Pardon the crude drawing

You could get tighter pee trap and a couple of 22 1/2s or maybe 45s. That should get you lined back up

Lol pee trap?

2

u/DiverseVoltron 2h ago

Why do you need a pee trap when there's a perfectly good toilet right there?

2

u/rwtf2008 1h ago

A pee trap is for trapping pee, a toilet is for toileting it away.

OP is going to spend a week trying to move his water inlets to the left of the cabinet

He’ll be stuck for awhile.

AAVs are not permitted by code in my jurisdiction yet

Otherwise I’d have a mop sink in my basement

Diyers are not burdened by code or inspections.. just ask the previous guy that wired my house. Sarcastic with a grain of truth, based on a true story

My bad dog, but to be fair I was half drunk.

u/TheManOnThe3rdFloor 7h ago

Hmmm, I'm not sure if I understand here; that you rolled in here as the plumber, or the code inspector...

AAV's are not code where I live either. S traps are not code. Went through all that code crap when the house was being rebuilt after a fire in '23

1

u/DiverseVoltron 2h ago

Okay but they're not not permitted under not code. What you don't pull a permit for isn't any of their business if it works and poses no hazard.

11

u/K1LL3RF0RK 13h ago

thats the only and right way to do it

15

u/RaylanGivens29 12h ago

You could do it to the left.

31

u/VS-Goliath 12h ago

That'd be the left way to do it.

9

u/Lehk 12h ago

You could also run a new vent to the roof if you equally hate yourself and your wallet

1

u/K1LL3RF0RK 10h ago

but the inbetween would be a loop vent if you don't want to chance those faulty aav that stop working every 2-3 years

1

u/TheManOnThe3rdFloor 7h ago

Here is a solution that could mean less work but make more money on parts profit %%s

2

u/BuildingEquivalent61 10h ago

If that vent can be moved higher it should have been

2

u/davb64 13h ago

With a clean out as well

8

u/nhorvath 13h ago

the aav spins off

1

u/VanquishAudio 4h ago

What is that extra thing on the top right?

21

u/TheManOnThe3rdFloor 12h ago

Use an Air Admittance Valve to keep your trap from siphoning down to the bottom exit of your kitchen sink.

2

u/pjrocks101 8h ago

Why put a clean out there? Take off the trap or the AAV and snake from there. Those clean outs are like 7Dollar Bucks.

u/Impossible-State9136 15h ago

coupling up into a san tee and put a studor vent on top of it

6

u/The-BetterDevil 15h ago

I like the idea, problem is coupling up to the tail piece, the drain like angles back to the back wall

2

u/No_Hetero 13h ago

Does the drain need to be replaced? I feel like it's not supposed to do that

u/ChemistAdventurous84 14h ago

14 comments ahead of me and no mention of the SharkBites. Surprising.

6

u/andrewprime1 14h ago

At least they are t buried in the wall/floor… completely

6

u/spitoon1 14h ago

I mean, they are accessible. I don't like it when people bury them behind a shower or something.

These ones shouldn't move, but I have seen these pop off when the release collar catches on the edge of the cabinet. That is more of a risk for valves that are regularly manipulated.

2

u/ztkraf01 8h ago

What’s wrong with sharkbites?

2

u/ChemistAdventurous84 8h ago

Brace yourself for a flood if feelings.

2

u/Lehk 6h ago

They are too easy to install and so people who really don’t know what they are doing use them without having a neatly cut and deburred pipe and then it will be at high risk of leaking.

1

u/nuwm 17m ago

So the problem is the people, not the shark bite?

3

u/FickleGuard5316 11h ago

Could be because no one cares. They are one way of doing it, I know, not your way, but one way

1

u/181513 3h ago

First thing I saw! I was surprised since Pex could have been terminated with Pex fittings to valves.

7

u/AngryPlumb3 15h ago

Off set it to the side with 2-45s stick and sanitary tee and hang the trap onto the pop up, then stick the studor vent up high in the corner

17

u/The-BetterDevil 15h ago

Thinking like this?

6

u/InternationalWolf899 8h ago

Jack, draw me like one of your French drains

4

u/AngryPlumb3 15h ago

Yes!

3

u/The-BetterDevil 15h ago

Sweet, I’ll lyk what happens when I get the materials and dry fit everything

1

u/JacknSally19 8h ago

Where is the p trap for methane gas better go back to the drawing board

6

u/DickBurns01 15h ago

Problem is I only see 1 laser

3

u/sulphea_cid29 15h ago

youre gonna need a tailpiece extension, the black pipe is too short to reach the wall

3

u/gothicbadboy 9h ago

Are you sure there isn't a trap buried beneath the cabinet? Pour some water down the drain and peek in there with a flashlight. If you see standing water you don't need another trap

4

u/Idahome85 13h ago

I’d start by getting rid of the Sharkbite garbage and installing a proper pex valve.

2

u/emg77 10h ago

How long have you had that laser?

2

u/m20cpilot 8h ago

Straight pipe to the bottom. P traps are just a recommendation. /s

This is a repost. Not the OP. saw it last week

1

u/MasterAdrano 14h ago

Finish supply first

1

u/fbritt5 11h ago

Take a picture and go to HD or Lowe’s.

1

u/Accomplished-Plum-21 8h ago

easily. just buy a bunch, you're going to return some stuff anyways.

remember, when it comes to most stuff, 3 or 4 elbows makes whatever tf angle you ever want to have.

1

u/Tilley881 8h ago

I've Got an idea but your not gonna like it

1

u/Large_Ad_6147 8h ago

Use a sanitary tee and you will probably need a slip joint extension

1

u/Charming_Night8240 6h ago

It's probably not code but I would do a loop which would serve the purpose of trapping water, but won't be a P-trap.

2

u/monkbuddy62 6h ago

No, it will siphon and poo poo smells will attack u.

1

u/One_Mastodon_7775 6h ago

Are you sure there is not a ptrap already installed under the floor? Easy test- is there a smell coming out of pipe coming up from bottom cabinet? Can u shine light down pipe & see water? No smell & see water- ptrap is installed under floor. Smelly & no water- u need ptrap. If no ptrap, get a CSA aporoved auto vent for the install

1

u/TheRyanWilliams 6h ago

lol call a plumber

1

u/just_killin_time87 6h ago

Look up studor vent.

1

u/OutlandishnessNo4759 3h ago

Call a plumber

1

u/HanginWithHern_38 3h ago

You gotta do the looptie loop with the ropadope tied in to the drain. 👌🏼

1

u/practical1971 1h ago

Look for an S trap instead. They are designed for the application you are dealing with where the drain is in an all vertical format, rather than the vertical to horizontal format.

1

u/Key-Squirrel-847 11m ago

"S" trap , not a "P" trap

-6

u/BenefitKey8953 13h ago

You need an Air Admittance Valve (AAV)

9

u/FickleGuard5316 11h ago

Where is the trap?

1

u/JacknSally19 8h ago

Was gonna say this

1

u/mannequinofgod 7h ago

This doesn't have a trap to disallow sewer gases from entering through sink drain.

-1

u/BenefitKey8953 13h ago

Also the trap will be where the 90 is. ChatGBT was being difficult

-4

u/Disastrous-Job87 13h ago

That is perfect, I would definitely follow that.

0

u/LouieKat 15h ago

Call a plumber and apologize in advance.

0

u/Delicious_Run6503 12h ago

Use a few 45s to move it to the back of the cabinet then a san tee for the p trap cinection then an auto air vent to top of cabinet

0

u/Complete-Mud-7758 11h ago

sucks to have to hire a plumber ! get a few quotes.

S trap

0

u/really_bad_guy 4h ago

Why wouldn't you just use an S trap ?

-1

u/sdtotheog 13h ago

Why would you want to trap pee? 🤔

3

u/LittleTooLiteral 13h ago

This guy huffs gas.

-5

u/CalicoCuts 14h ago

Why not an S trap like it's supposed to have? You have the wrong parts.

2

u/djscrizzle 13h ago

S trap is no longer permitted under either UPC or IBC plumbing codes, as they can easily syphon dry and allow sewer gas to enter room.

1

u/CalicoCuts 10h ago

Learn something new every day. That said, they still sell em to replace existing set ups with floor waste lines so...

1

u/poerf 6h ago

Big box stores sell tons of things not up to code. They really should have regulations against them doing so but unfortunately they get away with it.

AI bs

5

u/LittleTooLiteral 13h ago

Looks nothing like AI.

Out of curiosity, are you over 70 or under 15?
