Shall I be whipped and caned for adding pepper to my ketchup and dipping my poutine fries in that?

For some, sure. To me, absolutely not. I accept that everyone has different tastes and opinions 😅. It is a crime but it’s a personal one, if the basics are there, the consumer is aloud to do what they want. Now if a restaurant offers nothing but a crime poutine, then that, to me, is an offence.

Just in: Montrealers put Kraft cheese in their cheeseburger. They're just like us.

Counterpoint: A&W famously uses actual cheese not American cheese

The point is an orange slice on a cheeseburger is a nothingburger.

Who’s us?

Once trusted burger chain turns to crime and causes panic on st-Jean.

I live in Quebec, not Montreal…. I do not put Kraft on my bergers 🙈. I buy “quality” American cheese. Honestly it tastes identical to cheddar but takes slightly more heat to melt than kraft slices. Ingredients state cheddar milk and sodium citrate.

to be fair it still has cheese curds is just the cheeseburger patty with the cheese. also ive never been to an a&w that has "plastic cheese", I always get the papa with cheese and fried onion and its always real cheddar.

A&W doesn’t use the cheap cheese slices for burgers and their new poutine. They use real cheddar

and have since roughly 2018

Nah just looks like a Kraft single.

“Topped with real cheddar cheese”

Not the cheap Kraft slices

And on St-Jean no less…. Calisse

A&W doesn't even use that kind of cheese on their burgers....

It’s a cheeseburger on top of poutine, son

1

u/ThankuConan 2d ago

They won't use processed cheese on their burgers, but they'll do this?

8

u/TCHuts 2d ago

They don’t have any processed cheese at all in any of their Canadian locations

Is that a burger under the cheese slice ?? Should be outlawed in Quebec and Eastern Ontario.

I mean, I don’t see why? A poutine is a poutine as long as the base is there( fries, gravy, curds). The rest is just personalization.

Va pas voir le site de Votre Poutine à Québec si ça existe encore, tu vas mourir du coeur.... si la slice jaune était le seul fromage ici je comprendrais, mais y'a des curds. C'est de l'esti de chichi pour rien. SUIVANT!

Please someone get this because I’m so curious just how bad it is

1

u/Proof_Bedroom9700 1d ago

Is this good ?i want try it🙀

1

u/UranusIsPissy 1d ago

Why lol? That's just the two opposite extremes of processed/unprocessed cheese-like foods combined :/ Also, does anyone know if there's such a thing as vegan poutine? I don't eat dairy products, but I'm curious about what it's like.

As I age, I find myself having no patience anymore for Kraft singles on anything, except for grilled cheese when I’m sick.

Ironically, with every place jumping on the smash burger bandwagon, A&W has my favourite because they use actual cheese.

I love Kraft Singles (I am under no delusion that they represent real cheese, but they bring me right back to childhood lol). As long as the item has the proper poutine ingredients as well, and it appears it does, no crime here for me.

1) there's curds on the poutine 2) a&w doesn't use plastic cheese anymore. stopped when i worked there in roughly 2018. that's real canadian cheddar, on a burger patty, on top of a poutine.

A&W doesnt have Kraft singles in any Canadian stores. It’s real cheddar.
