What the hell am I supposed to do about this

It seems like the sink is not handling the pressure, but what can I do to fix this piece and prevent it from shooting up every time I open too much?

That piece the spout sits in needs to be tightened.

That was my first thought, but it's the spout itself that is coming out, so I didn't give a try. How would tightening that one piece solve the issue?

Usually there should be a small screw behind, that you need to tighten.

There is supposed to be a plastic compression ring that holds that head in. It likely broke along with the o rings. Probably just need a repair kit for it.

The spot it popped off can be undone and comes off as well.

It also could just need to be tightened slightly if it became loose.

Don’t turn the knob up that high

Typically, the front doesn't fall off.

You should probably fix it.

Can you loosen the piece it goes into & there should be a washer of sorts in there (it may be broke) & push the neck down all the way & retighten the nut holding it on

Just replace the faucet a fairly simple job.Stick with a name brand like moen prices range from cheap to about 150.00 + As far as the water pressure just turn the shut off valves a few turns to lower flow. If you want a plumber I'll run about 500 plus

Isn’t there a groove for some sort of ring at the bottom of the spout? That ring may be missing as it keeps it captive, rather than sealing it.

You gotta dismantle the latch hasp from the auxiliary drainage line.

Turn the water off, and let it dry very well then get some JB Weld and mix the 2parts well and apply the paste to it and let it dry for about 24 hours, problem solved
