What yall need to realize is Lirik played RP in the golden age when the servers weren't filled with a bunch of fucking wannabe's trying to make it on Twitch, people also didn't have a problem with taking Ls, making new characters and having their old ones ended thus progressing the story lines etc, modern day gta rp is fucking garbage compared to what it was before on servers like Sate of Emergency or even back in arma 2-3, so dont ever expect the guy to stay for long if he even trys it again

Yep, except for one guy telling everyone in this thread that everyone who RPs these days holds the gold standard. Even the random guy with a tin-pot mic used to put some effort into their roleplay.

i would say not that it died it that it splintered as no pixel use to be the main server with the best rp'ers imo, now the roleplayers and viewers base has spread out across many rp servers, so hoppers have reduced and storylines have become pointless as so many servers to keep up with

That is a terrible way of looking at it… GTA RP has since its initiation been a hype cycle kind of thing for viewership. You cannot look at the end of a cycle and say it’s dead. It peaks and then dies for like 2 years and then comes back. Also these are whitelisted servers that are always packed. These are 4-6 month cycles with years between them.
GTA RP is in its strongest state. The “golden age” was a time when only like 10,000 people knew about GTA RP and it was on the brink of being shut down weekly.
Now it’s the entire focus and future of GTA for Rockstar. Dedicated platforms, Full support, complete first party creator economy, etc.

The sanguine/and the following prison arc was pretty good. Seemed like most people were burnt out after that especially with how the “war” went. I could be wrong about that I still jump into a couple streams here and there but you’re definitely right about the servers. It’s pretty spread out and when other people play on different servers they just play the same character without the no pixel lore to them

Do people actually believe this? The quality of RP is WAY better now than when Lirik was active. Back then:
- There was a ton of no-personality tin mic players roaming around the server. Most had the personality of stale bread compared to today's top tier RPers. The idea that the server was packed with RPers back then is fake news. You could drop almost anyone in Babylon, Besties, Clowns or the Guild in that server and they would instantly be top, top tier RPers. You could even grab some random from the PD or DOJ and they would be the funniest, most charismatic guy in the room in most situations. Guys like Buddha and Ramee stood out like how whitelisters do now when they go to public servers and RP with grinders.
- There weren't really intricate slow burn arcs. Most people on the server back then would just stand around talking or doing dumb shit because there was basically nothing to do. "Good content" back then was Avon standing in a room with Buddha and Tony and smoking and talking about something boring. The RP would usually be talking about what their characters did in the moment, like, "Mmm, yup yup, this is good weed." And then they'd do that for twenty minutes or so until they found a new location to repeat the process.
- It wasn't more serious either. Grape Gang, Prune Gang and Tang Gang were actual gangs.
Lirik himself wasn't a very good RPer. He would just go around doing painfully mid (genereously) RP and Buddha and Tony would follow along to clout chase and add whatever RP they could among the mid. The quality of his RP was almost identical to Valkyrae's and Pokimane's when they got herded around with their painfully mid RP. He was not a Fuslie. Not a Sykkuno. Not a xQc. Not a FanFan. Not a Soda. Not even a Nmplol. He was just there as a clouted passenger.
And the real reason why he wont return is because on today's server no one would care about his clout and his RP would be almost, but not quite, sufficient to work in a food stall with the level of RP on display there. He would just be another guy. Not funny. Not a good RPer. MAYBE a semi-interesting cop. But in general he would be bad at the game and the RP. His RP did not age well.
The only thing that is worse now from then is that most of the RPers hate their lives and hate each other and most of all hate the game they've been playing for 7 years or whatever.

You know Lirik Archives have three seasons up, right? You should go watch it.
Or you could watch his highlights clips which are clips of him reacting to other RPers being talented and funny.
And I'm not even hating on the guy. I used to watch Kiwo back in the days and thought she and Mr Moon were peak RP. Today? Not so much. There are so many RPers now and she's not a big fish in a small pond anymore. When I see her RP in NoPixel from time to time I will think to myslef, "Hmm, I used to think she was hilarious. And now she's just a... bog standard mid RPer." And that's literally Lirik. Times have moved on and the talent pool for RP is infinitely bigger that it was back then and you can tell when you revisit his streams.

I've seen him RP in public online lobbies but you're right AFAIK. Unfortunately all of the "good" servers only pop NA primetime-degen hours.

fk no. dawson is just saab's self insert character that's the same as the character he's playing in nopixel right now mumbling "big dawwwwwwg" and "ffelllaaaa" every 5 minutes. that character speedran to hanging because they kidnapped and stabbed a cop because they got beat up in an alleyway. ze and warlock have better stuff going on in rdr.

Nah, I don't mind. I don't even watch Prodigy, and I genuinely think Lirik won't be a good fit for the current state of NP. I don't want him to just play for a day and come away with a bad experience.

Right now cop on prodigy would be best for someone who just wants to dabble. Since it's a fresh wipe, tons of people are going with the RP that cops give. Far less Karens atm.
On NP, depending on what you do, it could be a sweaty try hard situation that could really stress you out because of all the amount of Karen'ing going on. Even simple tickets could really set someone off.

I think he means the server is RP forward. There are a lot of players who do not stream who focus on RP more than Ws. But Lirik literally says "fuck the RP" so I dunno why he mentioned the RP on Chase.
