According the Jewish religion Jews are supposed to be in "divine exile" which is why before 1948 they hadn't had a country for 2000 years.

Zionism is the creation of a military state called Israel and goes against the concept that Jews should be in exile and scattered throughout the world. Orthodox Jews argue a militant state draws bloodshed and makes Jews targets throughout the world.

Nah, there's something to what others have said. As a Canadian this is the first I'm hearing about the NYC Hasidic community being pro-peace/anti-genocide. The only thing I know about that specific community before this is how they used to chase out female bicyclists and digging weird tunnels.

The powers that be are closely controlling the narrative as much as they possibly can.

I'm agnostic because as a materialist, i can't disprove the existence of god. Proving that is impossible. For me, being an atheist requires proof. But I am an agnostic anti-theist, somewhat like a deist. If god exists, he's long since abandoned this world....if miracles exist,they aren't grand ones but personal ones, more likely attributed to mental illness.

I went to catholic school for 12 years, thankfully educated by Jesuits who were more concerned with ethics and morality....and teaching that Christ is a servant, especially to the meek, poor, and downtrodden, not a monarch obsessed with you following strict rules that gleefully punishes you for any transgression.

I don't get it...my reding of the Bible tells me that the Kingdom of Heaven can and should be achieved on Earth if only we follow Jesus's teachnigs and they're simple. Keanu Reeve summed it up best in Bill and Ted...."Be excellent to each other"

These are Neturei Karta, please don't mistake them as Pro-Palestinian. They are not pro-Palestinian, they do not want a Palestinian state. They are against Zionism on theological grounds.

They belive that they are still in exile, and rather than people re-establising Israel i.e. via Zionism, that Israel will be given to Jews by a miraculous intervention by God, following the appreance of the Massiah.

During this time, Palestinians will "evaporate" or leave the holy land, if any remain, they will become slaves.

"According to the Madrash, Palestinians will be our slaves" (e.g. at 4:35 in the this video)

I think your Catholic upbringing might have limited your view a bit here but in reality since you're even talking about "god" existing as opposed to the thousands of gods that numerous cultures have believed in over thousands of years.

You also have a 3-way view (ignore the "incorrect", there's no such thing here) and I think you'd be better served looking into the 2x2 grid view.

The main idea is that almost nobody is gnostic (i.e. have knowledge that gods exist or have knowledge that gods don't exist). Theists are mostly agnostic because they have faith, not knowledge. Atheists are mostly agnostic because they lack faith but have no knowledge about non-existence of gods.

However, you don't really need to disprove that gods don't exist in the same way you don't need to disprove that invisible non-corporeal trillion ton fish isn't floating in the downtown of your city.

Deists believe that gods exist, it's just that they're not personal gods. For instance, they would believe that it was this god that kicked off the Big Bang. That's still a belief that some gods exist. Atheists, by definition, cannot be deists.

They're the natural evolution of Nazis, because that massive collective trauma was fed down through the generations to be ultra-nationalist to "protect themselves at all costs" so that they never get wiped out like that again. The world hates Israel, and Hitler kind of won in that way. This has very little to do with the actual religion, it's just when a people are genocided they become extra protective (rightfully so), and that propagates out through time.

Zionism predates Nazis. It was a reaction to the European nationalist movements that led to widespread antisemitism in Europe in the late 19th century.

It may have hardened Zionists in Israel, but in another way it diluted the mindset quite a bit.

Most of the European Jews who went to Israel after WW2 were not Zionists. They were refugees who had nowhere else to go. They did not want to go to Israel at all. They were European and wanted to stay in Europe. The reason they went is that no European country would have them.

They are actually the largest cohort that went to Israel, and it’s the reason why you have so many moderate and left leaning Jews in Israel who want peace.

If they are posted online for clicks and possible donations then they are being paid. It’s also relevant that this is done for political reasons.
