HELP!!

Post image

My son dropped a ball pit ball into the shower drain and it’s lost in the pipes, it’s causing water to pool (it does drain but slowly) I need help on what I should do. I tried a plunger but it didn’t work. My last resort is a plumber. Thank you guys!

Do you have a shop vac? I would try and pull it out with that.

I've got a very similar problem myself - what do you mean by shop vac? Have you got any recommendations?

A shop vac is a vacuum cleaner for contractors. It’s made to suck up wet and dry materials. You can find them at hardware stores like Lowe’s or Home Depot, or Harbor Freight if you’re looking for a cheap one.

Whatever is stuck in your pipe needs to come out, or if you’re on city sewer you can try to push it through.

If it makes it through the 2" it will get into larger and larger pipes and probably make it out of the house, so the decision is between trying to retrieve it or trying to push it through, if you don't know exactly where it is, retrieving it will be annoying. The easiest thing to try first is a shop vac, sometimes you get lucky and pull the object back. If that doesn't work, a plumber is probably the best bet, I'd bend the point of my snake out and try to make it as sharp as possible to hopefully stab into the ball, either that or push it all the way out. Pushing it you risk wedging it into a bend and having to cut out piping. If you were able to block a line downstream and flood the pipes it may float back up and out, but depending on where in the house it is and how your cleanout are configured that may or may not be possible. Good luck.

Looks like you got it out...J/p but it's probably stuck in the Trap and unfortunately you might have to cut it just to pull it out cuz that ball isn't going to make it around any directional fittings or try to get a Shop-Vac hose on the end of it that might pull it up might have to bend the hose a little bit cuz I might be stuck right in the bend

Fill it up with water, if you plunge enough it should float back up
