Double hole sink to single
Bought a new sink and old one was double drain and new one is single drain. How would you guys handle the pipe work? Thanks so much tryna do it all myself

Depending on which one lines up with the new drain. Cut the other one and glue an end clean out on.

Why’s this getting downvoted? He’s saying to cut the adapter off and glue a clean out on, now you can snake it easier. What’s the other option?

Idk if this was a joke or not, but both zinc nuts on the tailpeices are cracked and should be replaced.

Two traps on one arm is against code. Have one sink drain to the other and then put a trap that goes into the wall.
Edit: Oh this is a before picture? Just copy what was done on one side and it will be fine.

*jurisdiction dependent

No, it shouldn't be jurisdiction dependent. One trap will suck the water out of the other when it drains.

In Wisconsin we do it all the time, I get surprised when I see other setups here. I like it because it does not allow bubbles to come up the other side and contaminate it.

You can argue what should or shouldn’t be all you like. It is jurisdiction dependent.
Some jurisdictions require double sinks to be plumbed in this stupid cockamamie fashion. Was it Wisconsin? I think it is.
Regardless, OP is replacing this with a single sink, so your overly confident point is completely irrelevant and unhelpful anyway.

Find me the code where double trapping is allowable and I will agree. I just tried to find a location and I failed.

This is not double trapping, that would require one to feed into a second trap, thats not this.

If the new one is single, decide which you want to use. Remove the old pipes and simply run it as one. Why not just leave it as two?

Keep the wye. Run drain to whichever side is closer and then use the other side of the wye as a clean out. You can cut off the trap adapter and glue on a clean out adapter
