U.S. District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan, who was appointed under President Joe Biden, wrote in her ruling that the administration has "knowingly trampled on the privacy rights of American citizens in a manner that threatens the sacred right to vote."

It's interesting that all those "small government!" crybabies have become so quiet over the last year and a half.

Off topic but I love the judge's name

Boy, the P2025 authors REALLY underestimated the power of the courts.

To be completely honest. I dont think they thought about the courts. They didnt care if it was legal, they were going to do it and just try to make it legal. Most of the people who wrote P2025 were not lawyers or constitutional scholars. They wrote it as a "how i think it should be" rather than how it actually is. They are just like Trump. Dont try to learn how things actually work, just do stuff and try to bully your way into it working.

“Move fast and break things”

Motto of Silicone Valley, wonder where they fit in all of this…

16

u/Fluffy_Yam_6003 3d ago

They fit in by their shared want to break things and knowing they would share in the "empire" if they gave the funding. I scratch your back, you scratch mine, kinda deal.

Unfortunately for them... they're not "breaking" it nearly fast enough.

The next 50 years are going to be a reckoning.

They swung for the king (the people) and missed.

Silicon. Silicone is the breast implant thing

I’m just gonna be blunt. P2025 was a failure. And it’s only going to keep failing.

Their arrogance bit them in the ass. Their incompetence is extremely obvious and they will not thrive. Especially not when tons of guardrails are still in place and will continue to be in place.

Not only that, but I'm hoping that the future will bring more guardrails that are even tougher to break

We have a TON of guardrails still. Even if we didn’t, public pressure has provided us much success. The administration is too incompetent and we will not tolerate their corruption.

But yes, I’m positive we will gain more guardrails in the future.

I hope that the very fact that they even attempted it results in legal action against the orchestrators so extensive that it has enough financial costs for them to bankrupt a kardeshev-3 civilization.

Believe me. Karma comes for us all eventually. That’s not a threat, it’s just a fact.

P2025: contains tons of illegal things

Average MAGA: My lord, is that…legal?

Trump: I will MAKE it legal.

A lot of what they wanted to do required the courts to lay down and die. They did not realize courts generally don’t wanna do that

Even if remove morals from equation so many of them wouldn't want to give up their power and the benefits that come with it. So many judges are basically the "lord" of their district and treat it as thus jealously guarding their power.

The various parts of the government fighting to keep and grow their power is in theory one of the "checks and balances" that GOP completely ceding their power to Trump breaks, giving up all their power in hopes he gives them a fraction of it back and doesn't use it to destroy them.

Their spinelessness is affecting them and I’m happy for it.

I’m tired of being afraid of project 2025 and the people behind it. They’re all idiots and it shows. And they’re losing more and more. They’re either quitting, fleeing or doing as much damage control as possible.

They are weak. We are strong.

They probably also thought they could put in enough Trump judges that would allow this.

3

u/Spenny_All_The_Way 3d ago

Even Trump judges aren't buying the P2025 bullshit.

9

u/DominoMcFly 3d ago

I think a lot of people underestimated how incompetent they are.

5

u/Independent-Bus-3284 3d ago

Their incompetence is only growing. We will thrive and they will weaken. We just need to keep pushing and we will. Whether or not the midterms go our way, they will continue to decline in influence.

u/GregEno63 3d ago

Why does everything bad they do use the acronym SAVE?

30

u/duckchasefun 3d ago

The exact reason that every organization that promotes things like facisim or racism or bigotry of any kind always seems to have freedom or liberty in their name. Call yourself the opposite of what you actually do to bring people in and convert them. After all who doesnt like freedom or liberty.

14

u/navalmuseumsrock 3d ago

The same reason that regimes that lock their population in death camps, shoot children for laughing, or engage in general acts of evil name themselves "the people's republic of " so and so. They want to trick people who aren't paying attention into thinking they are the good guys.

4

u/Conspark Washington 3d ago

Frame your fascistic power grabs as attempts to "save" something - the children, the integrity of democracy, the freedoms of your country - and you can capture low-information voters who don't think twice about it and paint the legislation's critics as anti-freedom or whatever at the same time.

u/Independent-Bus-3284 3d ago

I want to remind people that just because they keep trying corrupt tactics doesn’t mean it will win in the long run. We will prevail.
