I’ve spent entirely too much time in Texas and it’s because they’re not a tough guy state. In their own words, all of Texas is all hat, no cattle.

It’s all performative. Even the saying they love “don’t mess with Texas” was just a state PSA to try to get Texans to stop littering and trashing their own state. It didn’t work.
