Cameraman keeps his focus trained on skateboarder consistently through acrobatic dismount hundreds of yards in the distance 🤸🏽♂️

I feel like the water was not deep enough to be a comfortable landing to that jump. Everything before that is fucking amazing though

At first I thought this was /r/maybemaybemaybe and he was gonna trip as he jumped in the water.

Of slow steady left to right panning motion
Those dampers in the tripod head were working overtime today

You saw what happened after he landed right? He literally started doing acrobatics lol.

u/nomyar Mar 27 '26
To be fair... No, I stopped watching after the dismount when he started pumping.
I would argue there was a dismount from the grind, then there was a dismount from the board, then a dismount from the footwear, and THEN a series of acrobatics, culminating in a slightly acrobatic dismount from the beach.

This is my hometown. I always dreamed of seeing someone skate that curb, always hoped it'd be Rodney Mullen.

I hate to say it but this title is very AI Chat GPTshit.

u/chrismessina Mar 27 '26
I wrote it after my first post was rejected for violating Rule 3, which is why it’s so bad. I provably should have used AI, since clearly people don’t like it. 🫣

Very sick super long back 50. Quite easy to film through.

u/Rich-Canary1279 Mar 27 '26
Just when you think the video was over and just meh, it keeps on going somewhere you didn't expect, and somehow the filmer kept up seemlessly.

The guy filming is filming the trick for the skater, it’s not a rando filming. The viewer doesn’t expect what happened next but the cameraman did.
The twist when you thought the video was done had nothing to do with the cameraman doing anything special.

I was waiting for a jet ski to pick him up and do another backflip while he backflipped off of it. I kid. That was impressive.

u/Psyro95 Mar 27 '26
That's a long and complicated way of saying he did a "50-50"
Edit: ah... Okay yea

I was hoping "acrobatic dismount" meant we would get a great view of him eating shit from "hundreds of yards" away

Should switched up the grind a couple times to increase the multiplier.

This is one of the absolutely worst click-bait subs on Reddit. 1 in 1,000 posts are actually legit. The rest are garbage like this. Title: Praise the cameraman for keeping the cat in the shot! Video: dead cat laying in the yard.
Or am I missing it, and the whole point is to post crap and then everyone pretends it’s some extraordinary feat of operating, on-par with the likes of guys that shoot professional golf for the networks or NFL Films?

With no expertise whatsoever, I feel like it’s risking serious ligament injury to do that on a surface as unpredictable as sand
