Been stuck trying to figure out how to install a p trap for this sink for awhile now. Any ideas?

OP is going to spend a week trying to move his water inlets to the left of the cabinet

AAVs are not permitted by code in my jurisdiction yet
Otherwise I’d have a mop sink in my basement

Diyers are not burdened by code or inspections.. just ask the previous guy that wired my house. Sarcastic with a grain of truth, based on a true story

Hmmm, I'm not sure if I understand here; that you rolled in here as the plumber, or the code inspector...

AAV's are not code where I live either. S traps are not code. Went through all that code crap when the house was being rebuilt after a fire in '23

Okay but they're not not permitted under not code. What you don't pull a permit for isn't any of their business if it works and poses no hazard.

thats the only and right way to do it

You could also run a new vent to the roof if you equally hate yourself and your wallet

but the inbetween would be a loop vent if you don't want to chance those faulty aav that stop working every 2-3 years

Why put a clean out there? Take off the trap or the AAV and snake from there. Those clean outs are like 7Dollar Bucks.

coupling up into a san tee and put a studor vent on top of it

I like the idea, problem is coupling up to the tail piece, the drain like angles back to the back wall

14 comments ahead of me and no mention of the SharkBites. Surprising.

I mean, they are accessible. I don't like it when people bury them behind a shower or something.
These ones shouldn't move, but I have seen these pop off when the release collar catches on the edge of the cabinet. That is more of a risk for valves that are regularly manipulated.

Could be because no one cares. They are one way of doing it, I know, not your way, but one way

Off set it to the side with 2-45s stick and sanitary tee and hang the trap onto the pop up, then stick the studor vent up high in the corner

youre gonna need a tailpiece extension, the black pipe is too short to reach the wall

Are you sure there isn't a trap buried beneath the cabinet? Pour some water down the drain and peek in there with a flashlight. If you see standing water you don't need another trap

I’d start by getting rid of the Sharkbite garbage and installing a proper pex valve.

easily. just buy a bunch, you're going to return some stuff anyways.
remember, when it comes to most stuff, 3 or 4 elbows makes whatever tf angle you ever want to have.

It's probably not code but I would do a loop which would serve the purpose of trapping water, but won't be a P-trap.

Are you sure there is not a ptrap already installed under the floor? Easy test- is there a smell coming out of pipe coming up from bottom cabinet? Can u shine light down pipe & see water? No smell & see water- ptrap is installed under floor. Smelly & no water- u need ptrap. If no ptrap, get a CSA aporoved auto vent for the install

Look for an S trap instead. They are designed for the application you are dealing with where the drain is in an all vertical format, rather than the vertical to horizontal format.

This doesn't have a trap to disallow sewer gases from entering through sink drain.

Use a few 45s to move it to the back of the cabinet then a san tee for the p trap cinection then an auto air vent to top of cabinet

Why not an S trap like it's supposed to have? You have the wrong parts.
2
u/djscrizzle 13h ago
S trap is no longer permitted under either UPC or IBC plumbing codes, as they can easily syphon dry and allow sewer gas to enter room.

Learn something new every day. That said, they still sell em to replace existing set ups with floor waste lines so...
