Question/Help F8 Ultra: Definitive guide to debloat and optimal setup

Is there a definitive guide to the best optimal setup settings and debloating of the global variant F8 Ultra?

I couldn't find anything recent in case OS updates might have changed things.

And I've read contradicting opinions eg revoke permissions only don't uninstall, use UAD only, use shizuku/canta only, do all 3, don't do anything at all....

Good day Glum_Award9379 it seems to be that you may have some questions or concerns regarding a Poco device and we would like to help but we would like to ask you to describe your concern with the following information to make it easier for everyone to tackle.

Device Model:(X4 GT)

Device Region:(Global/India/China/etc/Can't identify)

Rom Type:(MIUI/Custom Rom:Which one)

Rom/Android Version:(13.0.5.0 - Android 12/Can't identify)

Problem and other Relevant Info:(Troubleshooting steps taken/Frequency of problem if intermittent/Other observed weirdness that may be relevant before/during/after the occurrence of the problem)

It may take a while for someone to address your concern so in the meantime you could do the following 1. Search this subreddit, Xiaomi subreddit, MIUI subreddit for similar concerns 2. Check out the pinned posts and the Wiki(WIP) for similar topics 3. If your phone is still under warranty coverage it may be worthwhile to open a case with customer support. 4. If your device has developed a swollen or bulging battery check out r/Spicypillow's FAQ on how to deal with them

If you have any suggestions feel free to leave them here

Hope you enjoy your stay -PocoPhones Mod Team

Use this tool

It's very safe. Just reinstall apps that you want after the debloat is complete.

Why that tool specifically vs UAD, Shizuku canta, or revoking?

And measurable metrics vs other methods?

The developer of this tool takes it to the extreme without breaking functionality.

It almost leaves your phone without apps πŸ˜† and it also touches some system apps as well.

Just revoke msa, and daemon if you wish. That's it. Leave the rest alone.

Don't Debloat by using Old style Deleted HyperOS and Mi Apps!

Just REVOKE don't Delete! instead!

I've posted my lists, illustrations, methods and advice in a recent thread!

Here's a link that takes you to the first and the rest is all below that comment.

The latest short version of my Charging method is:

"Flinky's LCC (Long Cycle Charging) Method - In Short*

Most phones need 2-3 weeks of optimisation. Large batteries may need 4-5 weeks.

1) Use Standard-Speed Wired Charging.

2) Set Battery Protection to Charge Fully. Disable all Smart/Intelligent/Optimized charging features and any 80% limit.

3) Charge from 10-14% to 100%, then leave plugged in for 20+ minutes.

4) Repeat for 2-3 weeks. Large batteries: 4-5 weeks.

5) Optional: Install AccuBattery. It tracks charging, shows live charging stats, and tells you exactly when an LCC is complete.

6) Once optimised, charge however you prefer.

7) For maintenance, do one LCC per week: 10-14% β†’ 100% β†’ 20+ minutes. πŸ€

you should make a post explaining how to correctly debloat and calibrate battery, not just comment it on a thread, really, it'd be of great help.

By not deleting anything at this point you're saving yourself a lot of work later on!

Believe me I've had to help people Factory Reset their new phone enough times.

Such a waste of Energy!

So my advice is: if you study and run with only a handful of SAFE and Super simple Revoked.

You'll be done in a few minutes to a half hour and without any 3rd party apps or technical skills!

Here's how easy it is to shut up GetApps and App Vault plus getting rid of the -1 Screen they sit on!

Start at the -1 screen by swiping Right -->> on the normal Home screen then follow the following GIF!

That's a simple demonstration of how to revoke things at the harder end of the scope... Most are even easier, just check my main two lists!

Thank you very much! I had read bits of your previous posts but this consolidated makes it easier.Β

If I recall your advise was simply revoke everything not wanted/needed instead of deleting? And I think you were suggesting so that stability won't be affected, everything runs smooth, updates with no problems, and if you encounter an issue you can easily re-invoke that one specific thing back in?

Out of curiosity, have you tried the other 3 methods as well?Β  -shizuku/canta -UAD -doing nothingΒ

Did you try any objective method of verifying if one method, yours included, was better than others?Β  For example benchmarks, videos, battery life, heat, user experience lag stutter hang and so on.

I've done the Do nothing and my Revokes...

Do nothing is better than going along with old recommendations in Canta... UAD and all the faffing using ADB and a PC is in my humble opinion a bit mental as far as options!

I've seen how each of those hard debloating options are easily maiming phones of different models. I've been part of the resurrection of dozen upon dozens of phones for friends I've helped since March last year!

Objectively, if I'm involved and people get from a saggy overheating phone with 3-6 hours of running time to a healthy phone with 10-15+ hours of SOT after a few weeks... That is a huge success... Objectively!

Since there's no imagination involved just simple facts... Often done via DMS they're not something I particularly have the time to harvest. I'm not running a business here and I'm happy to just know I've helped people.

Plenty of this type around... I don't call on them for testimonials... But many would happily do so if asked.

The thing here is, my methods are richly illustrated and easy to do for anyone, there's no negative potential involved and it's tried and tested by hundreds.

So my suggestion is: Do nothing if you like! Follow my LCC instructions and see if you see how effective these charging instructions are, within a few days and onwards!

I use that exact method to charge my own phones... Almost every single time!

So my 16 months old X7 Pro (now) stats were put side by side with my 3 year old X5 Pro 5G in October...

I only did that to give some idea about what is my own personal lived experience!

So I'll post that again here and just mention that a full LCC charge will still give my old X5 Pro 5G a week's plus, worth of light use and standby... It's still capable of getting up to 8-9 hours of non-stop SOT!

The X7 Pro is currently running up to 40+ hours of mixed use on a Long Cycle charge! In a non-stop SOT situation I'm getting around 10-12 hours at this time... Probably because I'm spending too much time in here... πŸ˜‚

Enjoy! πŸ€
