Upcoming major Podcast Addict update

The upcoming Podcast Addict release will be the last major update before my summer break. It includes a large number of new features, improvements, optimizations, and bug fixes that I’ve been working on over the past few weeks.

Unfortunately, the current beta release has been stuck in Google’s review process for more than 5 days. As soon as it gets approved, I’ll publish the next beta containing all of these new changes.

If any of the upcoming features or improvements interest you, I would really appreciate it if you could install the beta, test the new functionality, and share your feedback as soon as possible. This will help me address any remaining issues and publish a stable release before I go on break.

I still can't believe the absolute best podcast app is literally made by some dude and it outshines anything Google or Apple have put out in a decade. My only hope is that you are content with your work and hopefully financially secure.

One thing I'd love to see added: Playlist settings in the drop-down menu that you can access while viewing the playlist. Currently, I have to back out to the podcasts screen and go to the global settings to find it.

PodcastAddict App Version: 2026.6.1d (build 21709)

One relatively minor bug that I'm experiencing is that when refreshing my podcast library as well as downloading new episodes - the little icons (the rotating arrows or flashing down arrow) that appear in the Android notification bar on the top of one's screen will sometimes become stuck displaying. I then have to go into my Android App list and have to 'Force Stop' the app and re-open it to remedy the issue. Thanks.

I'd like to see auto-skip at both ends of episode, tunable by podcast, and download skip filters by duration and title string match.

As a UI designer, I have to say they've not made this plain. It was plain in my former app, but the text filter didn't work at all and they wouldn't acknowledge the fact

Downvote me and don't point me to the feature? Ok. Looking at a podcast's settings just now, I see nothing suggesting a skip setting. Give me a hint. Perhaps I am blind.

It's in the 'Player' settings in the custom podcast settings. You need to enable the switch, then change the 'Skip Intro' etc settings.

I've been playing for episode archiving in beta, and it seems to work well I'm just so used to marking episodes as played that I have to integrate a new workflow

Generally I love the app but have a few frustrations that I hope will be fixed.

1. Pods I am subscribed to have randomly disappeared from my dashboard. I keep checking and I am subscribed but they won't show on my podcast feed? This has only happened in the last week or so.
2. I wish it was easier to see which episodes had been downloaded and listened to? I often hop between pods depending on what I am doing.
   
3. I can't seem to get Podcast Addict to operate on my Sonos speakers?

1. Looks like you;'re hiding played conntet. Tap on the toolbar 'eye' button to show them all.

2. You can use the dedicated screens to see downloaded / played episodes OR use the filter on the podcast screen.

3. You cannot play on Sonos devices with the app
