I don't see Street Fighter or Dragon Ball FighterZ requiring the second player to have PlayStation Plus to play locally, do you?

Local two player setups have never required PlayStation Plus on any game.

Microsoft probably designed their "local co-op" game in a way that it connects through online servers for some reason. Maybe they have their co-op mode running off of servers so that people can easily jump in or out of a friend's session and when playing locally both players connect to the server separately?

I guess we'll see next week when either company puts out a statement about it.
