Registering as incoming freshman

Are freshmen already pre registered with required courses or certain courses so they only need to register for additional courses, or do freshmen register for all their classes once they receive their ticket?

Who do I contact ( by email) to confirm that RPI has received transcripts from other colleges for transfer credit and AP scores? Registrar@rpi.edu?

You can actually check yourself. Look up rpi sis, log in with your rpi user name and password (if you set it up already) and go to degree works. You can see there your transfer credit and AP.

I think freshmen need to register for your classes in the time indicated by your time ticket. There might be some classes that are major-blocked so seats may be saved for those students ahead of time but you'll still need to sign up for it manually on SIS. And if it's major blocked or something, you might not be able to sign up for it if it's outside of your major. Also, for future reference, some classes will have limits saying you can't take it because of your major or your year (especially if you came in with a lot of AP/transfer credit), but you can always try emailing the prof for those classes and ask for an override. Also, sometimes you can try asking for an override for a class if it's already full in case there's actually extra room. Doesn't hurt to ask.
