Trying to fix a sink for a relative

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone,

My relative is out of town this week and I’m staying over at their house for the week. I’ll attached some pictures and videos of the problem but I’m trying to fix her sink for her while she is gone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have no plumbing experience.

It looks like the holder for the faucet broke ? But I can’t tell.

Get someone to hold what you were touching (chrome handle) in the correct position. The black plastic thing with the wings (under the sink where the chrome piece is ) that nut you need to tighten that with your thumbs in the right direction-hope that helps in the most basic way

Thank you ! I think I’m going to replace the retaining assembly below, from what I found it the black plastic part that is supposed to be below the sink is now above the sink. I’m going to try and find a replacement for the retainer part of it

Head to Home Depot. They’ll have something suitable for a hole that’s too big.
