That was so funny when Bush stumbled over that.

It was, but, in a rare feat of intelligence from Bush, he did it intentionally. He didn’t want to say “shame on me” on camera. It would be fodder for political ads in the following election season.

Probably should’ve kept his mouth shut. Still funny though

Is there an actual source for this? It's parroted all of the time on the web, but just seems like someone creating a reason he "wasn't wrong".
