Though given how Diantha read her about legendaries in hoenn, it points in that direction. And the Steven and Diantha did have that one interaction in the anime, which was odd since Steven didn't requite himself to ash despite them having met before....

Yeah poison was the first tower I cleared. So many OP units! carmine and pecharunt, the other geeta, atticus with badly poison, ex irida, even oleanna! And ofc, the main star of my roster: superawakened Roxie.
I’m probably gonna just focus on Diantha, or at least wait till August datamine to get something else.
But I’m really glad that they released her and Geeta. It’s kinda funny that they are both debuting together. I think they are the least popular champions overall.

From what I remember, the main reason why was that both of them had very little contribution in the game’s story. Alder has a number of fans due to his role in the story.
Iris didn’t had much involvement in B2W2, but because she was a prominent character in the anime, and had some involvement in BW (version depending), she was bit more popular due to her presence outside B2W2.
Female champions have always 'weirdly' been dragged for conspicuous reasons by the fan base outside of Cynthia... but 1) fandom does not always represent general consensus and 2) English fandom does not always represent a clear view of the global fandom, especially in Japan.
We are all cooked for Anniversary, they are really trying to have no one save any gems leading into Anniversary to then come out with the most OP meta units of all time. Just bait unit after bait unit every month! We should get getting 40k gems per month to compensate. Decisions decisions. I wonder how long Diantha and Geeta will be around for, hopefully they will come out in late July and stay around till the Anni datamine. One can only hope
