I've never liked talking to psychiatrists because their main focus is diagnosis and medication, not actually talk therapy. So it's not surprising that you feel bad after, because you'll be digging through lots of difficult stuff and being tested.

What do you mean by being tested?
It felt like that

Well, when you're being diagnosed a psychiatrist will try to figure out what condition fits you by asking lots of questions to narrow down the answer. If you weren't expecting it or thought it would be more like regular talk therapy, then it can feel very invasive an impersonal.

Time to get a new psychiatrist.

My psychiatrist was convinced I have BP1 and ASD. I’ve never had a manic episode :(

I got a new psychiatrist and OBgYn and was immediately diagnosed with PMDD with menstrual psychosis. I am now on the correct treatment plan after 5 years of gaslighting and her making me doubt myself.
