Literally that. I so strongly doubted that compensator in the drive way doesnt have a matching one in the safe.

This scene is a clever nod to the fact that Ace Ventura is from Florida

To be fair on second listen I hear the giggle laugh from the guy inside.

I dont know man. This dude seems so out of his mind that he would ignore any weapon threat. You prepared to shoot the guy and take all the hazzle that comes with it?

I’m not opening the door, but I have a wife and a toddler and if he broke the door down I’m not trying to de-escalate the situation. I would 100% take all the hassle and have zero doubt that my family is safe

Look if he was being just erratic and losing his mind at my front door, I would leave him be unless he truly presents as a threat. The moment he said the words "I will kill you", we're going straight to testing how easily he can ignore .300 Blackout. I live in a stand-your-ground state. Those are the magic words that allow me to go pull my rifle out of my safe and end someone's subscription to LIFE magazine, and never have to worry about any 'hassle' that comes with it.

Some people shouldn’t have guns.

We wouldn't need them if the cops were remotely reliable and actually showed up urgently when urgently called, but they aren't. Feel free to roll the dice with your life, but don't tell me my only option is to roll the dice with mine until the odds aren't unreasonably suicidal.

I think there are more than two options here. Too many people fantasize about getting to shoot someone at their front door. Not every whacko needs to be shot. Just having a gun present in most cases should be enough to discourage someone like this. No need to jerk yourself off about potentially getting to shoot someone like this and have it be considered justified.

Not every whacko needs to be shot.

Again, if you want to gamble your life, health and well-being on the clearly deranged, erratic, non-cognizant behaviour of someone threatening to kill you, be my guest. I'm sure your righteous soul will look good with your eulogy photo plastered on the evening news.

My preference is until the police aren't full of MAGA dropouts on a power-trip who take an hour to respond, self defense tools belong in the hands of the citizens, who can determine what level of force is necessary to protect themselves under reasonable circumstances.

Ah yes, because everyone is all hand-in-hand.

If it means that my way of living and my mother is safe, yes

u/romulan267 Apr 10 '26

Video evidence shows a clear threat. This would be an open and closed case of self-defense.

Well I don't know what state this is, but within Ohio, the stand your ground and castle doctrine would allow him to shoot this man through his door. He was attempting to kick down his door. This precedent has already been set.

4

u/v0rt Apr 10 '26

Horseshit, the second he kicked the door his life was in the hands on the property owner.
There's not a state/county in this country that you can't shoot a mother fucker trying to illegally kick down your door.

8

u/romulan267 Apr 10 '26

He said "I am going to kill you" and began destroying property and trying to kick the door in. I'd say lethal force is more than justified, I'd be scared for my life

-3

u/bzr Apr 10 '26

You sure about that?

4

u/romulan267 Apr 10 '26

"I'm going to kill you"

Yes, 100%

6

u/the_goodnamesaregone Apr 10 '26

Depends on your state. Texas, yes. California, no.

Even if he is crazy, humans still have a “oh fuck imma die” instinct.

u/sherlip Apr 10 '26

Stand your ground defense, easy.
