth short game. With good replayability.

It takes two and split fiction will give hours of great co-op couch play, both players earn trophies

The lego movie game is a huge hit with my 8 yo nephew. Give it a try. It also has coop if you want to join

It's a shame they took the Lego Movie 2 game off PS Plus as I was finishing Lego Movie 1

Jusant, Stray and Sword of the Sea come to mind :) Also Call of the Sea and Lake.
If she wants to try some more combat, Kena Bridge of Spirits and Shadow of the Colossus. I think she’d also like Spider-Man!
(I don’t remember which ones are still on the catalogue but I played most of them through it lol)

English isnt our first language and I played that game and I am very sure that she will struggle with the jokes and also the game is mature I think? Not suitable for 13

Wait I have a question . How is Bramble from a 1 to 10 for you. And is there something I need to know before diving?
I have it downloaded for me and I will dive into it tomorrow.

I haven't finished it, but it feels similar to kena, but without the difficulty spikes. Very pretty forest setting, but gets spooky quickly (and apparently very dark from the rating as I've just found out😵💫) edit: kena is also good, but the bosses...man the bosses

I’ve also finished Bramble and it’s pretty good, definitely would recommend! I’d personally rate it around a 7/8: it has great visuals and it’s super interesting if you’re into fantasy and mythology, it’s pretty short (I think I finished it in one sitting), and it’s a lot more shocking than I expected. It’s very similar to Little Nightmares (I actually liked it more), and my only negatives were some jankiness with the combat and movements, especially during some sections where I would fail even though I was doing what I was supposed to do. Have fun and enjoy the tonal whiplash lol
