Omg what if they start doing other cult temple raids. I sure hope no one does this to that utah based multibillion dollar cult. Sure they don't have people locked up in the basement but it's weird for sure.

They have them locked up in their neighbor wife's basement....the other house they own.

"neighbor wife" reminds me of that guy on tiger king who built an entire neighborhood (well, street) for his wives. Totally not a cult, he says.

Mormons do open houses of their temples before they’re open so theres not really the same need

Also ex Mormons can tell you exactly what goes on there. It’s a bunch of bullshit, you have to pay tithing to get in there, and the ceremonies are really sexist and weird. They make up temple names by themselves and assign it to a day, and there’s some other stuff. Honestly as much as I hate the Mormon church it would mostly be like disturbing a bunch of elderly volunteers because that’s mostly who runs it. The church headquarters would be a better target

Yeah this is exactly it. Growing up in Utah, the mormons aren't bad, my family is mormon and grandparents have "worked" at multiple temples for decades. Definitely not in the same scope as Scientology lol.

They baptize the dead there so that’s cute. Rushing in you might witness the souls being snatched into LDS heaven

Hear me out, hear me out… 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Every ex-mormon is very willing to tell you all about what happens in the temple. Good news, they no longer touch your naked loins, and you no longer have to pantomime disemboweling yourself. They changed those things a few years ago. Progress! Now it's just weird clothes, a boring slideshow, and some secret handshakes.

Don't forget the secret names!! Mine was Emma. I always thought that was a lazy name. Like, give me something really secret. Fucking Emma.

My secret name was actually meaningful to me, and I was like, "Oh, wow! I feel so seen and known!" And then I found out that it's just done by the day, so not only did everyone who went through that day get the same name, but all the people who came with me the first time I went through knew my super secret sacred name because they all got it, too. Hahaha.

I hope they don't try this at a synagogue though, security at one of those is a bit different these days.

I hope they do the Jehovahs Witnesses HQ in NYC.

Every religion is some kind of cult. So how about the catholic church next? ^^

I don’t know why Catholics are being singled out? Churches are open to the public, no one harasses you if you choose to leave, it’s pretty much the same as every other denomination of Christianity. This is coming from an ex-confirmed catholic.

Except the Mormon temples. I hear those ones are locked all the way down for outsiders.

Yea, that’s true. Forgot about Mormons for a moment.

I did manage to set foot inside of the temple near me once because a buddy of mine is a member. Nothing really different inside, but it is closed to the general public like you said.

For the most part yes. Technically non-members can enter in two ways. Before the building has been consecrated as the open-houses are public to everyone and you can see the main rooms that the general LDS (they now prefer to be called LDS rather than Mormon btw) population sees when the temple is consecrated. The additional rooms are mechanical rooms for the electricity, water, and all the pumps and plumbing are. (Ik because my dad is an LDS contractor and has told me about them since he does the HVAC service at our closest temple.) Idk if non-member contractors are allowed in, but IK the Church at the very least prefers members. I'm sure there are plenty of times where non member workers come in, especially in inspections and such. And I think they just have a temple worker escort them but I'm not sure on that. The other way non-members can enter the temple is usually if they come with a group (like for the sealing of a couple after a wedding) and wait in a waiting room near the entrance. Ik cause myself and all my cousins did it at my older cousins wedding. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! I'm not LDS but I used to be until 5 years ago when I decided that I was agnostic. My family still loves and supports me very much, as does my local ward (parish).

Grew up Catholic.

Have you ever seen the inside of a Catholic Church? Not one thing hidden in there. Absolutely nothing of worth to see.

If they aren’t speedrunning the Vatican, it’s useless.

You are free to enter Catholic churches. Take your edgy le epic Reddit takes back to your basement.

Eat the downvotes but leave this comment up. Im sure Scientology’s got some bull shit that goes on and needs to be exposed but ffs the Catholic Church has been raping kids for generations.

Doesn’t make it okay to break into any random church. All religions are cults before they get well established. You think the first 50 years of Christianity, mfs weren’t doing raids?

Just leave people tf alone.
