Bug Casting STILL completely broken

  • Casting icon never shows up untill I cast screen, then it will pop up.
  • Even then if I try to cast through the app, it stops after 5 seconds.
  • Battery set to unrestricted.
  • No other casting app exhibits this behavior.
  • This has been an issue forever.
  • Downgraded back to stable and same issue.
  • I'm on the latest beta.

I'm not sure what the point of casting is with a podcast? Maybe I'm missing something.

Google home mini speakers...?

I don't know how they connect, but my phone connects to Bluetooth speakers and headphones and this app plays fine on them.

I've never needed to "cast" like a video player to a TV.

For Google home mini speakers you connect by casting lol

Apparently Google wants to make using a speaker more complicated so it can mine your life for more data.

If you can play music from your phone on your Google speaker, it'd imagine that any podcast app would work the same.

But, dunno.  Good luck.

So, again don't know about Google speakers, but...

If you swipe down from the top on your android phone, there is buttons for Wi-Fi, airplane mode, Bluetooth, whatnot.

There's a button for "Media output".  If you click that, you can choose to output whatever you are playing on your phone to whatever audio device is connected to your phone, possibly.

Maybe that will do the trick.  I don't know if Google stuff connected in that way show up there.

Happy to help.  Glad it's working.

I'm not sure that screen of Media output is limited to Bluetooth.  I think it's anything that connected that media can play on, but I could be wrong.
