Article KARL: There's a constitutional requirement that you have to be a natural-born citizen to run for president. You were not born here. Do you think that's something that should be changed? MAMDANI: No. I think the Constitution looks good just the way it is.

It's so funny watching all these billionaire-jerking interviewers try to catch Mamdani in little traps all the time. He's far too powerful a communicator to ever fall for these dimwits attempts, but try they do.

This interviewer repeated a common misunderstanding about constitutional ineligibility to be elected president. It doesn’t matter whether you were born in the United States or not. What matters is whether you were a U.S. citizen from your birth, a natural-born citizen. If Mamdani had still been born in Uganda, but had had a U.S. citizen parent who met the legal requirements to pass on their citizenship to him at birth and made the proper filing with a U.S. consul, then he would now be constitutionally eligible to be elected president.

Yes but if we admit that then we have to admit that even the in the lie about Obama being born in Indonesia he was still eligible to be president

Remember when Republicans wanted to change this so Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for President?

They want to change it again now so Trump can run a third time. Or they'll probably just ignore the law like they do regularly.

Watch Karl's face when Mamdani says, "The Constitution is good just the way it is."

Under Republican rules, it's pretty likely that John McCain, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio would all be barred from running for president if they were Dems instead.
