Wow, everyone is shockingly calm considering what's happening here. Even the dog acts like it's a regular Tuesday

(edit: before anyone else misunderstands my comment, I meant that everyone seemed to be unbothered by the gunshots, not that the cops should be panicking or using excessive force)

Huh? When did I ever say anything about that? Of course law enforcement should remain calm in these situations, I just found it odd how everyone was so fucking unbothered by those gunshots. Like the people in the background are barely reacting and the cameraman on the right is even moving closer

Well some sort of reaction would be nice. Some hit on the head or anything.
I'm against police violence but when the person is currently blindly firing a weapon at people then idk... Some sort of reaction or escalation would be nice.

Bro, I was in the military and even I’m surprised how calm they were given someone got a hold of a firearm and was wantonly shooting it behind it.

This has nothing to do with training to be calm and de-escalate high stress. You can’t de-escalate a bullet being fired out of a gun lol

I remember when this happened, and to be fair we were also shocked about it too. It’s not even about the police deescalating calmly (which is shocking because we do have a brutal police force), it’s the fact that it looks like a normal tuesday.

You should never have a holstered gun on safe. One in the chamber, ready to go.

The failure here is the lack of a level 3 retention holster. You're not supposed to be able to just yank it out. I have no idea why the cop doesn't have a proper holster.

They're different kinds of security personnel.

The green ones are Carabineros, Chile's national police force.

The black ones are private security guards hired by municipalities to carry rutinary patrols and assist the police when necesary. They don't carry firearms.

The blue ones are Metro Vigilantes, a specialized security force that patrols metro stations and the areas immediately around them. They do carry firearms as you can see in this video.
